[100% CANADA VIBES] - Terrace & Prince Rupert, BC
Terrace
Winter 2017.
We boarded a flight from Vancouver to visit our friend.
Someone told me that Terrace is super famous for ice fishing, and that a celebrity comes to Terrace every single year to do just that, but we opted to eat and take nice pics.
Our first major find was a huge pub with a bear motif. Apparently, wee walked smack dab in the middle of karaoke night.
We also had a long journey to Prince Rupert through the rugged Canadian landscape. We unloaded at Crest hotel, where the restaurant showcased the best fish and chips we’d ever eaten.
I’m not exaggerating, everything we ate in Terrace was incredible.
We were sad to leave Jane, but our memories in Terrace will always fill us with good cheer.

Mt ROBSON. Hiking Berg Trail..kinney lake.
CONRAD KAIN, A.H. MAcCARTHY and W.W. FOSTER reached the summit of Mt.Mount Robson in 1913.
Mount Robson Provincial Park is a vast provincial park in the Canadian Rockies with an area of 2,249 km². The park is located entirely within British Columbia, bordering Jasper National Park in Alberta. The B.C. legislature created the park in 1913, the same year as the first ascent of Mount Robson by a party led by Conrad Kain. It is the second oldest park in the provincial system.[1] The park is named for Mount Robson, which has the highest point in the Canadian Rockies and is located entirely within the park.
The first recreational trail was built in 1913 by Jasper outfitter Donald Curly Phillips along the Robson River to Berg Lake.In 1893, five years after the expedition of A.P. Coleman to Athabasca Pass and the final settling of the mistaken elevations of Mt. Hooker and Mt. Brown, Mt. Robson was first surveyed by James McEvoy and determined to be the highest peak in the Canadian Rockies.[6] The first documented ascent of Mount Robson, led by the young guide Conrad Kain, at its time the hardest ice face to be climbed on the continent, was achieved during the 1913 annual expedition organized by a large party of Alpine Club of Canada members who made use of the newly completed Grand Trunk Pacific railway to access the area. Prior to 1913, it had been necessary to approach the mountain by pack train from Edmonton or Laggan via Jasper and Lucerne, so only few intrepid explorers had made previous attempts at exploring the mountain. The most famous early ascensionist was the Reverend George Kinney, a founding member of the Alpine Club, who on his twelfth attempt in August 1909 claimed to have reached the summit with local outfitter Donald Curly Phillips. A major controversy over this claim and over the implausible nature of his unlikely and dangerous route dominated the discourse within the Alpine Club elite, and he is now generally presumed to have reached the high summit ridge before being turned back at the final ice dome of the peak.[7] Kinney Lake, below the south face, is named in his honour.Music:
