Here's our DIY camping to Mt. Balagbag. All the products you see and we said, are not sponsored, and if they were, we have tried and tested them and have passed our standards when it comes to outdoors and survival.

So Riel and I decided to go up the mountains and spend the night in Mt. Balagbag, Rodriguez Rizal. I’ve been through a lot of hikes but never stayed overnight (I wasn’t able to sleep haha) Passing through rough terrain on our way was definitely an adventure. It’s been awhile since the last time Riel went back to this place and the trails had changed a lot. We met this cat and named her “Mountain” one of the sweetest and most gentle cat we’ve ever met.

Mt. Balagbag | Vlog

Here’s a short vlog of our recent day-hike in Mt. Balagbag + side trip at Otso-otso falls.

Me and Randy decided to hike here to experience the trail adventure, see the stunning overlook view, and relaxing ambient sound at its summit.

Using our mobile phones (can’t afford yet DSLR camera) we made this vlog and film the beauty of Mt. Balagbag to share some tips and guides.


How to get there:
- Ride a bus/jeep going to Tungko.
- Alight at Tungko, then go to BDO building. There is a jeepeney terminal behind it.
- Go directly to the last line of jeepneys and look for those with Licao-Licao signboard. Fare is 27 pesos, about one hour travel time.
- From Licao-Licao, you may choose between riding a trike which will cost you 30 pesos each or just walk to the barangay hall which is considered the official jump-off.

Mt. Balagbag is located in Rodriguez, Rizal, Philippines. A favorite place for hikers and mountain bikers as it is conveniently located within a two-hour proximity from Metro Manila.

Our group don't know how to go to the place but we decided to go. We got lost but eventually found our way back and arrived in our destination. It turns out that it's the most beautiful place that I've ever seen in my life.
