A weekend at Yilan - RobHam ep.6
We left on a Friday night after class at around 10:00pm to Yilan. Yilan is 1 hour or so away from Taipei City going by bus. 7 adventurers with planned activities ready for what Yilan is offering us. On the second day, I didn't record much 'cause I was exhausted and had to come back ealier 'cause of responsabilities, so yeah! We didn't do all the activities you could probably be wondering we should've done but probably in the near future we will for sure do them, so stay tuned!

Nos fuimos un viernes por la noche después de clases, aproximadamente a las 10:00pm rumbo a Yilan. La ciudad está aproximadamente a una hora hacia el sur-este de Taiwan en bus. Durante el segundo día, no grabé mucho por el cansancio y la batería de la cámara y tuve que regresar antes que todos por las responsabilidades.
No hicimos todas las actividades que posíblemente tuvimos que haber hecho, pero probablemente en el futuro cercano lo haremos, así que pendientes!

FOOD IN TAIWAN (Hualien, Yilan, Taipei)
1. 鹅肉先生鹅肉 (Mr Goose)
It's a popular shop, tastes so-so.
2. A-zone 红豆奶挫冰 (Red bean with milk shaved ice)
Just so-so.
3. 蒋家棺材板奶油蟹肉 (Zhuang Jia Coffin bread)
Better than the one I had elsewhere, worth a try.
4. 北港春捲原味 (Bei Gang spring roll)
Healthy option.
5. 看巷小燒麻糬吧 (Roasted mochi)
Nice atmosphere, worth going. Mochi's so-so.
6. 炸弹洋葱饼 (Fried egg in onion pancake)
One of the best street food in the list. With runny yolk.
7. 公正包子 (Gongzheng Baozi)
Very cheap buns and xiaolongbao.
8. 林记考香麦 (Lin Ji grilled sweetcorn)
The raw corn for sampling tasted better. Can't taste the sweetness after it's grilled.
9. 春卷冰淇淋 (Ice cream spring roll)
Ice-cream surprisingly tastes good with parsley.
10. 第一家烤肉串
Waiting time is between 1-3 hours. Didn't think it was worth the wait.
11. 曾师傅麻糬 (Master Zeng mochi)
You must try the peanut.
12. 小周牛肉面 (Xiao Zhou beef noodles)
Just so-so.
13. 西施包子店 (Xi Shi Baozi)
Just a random shop we passed, the bun was alright.
14. 林肯焗烤香肠 (Lincoln grilled sausage)
In Luodong night market. Everything goes well with cheese.
15. 幸福堂黑糖奶茶 (Xing Fu Tang Bubble Tea)
Has brown sugar pearls, it's good.
16. 三星葱肉串 (San Xing Skewers)
Spring onions wrapped in meat. Was alright.
17. 华记龙凤腿 (Hua Ji Chicken Thigh)
Not bad.
18. 蚝蛋包 (Fried oyster egg bun)
Just so-so.
19. 臭薯条 (Stinky tofu fries)
Was alright with nacho cheese.
20. 小春卜肉 (Xiao Chun fried pork)
Not bad.
21. 梅子番茄汁 (Plum with tomato juice)
Interesting taste. Refreshing.
22. 奶酥土司 (Milk toast)
At Taipingshan's Sea Cloud cafe. Just so-so.
23. 小春糕渣 (Xiao Chun fried pork)
Interesting texture, but I don't know what it is.
24. 满汉大餐麻辣炝牛面 (Man Han beef instant noodles)
With real meat, not bad.
Other options: Yi Du Zhan Beef instant noodles, TTL Chicken instant noodles.
25. 眼睛咖啡饭團 (Rice balls)
At Megane cafe. Healthy option but just so-so. Their drinks are good.
26. Milch 起司蛋糕 (Cheese cake)
Must try. They have hot and cold options.
27. 京都栗子烧香酥芋泥 (Pancakes with yam)
Just so-so.
28. 火焰骰子牛 (Huoyanshaiziniu)
Grilled beef cubes. Not bad.
29. 老兵奶油螃蟹 (Lao Bing Butter Crab)
Not worth it. Crab was not defrosted well.
30. 奶油明太子總匯海鲜扁麵 (Mentaiko seafood spaghetti)
At Campus cafe, it's good.
31. 费城起司牛肉帕尼尼 (Beef with Philadelphia cheese Panini)
At Campus cafe. One of the best in the list.
32. 经典番茄肉酱贝壳面 (Bolognese)
At Woosa cafe. It's just bolognese but it's not bad.
33. 经典蜂蜜冰淇淋松饼 (Ice-cream souffle pancake)
At Woosa cafe. It's light and good.

Hi all,
Although this starts at day 3, I can't seem to find my day 1 and 2 video footage at the moment...
Co-ordinated by myself and the TB Taiwanese Club, the people here have been very hospitable arranging historic and scenic site visits. Today I visit the countryside with PaulCY.
I want to publicly thank PaulCY for taking the day off his graduate work at his university, driving me to these places and treating me to dinner. This ranks up there as one of the nicest things one of my Tetris fans have done and I will never forget it.
Along with learning about the history and culture of Taiwan...I'm my usual silly self.

我們這次去宜蘭兩天！宜蘭真的很好玩！因為離台北很近，所以很方便去。
我們從台北騎機車。去看五峰旗瀑布，去礁溪的溫泉，羅東夜市。 隔天早上去烏石港衝浪，頭城的伯朗咖啡館，還有最後回台北的時候在月牙灣停下來看看！
