Mount Omuro (大室山, Ōmuroyama) is an extinct volcano near the eastern coast of the Izu Peninsula, south of central Ito City. It is shaped like an inverted rice bowl and has a beautiful silhouette that can be seen from most places in the Izu Kogen area. Mount Omuro is about 580 meters high and has a crater with a diameter of about 300 meters which takes about 15 to 30 minutes to circle on foot.

Ito (伊東, Itō) is a famous hot spring resort town on the eastern coast of the Izu Peninsula. Due to its easy accessibility from Tokyo, the town is partially quite built-up, but also offers some historic buildings in its center, such as the Tokaikan, a historic, former ryokan open to the public. Outside the town center, Ito offers quite impressive natural scenery with its cliffy coast and hilly terrain.
About ten kilometers south of central Ito is Izu Kogen, a popular villa district and sightseeing destination with many small museums, restaurants, Mount Omuro and the beautiful Jogasaki Coast.

Mount Omuro 大室山 is an extinct volcano near the eastern coast of the Izu Peninsula. It is shaped like an inverted rice bowl and has a beautiful silhouette that can be seen from most places in the Izu Kogen area. Mount Omuro is about 580 meters high and has a crater with a diameter of about 300 meters.
Visitors must take a chair lift up the mountain in order to walk around the crater. The top of the mountain offers 360 degree panoramic views that include Mount Fuji and Oshima Island when visibility is good. More ambitious visitors can also try their hand at archery in the crater as well as paragilding down the side of the mountain.
Izu-Tobu 伊豆東部火山群 is a large, basaltic range of volcanoes on the east side of the Izu Peninsula. Ito is known for its hot springs.

Voici une nouvelle vidéo de mon séjour au Japon. Cette vidéo va vous paraître un peu longue mais j'ai pris le parti de vous présenter un peu mon quotidien, à savoir : manger, re-manger, visiter, me reposer, manger.
Dans cette vidéo, je vous fait un bref aperçu de ce que je fais dans un shinkansen : manger un Bento. Puis nous irons visiter le mont Omuro puis la ville de Ito. Je vous présenterait surtout un hébergement d'exception à prix dérisoire : le K's House que je vous recommande fortement si vous vous y rendez. Dépaysement assuré dans cette auberge tout en bois.
Le départ pour la ville de Ito et la réservation du K's House ont été faites très précipitamment. Ça s'est décidé le matin sur un coup de tête. Du coup je n'avais rien prévu et j'avais peu de temps pour me préparer le matin. Mais ce fût une aventure très agréable.
Concernant le restaurant Hisago, cela n'était pas du tout planifié. Vu que tout était soit plein, soit fermé, il y avait une petite lueur et une bonne odeur émanant du petit boui boui qui ne paye pas de mine. On entre-ouvre la porte et on se laisse transporter par les odeurs et l'ambiance chaleureuse de cet izakaya familial. Tout est fait sur place et à la demande. Un délice ! Mais attention, les gérantes ne parlent pas anglais. Mais vous pouvez toujours compter sur des clients pour vous aider.

IZU PENINSULA: A walk through Shotengai(Shopping Arcades) of Ito
Hi there.
When you imagine Asia, most people think of busy hawker streets with night stands and small restaurants in the streets. However in Japan, most shopping and dining districts are what are called Shotengai which mean shopping arcades .
This is me just walking along one of the Shotengai in Ito, in Izu peninsula, Shizuoka, Japan.
