Mt Rinjani is the second highest volcano in Indonesia (3,726m/12,224ft), part of the Mount Rinjani National Park. It is an active volcano with last eruptions in 2010 and 2015. Enjoy the stunning views of the park during three days trekking to the top.

THE HARDEST 3 DAYS OF MY LIFE | Mt. Rinjani, Indonesia
The start of one month in Indonesia and wow, what a challenge. I highly recommend visiting Lombok (and not just coming to Indonesia for Bali!) for it's beautiful waterfalls and of course, Mt. Rinjani. Our summit morning was incredibly challenging with torrential wind and rain and we were part of around 15 people who summited that day out of hundreds. Giving up was not an option - you can do anything if you put your mind to it, and it was worth every second. I've climbed higher mountains but Rinjani is something else. I hope you get a feel for what it was like through this video and that you enjoy the start of my Indonesia vlogs! There will be many more to come including Gili islands and of course, Bali. The biosphere includes Lombok Island, part of the Lesser Sunda Islands. It consists of relatively flat coastal areas and hilly and mountainous areas. The highest peak is Mount Rinjani, the second highest volcanic mountain in Indonesia (3,726 metres above sea level). It has a very high level of biodiversity, comprising various types of forest vegetation (savannah forest, mountain and lowland rain forest), about 40% of which are primary forests. The inhabitants’ main sources of revenue comes from horticultural (vegetables and fruits), cereal crops (rice), animal husbandry (cows, goats and chickens) and the cultivation of coffee and cacao.
Lombok Earthquake Indonesia 2018 in Mount Rinjani
On 5 August 2018, a destructive and shallow earthquake measuring Mw 6.9 (ML 7.0 according to BMKG) struck the island of Lombok, Indonesia. It was the main shock following its foreshock, a nearby Mw 6.4 earthquake on 29 July. It was followed by a nearby 6.9 earthquake on 19 August 2018.
The epicentre was located inland, near Loloan Village in North Lombok Regency. The fault rupture spread to the north and reached the sea, creating tsunamis. Severe shaking was reported throughout the entire island, while strong shaking was reported on the neighboring islands of Bali and Sumbawa.
Widespread damage was reported in Lombok and Bali. Officials stated that at least 80% of structures in North Lombok were damaged or destroyed. In the aftermath of the sequence of earthquakes in August, a total of 563 people were confirmed killed while more than 1,000 were confirmed injured. More than 417,000 people were displaced.[2][3]
This earthquake is the largest and the strongest earthquake to have hit Lombok in recorded history. With more than 560 deaths, it is also the deadliest earthquake in the Lesser Sunda Islands since the 1992 Flores earthquake and tsunami.[4] The earthquake later caused chains of earthquakes in West Nusa Tenggara with significant magnitude, which was deemed by officials as a rare even

Hiking Mount Rinjani | Lombok, Indonesia
Traveled to Lombok, Indonesia for 5 days and was able to explore Mount Rinjani National Park for 3 days and 2 nights. Rinjani Mountain is the second tallest mountain in Indonesia at 12,224 ft or 3,726m. My hike started at Sembalun Village at 7:30am, stayed a night at the crater rim, summited at 2:30am the next day, then went down to the lake for lunch, then headed up the path to the other side of Rinjani's crater rim near Senaru village, camped a night there then descended down to Senaru.

This is hands down one of the hardest things me and my wife have ever done in our lives. Mt Rinjani is the second highest active volcano in Indonesia (3726m or 12,224 ft). We embraced ourselves on the 2 days 1 night hike to the top. The hardest one of all the tours as doing it in 2 days is very very tough and challenging. What an amazing scenery we did and this video is up to end of Day 1. Next video we summit at the top so stay tuned!! Mount Rinjani Volcano- Indonesia, Lombok (May 2018)
Mount Rinjani or Gunung Rinjani is an active volcano in Indonesia on the island of Lombok. It rises to 3726M Asl, making it the second highest volcano in Indonesia.
Its 3D2N trekking, we start at Sembalun Village and overnight at campsite Plawangan Sembalun Crater Rim on 1st night before Summit attack at 1am on the next early morning. Descent and hike up again to Senaru Crater rim (second night campsite) before we complete the trek, descent to Senaru Entrance at Senaru Village.
Trail Difficulties: Moderate to Challenging especially volcanic ashes and sand part.
