Hiking in Mount Samaria State Park - North East Victoria
Nestled in North East Victoria lies the hidden gem Mount Samaria State Park. Great for camping, hiking and taking in the fresh air! Here is our day hike we completed leaving from Spring Creek Sawmill carpark heading up Lightning Track to Mount Samaria Track, to reach the summit. Back down through Summit Link Track to Wild Dog Creek Falls (sadly no water) and back to Spring Creek Sawmill.

Pound Bend Tunnel, Warrandyte State Park, Victoria, Australia.
This tunnel was made in 1870, to divert some of the water from the Yarra River & facilitate the mining of the alluvial gold. However, costs were still very high, & the mining company went broke after 12 months...........they left a great legacy though, for during the Summer, it's a favourite swimming spot.

Cape Schanck is a locality in the Australian state of Victoria. It is the southernmost tip of the Mornington Peninsula and separates the wild ocean waters of Bass Strait from the slightly calmer waters of Western Port. At the 2016 Census, Cape Schanck had a population of 446.
Mt Samaria
Mount Samaria State Park is a 7,600-hectare park situated approximately 20 km north of Mansfield in the state of Victoria, Australia. The park is bounded on the western side by the Broken River and Lake Nillahcootie.
Rollasons Falls
Located in the Mount Buffalo National Park, the Rollasons Falls Track is a short 3km return track consisting of upper and lower viewing points of the falls.Starting at the Rollasons Falls Picnic Area, the well-formed track winds its way down to a t-intersection; heading left to the upper falls and right to the lower falls.The upper falls section has two viewing points – looking over the falls into the rock pool and at the base of the rock pool itself.

Byaduk Caves are part of a lava flow from Mount Napier formed by molten lava continuing to flow beneath solidified outer layers.
The caves contain wrinkles, stalictites and stalagmites, columns and ropy lava. They are the most extensive and accessible set of lava caves in Victoria.
Mount Napier is one of the most recently active volcanoes in Australia.

It was the Queen's Birthday weekend and Moosey, Mrs Moose and Max'y boy decided to head to the hills for a stalk and campout. Beauty of a night with a solid full moon, great feed and Max'y boy busts a move. Enjoy!.
Seeking Sambar Deer in North East Victoria, Australia, Episode 2.
In this video I go deer hunting in North East Victoria with my Son. We arrive before dawn and spend a few minutes organising our gear and getting used to the dim light. We set off at first light and made our way slowly to the top of a high hill where we stopped for some smoko. Up to that point we'd seen plenty of fresh sign.Things were looking promising. As we sat quietly at the top of the hill a Sambar doe walked in to the clearing behind us. The animal was 10 to 15 metres from us before she saw us. She let out an almighty honk and took off into the bush.
We put up one other deer which we heard only as it crashed through bush.
To top off an excellent outing, we were entertained by a Lyrebird who imitated just about every other bird in the forest.

G'day all you blokes 'n' sheilas! Today we are having a captain cook at the north eastern side of the Strathbogie Ranges, not far from the town of Swanpool, VIC. Swanpool is about 2 hours from Melbourne, Australia. A fantastic place for a day picnic, or to camp for longer. There is plenty of bush camping scattered throughout the Strathbogies. This is one of our favourite places to camp as its only an hour from home, lots of wildlife, and not a lot of tourists. Access is easy any time of the year, and there is always plenty of firewood on the ground. There is a working Gold mine, as well as an old Crystal mine to explore. So do yourself a favour and get into the outdoors and have some fun. Hooroo!
