This is one of the famous and important point, we can exparience the magic of nature here. There is a tar road from the bir Lake towards this valley from north side. we can see cofee plantation on the way where we going towards this point. This is at 4km. from Bir Lake. This is very deep valley. The five hills edges are connected naturally which is also connected all valley and finally its becomes a comman huge valley. we can heard reflected sounds five time's when shouted louded there. That's why this point is known as Five Eco Point or commonly called Panchbol Point. Actually we can heard four return voice is to heard, the fifth one is not clearly heard.

This point is nearer to the shakkar lake and it is at 1.5km. from Chikhaldara Busstation. we have to go down by using steps.There is a temple of Goddess inside the huge stone. We have to enter the temple carefully because the height is very short. The water is falling continuously from that stone inside the temple. The overflow water falling from shakkar lake is looking like a waterfall. This Goddess is main and important holy place for 'Korku'. There is an ancient cave temple named Devi Point. The temple is located by the bank of one of the lakes called Shakkar Talav, and the resident deity has no name and is known simply as 'Devi'. An underground cave temple, supposedly formed naturally, has water drizzling from its roof all through the year. Until a few years ago, the temple was completely natural, devoid of any modern paraphernalia like tiles.

Featured in the epic of the Mahabharata, this is the place where Bheema killed the villainous Keechaka in a herculean bout and then threw him into the valley. It thus came to be known as Keechakadara—Chikhaldara is its corruption.

But there's more to Chikhaldara. The sole hill resort in the Vidarbha region, it is situated at an altitude of 1118 m with highest vairat point 1188m and has the added dimension of being the only coffee-growing area in Maharashtra. Chikhaldara has an annual rainfall of 154cm. Temperature varies from 39C in summer to 5C in winter. Best months to visit are from October to June.

It abounds in wildlife—Tiger, panthers, sloth bears, sambar, wild boar, and even the rarely seen wild dogs. Close by is the famous Melghat Tiger Project which has 82 tigers.

The scenic beauty of Chikhaldara can be enjoyed from Hurricane Point, Prospect Point, and Devi Point. Other interesting excursions include Gavilgad and Narnala Fort, the Pandit Nehru Botanical Gardens, the Tribal Museum and the Semadoh Lake.
Chikaldara was discovered by Captain Robinson of the Hyderabad Regiment in 1823. The Englishmen found it particularly attractive because the lush green hue of the place reminded them of England. As of 2001 India census,[1] Chikhaldara had a population of 4718. Males constitute 58% of the population and females 42%.
Chikhaldara has an average literacy rate of 80%, higher than the national average of 59.5%; with male literacy of 86% and female literacy of 72%. 12% of the population is under 6 years of age.

A hill station with tigers in the vicinity! How does that sound? Dangerous or interesting? Well, there is actually nothing to fear but only to enjoy when you plan a visit to the quiet hill station of Chikhaldara where you will be transported to a serene zone of just flora and fauna. In fact, if you are really looking for a place to unwind, Chikhaldara is where you should be.

Chikhaldara is located about 100 kilometers north of Amravati and is the only hill station of its kind in the Vidarbha region. It is situated on a mountain range beyond which Maharashtra ends and Madhya Pradesh begins. At a height of 1,088 meters above sea level, Chikhaldara has flourished in terms of flora and fauna because of the good rainfall it receives as compared to other parts of Vidarbha. But what really adds value to Chikhaldara is that it is surrounded on three sides by the borders of the Melghat Project Tiger Area which is spread over an area of about 1,676 square kilometers.

The Project Tiger area is divided into several smaller wildlife reserves and the Melghat Wildlife Reserve, which is about 780 square kilometers, makes for the entire southern border and partly the western border of Chikhaldara. The Gugamal National Park, which is about 320 square kilometers, is the core zone of the Project Tiger reserve and forms the eastern border of Chikhaldara and partly its northeastern border.

In fact, given the spread of the region, Chilkhaldara and Melghat Project Tiger (MPT) are like closely bonded kin. The MPT area is home to about 700 species of plants belonging to 400 genres and 97 different families. Of these 700 species, 90 are tree species and they make for the true treasure of this reserve. It is this amazing floral diversity that has also groomed a wide range of fauna. According to the last count, the tiger reserve has over 70 tigers along with almost the same number of leopards. It also has about 200 sloth bears, 1,800 Indian gaurs and hundreds of herbivore animals like Cheetal, Sambar, Barking Deer, Wild Boar, Choushinga, etc. The reserve also has rare animals like the Flying Squirrel, Pangolin, Mouse Deer, Ratel and Honey Badger.

If you want to hire any vehicle or want to take a bus to reach Chikhaldara, you have to go to Amravati first. The distance to Nagpur is approximately 230 kilometers which is the nearest airport. For a Pune or Mumbai resident, the travelling distance is about 750 kilometers. There are many luxury buses that ply on the Mumbai – Aurangabad – Nagpur highway. The best season to visit Chikhaldara is from October to June.

The nearest airport is Nagpur which is 230 kms away.

By Rail:
Nearest railway station is Amravati, 100 kms away. It is the main town as well.

By Road:
For a Pune or Mumbai resident, the travelling distance is about 750 kms.
