Mt Toolbrunup Summit Climb, Stirling Range - Western Australia (1 of world's most ancient landscape)
This video is about climbing the summit of Mt Toolbrunup in the Stirling Range of Western Australia – via the Southern Ascent (the quickest and easiest ascent).
Whilst Mount Toolbrunup is the second highest peak in the Stirling Range at 1,052 m, it is a more difficult and rewarding climb than the higher Bluff Knoll (highest Peak at 1,099m).
Mt. Toolbrunup is a proper top-of-the-world hike in one of the most ancient landscapes on the planet. It's a short sharp hike with some challenging boulder fields and scree slopes. The pay-off is relative solitude and superb 360 degree views. We saw one other hiker the day we climbed Mt. Toolbrunup. So, if you're fit, agile and have great balance, add this Western Australian beauty to your hiking bucket list!

Disclaimer: We climbed Mount Trio and Toolbrunup. They are both very dangerous climbs especially if you're carrying camera equipment. They have loose rocks. It is a mountain risk area. Make sure you are fit, agile and have good footwear.

1st attempt at video upload. Low and behold camera batteries went flat right when I started recording. Had to then improvise with a sort of slide show.
Now building up to the next hill.

We are drawn to the wild places and Bluff Knoll is no exception. The highest peak in the Stirling Ranges National park it forms part of the Stirling Ridge Hike and seems to command its own climate system, unpredictable and raw.
In this 2 part series Jess and Kyle pack everything we need on our backs and take on one of Western Australia's most challenging and notorious hikes. Join us as we spend a night in the clouds.

Starting in Perth we drove 250k's down the coast to Busselton where we saw the 2km long jetty. From here we headed 50k's further south to Margaret River regions with lots of surf beaches, wineries and breweries near by. We camped for a couple of days then continues to travelled South East towards Denmark and Albany, when we decided we had tasted enough wine and we'd been scared out the surf by some big waves…
Whilst staying in between Denmark and Albany we visited Greens Pool, Elephant Rocks, The Gap, Whale Rock and the most southerly point in Western Australia, West Cape Howe National Park. All with beautifully clear - but cool Southern Ocean water.
On the final night we started to travel north back towards Perth stopping to camp in Stirling Range National Park around 100k's north of Albany, at the base of Mount Trio. We aimed to summit Mount Trio (855m) early the next morning and hoped that the sun would rise over Bluff Knoll (1099m) on the horizon at 6AM.
Thanks for watching.
