5 Top-Rated Tourist Attractions in Gatlinburg and the Smoky Mountains, United States
Although one of the smallest towns in Tennessee (its population is less than 4,000), tiny Gatlinburg is one of the state's busiest tourist destinations. The reason for this popularity is the fantastic Great Smoky Mountains National Park, the most visited national park in the US. Although straddling two different states, Gatlinburg seems to have the monopoly on the best scenic routes into the park, a fact that is easy to spot once you've arrived: everywhere you look there are hotels and entertainment facilities vying for attention. It's the perfect place from which to launch your adventure into the area's spectacular wilderness, and when you're done, there's no shortage of things to see and do in the town itself. Here five tourist attractions in Gatlinburg and the Smoky Mountains, Tennessee
1. Great Smoky Mountains National Park
2. Clingmans Dome Observation Tower
3. The Sugarlands
4. Downtown Gatlinburg
5. Cades Cove

Places to see in ( Pigeon Forge - USA )
Pigeon Forge, a mountain town and vacation area in eastern Tennessee, is the home of Dollywood, country singer Dolly Parton’s Appalachian-themed park consisting of rides, an adjoining water park and a museum of her costumes and memorabilia. The city’s other attractions include country music revues like the Smoky Mountain Opry, dinner theaters such as Dolly Parton's Dixie Stampede and outlet malls.
You can step aboard the Titanic, ogle OJ Simpson's white Ford Bronco, ride a 200ft-high Ferris wheel and plunge toward the earth on America's first 'wing coaster' in Pigeon Forge, a sprawling cacophony of excess and traffic burning bright in the shadow of the Great Smoky Mountains. With liquor by the drink available since 2013, the city has also loosened up a bit at night. Pigeon Forge is named in part for the Little Pigeon River, which flows through the action. Its banks were once a roosting spot for passenger pigeons – now extinct. Best known today as the home of Dollywood, Dolly Parton's namesake theme park, the city is packed tight with hotels, restaurants and family-friendly attractions, most of them lining Parkway, the main thoroughfare. Pigeon Forge is just 8 miles from Great Smoky Mountains National Park, but traffic and stoplights can make that 8 miles seem a mighty long way.
The West Fork of the Little Pigeon River flows north from its source high on the slopes of Mount Collins through Sevier County before linking up with the Middle Fork in Sevierville. Pigeon Forge occupies a narrow valley along this river between Sevierville and Gatlinburg. High ridges surround Pigeon Forge on three sides, with Pine Mountain to the west, Shields Mountain to the east, and Cove Mountain to the south. A bend in the Little Pigeon provides the city's northern border with Sevierville, and a narrow gorge cut by the river between Cove Mountain and Shields Mountain acts as the city's boundary with Gatlinburg.

Family Vacation in Gatlinburg Tennessee - Great Smoky Mountains National Park
Downtown Gatlinburg TN and the Great Smoky Mountains National Park.
EPIC MOTOR!!! 1978 Otis/GAL Hydraulic Elevator at Mountain Mall, Gatlinburg, TN
This is a RARE find!!! A Otis with GAL. Yes these fixtures are actually originally as Otis occasionally used GAL In the Late 70s and Early 80s rather than Series 1 or Lexan as a custom model. This thing has an AMAZING dry powered hydraulic motor that doesn't exactly sound like the old scenic Dovers' at RF but still AMAZING!!! 22408aaron and Cannycart have filmed here.

OBER GATLINBURG TN TOUR & AERIAL TRAMWAY RIDE
A must-see Smokies Attraction is Ober Gatlinburg. Most famous for being the state of Tennessee’s only Ski and Snowboard Area and although winter is definitely their peak season, they keep their doors open when the snow melts as well! It’s a year-round destination that's worth visiting no matter the season. It has plenty activities for ALL ages and is a place everyone can enjoy.
At the end of the day– dine together & travel together in style via the Aerial Tramway! It’s ONE OF AMERICA’S LARGEST AERIAL TRAMWAYS Soaring over 11,000 feet above Gatlinburg, Tennessee. The two 120-passenger counter-balanced cars provides an amazing aerial experience for all ages. They depart from downtown Gatlinburg and lift you up directly to the Amusement Park and Ski Area.
History:
The tramway was completed August of 1973 and is now celebrating it’s 45th anniversary. Having carried MILLIONS OF PEOPLE to Ober Gatlinburg!
This cable car will take you on a breathtaking 2.-mile ride up to the Amusement Park & Ski Area. The Tram station is located at Parkway and LeConte Street in downtown Gatlinburg (1001 Parkway).
ICE SKATING AT OBER GATLINBURG Once at the top There’s plenty to do. Strap on a pair of skates and glide around Ober’s indoor ice arena! The 140′ X 75′ indoor ice arena is the centerpiece of Ober Gatlinburg’s enclosed mall and is open year-round.
ICE BUMPER CARS AT OBER GATLINBURG
These round tubes have wheels and their own motor which lets you glide around the ice with ease. The controls are a like playing a video game, smash into other cars or simply sit and spin in circles!
SKI MOUNTAIN COASTER ride begins with a 1000 ft tree-covered and relaxing ride to the top, simply enjoys the view to the top of mountainside. Once at the top, riders are now in control of their own speed for the next 2750 ft of turns, dips, zig-zags, corkscrews and G-force adventures.
ALPINE SLIDE AT OBER GATLINBURG
since 1976! The Alpine Slide continues to be a huge hit at Ober Gatlinburg. Take the Scenic Chairlift to the midway point, then once you unload, your “chariot” awaits! These sled-like carts have a push/pull lever so you can control your speed as you wind down either of the 1800’ parallel tracks.
SCENIC CHAIRLIFT the most peaceful rides the Chair lift allows you to see the best view in the Smokies without hiking. It is the longest Chairlift of its kind in the United States and takes you to the peak of Mount Harrison.
Fun facts:
The Towers used on our Scenic Lift were built for the 1956 Cortina D’Ampezzo, Italy Winter Olympic Games, but were not actually used for them. The Gatlinburg Ski Corporation bought them to create the lift for the “Big John” slope.
Made of pure steel, these towers can last indefinitely with proper care. They have been upgraded including new drive system and chairs in 2014.
ANIMAL FRIENDS AT OBER Wildlife Encounter is proud to share with visitors the black bear family, including Minnie and BJ, and their now grown 6 yr olds, Holly and Chief.

includes various species of native Smokies wildlife such as raccoons, skunks, flying squirrels, turtles and snakes.
The Wildlife Encounter is a privately funded, municipally sponsored zoo, licensed by the U.S.D.A. as an exhibitor. It has been put in place to provide people with an up close viewing of native wildlife in a safe environment.
