Eagle's Rock, Glenade, County Leitrim, Ireland
Find the magic of Ireland at Eagle’s Rock in rural Glenade, County Leitrim, Ireland, land of the five glens and silence except for sheep, raven, and streams. At the summit, there’s a wreckage of a US B-27 that crashed during World War II with 19 people aboard. The people of the area brought the injured soldiers down the mountain in the dead of night. Seventeen men survived the crash. A woman served tea all night, using her month’s ration. After the war, the US government gave the woman a lifetime supply of tea. If you go and want a direct route and only one barbed wire fence to cross, take the track up the hill to the left of the car park. The scenic track is four times longer and more exhilarating and beautiful, with about 15 barbed wire fences to cross. Walking sticks help once you ascend the summit. It’s at a 75 degree or more angle.

White-tailed eagles, Mull - 3rd June 2013.
Taken from a boat, so too many people (photographers obviously, hence the shutter clicks) in the way to film the low swoops properly.
