BANDILAAN, SIQUIJOR ISLAND - The School of Evangelism trekked to the highest center of the Island of Siquijor in the Philippines to give THANKSGIVING unto GOD and offered NEW PRAYER unto GOD for the Island and it's needs. Christians have been redeeming Siquijor Island over the past decades from it's dark reputation in the past. Siquijor belongs to JESUS!

SIQUIJOR IN MY HANDS | TRAVEL FILM
Take a look of this Enhanting Beauty of Siquijor!
The Spaniards named this small island in the Visayas, Siquijor or Isla del Fuego. Stories told that the name was given due to the intensity of fireflies that lie some 22 km east of Southern Negros. It was said that Siquijor rose from the sea during one of the tremendous thunderstorms as evidenced by fossils and shells which can still be found in Mount Bandila-an, the highest point of Siquijor. The small island boasts of a white sand beach coastline and a mountainous interior.
Apart from the beauty of the island, Siquijor has become known for the existence of witches and the practice of witchcraft among some residents of the island. These are folk legends to some, but reality to others. It’s up to you to decide whether to believe or not. What is important is that when visitors come to Siquijor, they should always be polite and should always exercise caution and respect to the residents. -
We stayed in this enchanting island for 5 days! And believe me or not but you have to! It is the craziest trip I've ever had in my life, maybe because it's my first time being in a place where we spend our own money, look for a shelter, food, not being told by parents where to go and what to do! I just can't explain all of it but it really is the most amazing trip I've ever had!
I had a little doubt coming into this place because there are a lot of romours about witches performing witchcrafts but what we've experienced was the total opposite! People are so generous enough in helping us whenever we're lost, and something bad is about to happen. The people are just so kind to us.
So GUYS! Siquijor Island really is a MUST travel location!

SIQUIJOR ECOTOURISM BEST PRACTICES
NATURAL HEALING FESTIVAL, MYSTICAL SIQUIJOR, PHILIPPINES
Thousands of tourists and visitors flocked to the MYSTICAL island of SIQUIJOR for the annual festival held at Bandilaan Mountain View Park. This province has become known Worldwide as the center that promotes natural healing.
Tree bark, roots, herbs, dirt, insects and other 'secret' ingredients are thrown into a large cauldron filled with coconut oil. It is believed that supernatural forces roam the earth and share their healing powers to those who seek their assistance.
Some sorcerers concoct 'love potions' or make amulets that are know to make their owners invisible! I personally witnessed and videotaped four healings and cures right before my eyes.....No tricks!

captured on our recent holiday in Siquijor, this is how we waited out the rain at the Guiwanon Spring Park, where we had this viewing deck all to ourselves amidst the mangroves and the sea.

How have we got this far!? Vlog 5, Siquijor Island, Enjoy!! Loved it? Don't forget to SUBSCRIBE!
So what did we get up to in Siquijor Island??
Firstly, we arrived by ferry from Oslob to Siquijor Island, only a 2 hour hop across the ocean, they have ferries running twice a day; 1 arriving to Siqujor in the morning... one arriving back to Oslob in the evening.
We spent 6 nights at the Garden Bungalows Resort on Siquijor Island, a quiet, scenic location, no traffic or people around to disturb your time spent relaxing in their garden or swimming pool :)
Expect A LOT of nature around you at Garden Bungalows Resort in Siquijor... we were surrounded day and night by ants, frogs, geckos, cats and at times, mosquitos of course!
We also met our lovely travel friend Grietje ie 'Travel Gretl' on YouTube check out her channel here
Tourist Attractions Siquijor Island
1. Old Balete Tree
We went here via moped, not far from San Juan on Siquijor, just follow the main road around until you see it! At the old tree there is a pond, you can sit and dangle your feet in there whilst many fish swarm around you and nibble on them! Interesting haha! You must try it though if you're coming to Siquijor Island.
2. Cambugahay Falls
Did I spell it correctly? not sure, but cambugahay falls is a MUST SEE attraction on Siquijor Island... don't forget your swimming stuff!
The falls are made up of 3 levels, all within easy walking distance of one another... and 2 of which you can jump in from rope swings!
We didn't get chance to do this on the day we chose to visit cambugahay falls, as the rain came down HARD on us, with all our camera equipment on our person. Next time, we will only arrive here with swimming gear and a few hundred pesos for entry / paying for the swings etc!
3. Paliton Beach
We absolutely loved our time here at Paliton Beach. Again, not far from the main town of San Juan on Siquijor island, it's not easy to find this place however! Don't expect big signs or people knowing where you'll need to turn to find this beautiful beach... but keep turning down roads and you'll eventually find it i promise haha!
Few people were around on the day we chose to visit Paliton Beach; the sands are soft, the water is warm and there's a few areas for shade too. Perfect! Add this place on your 'things to do' on Siquijor Island.
4. Salagdoong Beach
We'd seen a lot of videos of people jumping into the ocean at Salagdoong beach, situated a bit further around the island away from San Juan, but worth the extra 20 / 30 minutes drive!
There's always going to be a lot of people here, tour buses, tourists on mopeds or hiring tricycles here... it's a hotspot for sure! We still loved our time at Salagdoong, snorkeling, flying the drone and Tom even managed to jump in the ocean from one of the platforms, 20ft high!
5. Bandilaan National Park
Although most of our time on Siquijor Island was spent around the coastal areas, we did give up one day to explore the heart of the island...
Bandilaan National Park is an amazing place, much cooler here under all the mangroves, hardly anyone around too... you can imagine this place being quite spooky during halloween time!
We climbed up to the top of the viewing tower, saw a 360 view of the whole of Siquijor from here which is cool! Just a shame we couldn't capture it on film with it being so misty up top. One thing to note, be careful on the road leading you through the mangrove, it's incredibly slippy!
6. Apo Island Tour with Coco Grove beach resort
Even though we loved our time on Siquijor Island, this day tour with coco grove beach resort to Apo Island had to be our highlight!
Swimming with turtles, snorkelling heaven, we were well looked after by coco grove... highly recommend this day tour!
Neither of us have swam with turtles before, so to get this close and personal with them at Apo Island, we will treasure these memories for a lifetime!
To Summarise
If you are going to travel to Siquijor Island, we highly recommend you hiring a moped to get around, visiting all of the tourist attractions and of course sparing a full day for the Apo Island tour with coco grove beach resort.
There's plenty of places to eat in San Juan including; U story, Monkey Business and Baha Bar to name a few!
FINALLY, no we did not come across any witchcraft on Siquijor Island. We really hoped to hear and maybe see something, but afraid not. In fact all the locals we spoke to talked us down, said it was all nonsense to bring people to the island. Such a shame... but we still believe there must be something here.
Enjoy Siquijor Island!
Next stop Moalboal before Cebu City, then we leave for Vietnam!
