Mount Maunganui - There's No Place Like Home
A short film that I have created, filmed and edited that took me 7 weeks to complete,
It's purpose is to showcase and capture my perspective of Mount Maunganui and see it through my eyes.
Capturing some of our local talents, as well as the beautiful mauao, the landscape, the beach and the summer lifestyle.
With this film i am able to share my view, connect and work with people with the same goals.
I would like to thank everyone who was apart of this fun project, and made my visuals come through.
Also would like to thank you Ngai TeRangi for jumping on board supporting my work, Special tahnks to Reon for the commentary intro and the korero.
Just want to encourage everyone to go out and explore youre surroundings.

Luxury Waterfront Private Resort
Own your own private gated Resort right here in New Zealand.
This is a property for the serious-those moving comfortably in seven figure circles, who appreciate fine living and don't quibble about price because they know quality when they see it.
Panoramic unobstructed ocean and beach views and tropical gardens enliven this superb 663m2 (approximate) residence beautifully set on 1401m2 stretching from Marine Parade to Muricata Avenue with access from both. A private gated entry introduces the home with drive-in entry and exit through the portico, and a home that features exceptional indoor-outdoor spaces tailor-made for relaxed enjoyment and entertaining.
Kerry Avery, from Avery Team Architecture in Auckland, designed the contemporary sophisticated home for generous family living, with pitched ceilings offering height and overhead natural light in living areas. Split levels add interest to the various entertainment areas as well.
Upstairs focuses on family living, entertainment and views. Lounge and dining expand outside to a sheltered balcony that basks in stunning ocean panorama-thanks to low dunes along this stretch of Marine Parade. Overhead, motorised louvres allow sun or shade, while other balconies-off both sides of family living- give sun all day and shelter from breeze. Gas fires sit in both family and lounge-polished black fossil slabs in the lounge typifying this home's finish.
It shows in the gourmet kitchen featuring American oak floors, lacquered cabinetry with black granite bench tops enhancing the class. Bathroom luxury provides spa baths in the master and family bathroom-both generous to a fault with custom vanities. A walk through dressing room in the master suite is impressive with custom made built-in furniture.
Downstairs, the guest suite moves through bathroom facilities to step into a Pacific Rim style living room, including full kitchen, finished with imported lattice timber doors and granite benches. Large glazing on two sides links this room with outside recreation- its basalt floor paving matching the outdoors in a self-contained suite when pool and tennis beckon.
Also downstairs is an executive office, air-conditioned wine cellar- racked and ready for nearly 1200 bottles- huge garaging and gymnasium also used as a guest overflow room. A private spa pool nestled amongst the palms outside the gym. A dedicated boat park is gated and secure with its own driveway off Muricata Avenue.
Specs are many and impressive, including full automation- in lighting, touch-control electric blinds, audio and telecommunications throughout the home, plus movement proximity sensors on gates and entry doors.
The home features four bedrooms, executive office, three luxury bathrooms, gourmet granite kitchen, family room, guest suite with lounge and full kitchen, lift, racked 1100 bottle wine cellar, gymnasium/spa, four car garaging, 14.5m L-shaped heated pool with fishtail waterfall, synthetic floodlit tennis court, dedicated boat parking.
The location allows you to walk to restaurants and cafes should you desire.
This distinctive property is Mount Maunganui's finest home for sale on the Golden Mile waterfront, I would be delighted to show you, call me for a private viewing.

Mount Maunganui, New Zealand
For more great information, photos and video about New Zealand, see PleaseTakeMeTo's New Zealand Travel Guide -
Mount Maunganui is a thriving coastal resort town located at the tip of the southern entrance to the Bay of Plenty. On the harbour side of The Mount lies Pilot Bay, an idyllic and sheltered area perfect for swimming, kayaking and boating, while on the coastal edge the warm, clear waters of the Mount Main Beach offer great surf conditions for all.
There are plenty of Cafes, restaurants, shops and specialty stores to browse through in town, and for those seeking adventure a great hiking track to the summit of 'Mauao' that rewards with stunning 360 degree views of the entire bay and tranquil coast. Nestled at the base of Mauao are the Mount Hotpools. You can relax in one of the hot salt water pools, with water at different temperatures to suit any taste. A great place to unwind or spend time with the family.
Mount Maunganui, Most Beautiful Beach of New Zealand - Video3
You just can’t beat the Mount’s Main Beach.
This is the ultimate spot to swim, surf and sunbathe and this glorious stretch of golden sand has been voted the best beach in the country.
In fact, visitors have also ranked it the second best beach in the South Pacific and among the top 25 beaches in the world according to Trip Advisor.
You’ll find thousands of beachgoers every day here in summer but there’s more than enough room for you to spread out on the sizzling sand and enjoy a dip in the warm ocean waves.
Sea temperatures can reach 21°C or more in summer so this is a popular place to swim. Conditions are generally safe but waves can occasionally be rough and rips can form. The Mount Maunganui surf lifeguards regularly patrol this beach so look for their flags to find the safest area to swim.
This beach sits at the base of Mauao, Mt Maunganui’s iconic mountain, and runs for approximately 1km along to Moturiki (Leisure) Island.
Moturiki is connected to the beach by a man-made land bridge and features a spectacular blowhole at the far end of the island which bursts into life during a large swell or high tide. It’s also a great place to enjoy panoramic ocean views and look back along the coastline. A well-formed walking track will lead you from the beach right to the very top and takes about 15 minutes.
Moturiki Island is also the best place to fish in this area because the beach itself is usually too busy for surf-casting. You can catch snapper, kahawai and gurnard off the rocks here.
Surfers and boogie boarders love the Main Beach and you’ll find hundreds of people riding waves of all sizes here. Sign up for a surf lesson and hire a board on the sand dunes beside the beach. Local surf instructors teach complete newbies through to experienced surfers who want a hand refining their technique. You can often find a good left-hand break off the northern (Mauao) end of the beach, or a good right-hand wave at the southern end.
Main Beach is also a fantastic place to people-watch. You’re likely to come across both impromptu and organised games of beach volleyball, soccer, cricket and more. National and regional surf lifesaving competitions are held on this beach in summer, drawing large crowds and lots of other entertainment.
Car parking is available right along the beach, although it’s extremely busy during weekends and over summer. Public toilets can be found at Mt Drury Reserve opposite Moturiki (Leisure) Island, and a popular boardwalk runs the full length of Main Beach up behind the sand dunes.
Right across the road you’ll find a string of cafes and restaurants where you can grab a coffee and something delicious to eat, or an ice-cold treat from one of the local ice-cream parlours.
The Mount’s Main Beach is extremely popular because it ticks every box – a fantastic place to relax and have fun with the whole family.
