A 30km trail race in Ogose, Saitama, Japan.
Ogose is in the Chichibu mountains, about 100km north west of Tokyo.

Some moments from climbing mountain. Station is called Yokoze. Can return to the other side of mountain to station called Urayamaguchi. Not far from Tokyo, nice dayhike. Trail is also well kept by mining company. From station might need to take taxi as trail entrance is a bit far from station.
Mountain lost one half it due to limestone mining. Below you can see cement producing factories.

This is one of Japan's POWERSPOTS, the shrine of Emamiya in Chichibu city, Saitama prefecture, People come to drink from the fresh natural water and also pray. For a small donation, people bring wedding rings and other personal affects to be cleansed and purified.

I went to Mt.Ryokami.
It is in Chichibu Tama Kai national park.
I try to complete the best 100 mountains in Japan.

There are many chain area and slope is so steep.
The Mountain requires physical and mental strength to us.

Chichibu Day Trip May 2017
Day trip to Chichibu - mountains a couple of hours north west of Tokyo.
It's Golden Week, and so we had a day trip up to the mountains of Chichibu. First Nagatoro, where you can ride the rapids in a wooden boat. Then to Chichibu station to see the pink flowers and a sheep.
A fun packed day for the whole family...!

About 17,600 m of moss pink of 9 kinds and about 400,000 stocks is planted by the area of 2 in hill of moss pink,
and the aspect applies pink and white and is separated from the beginning of April to the beginning of May.
Moss pink began to be planted from 2000 and many tourists increased in celebrity after that,
and started to visit. A special train is driven by Chichibu railroad and Seibu Railway at bloom time.
A special parking lot is established because it can't finish accommodating at all in the flowering period when a parking lot is in the park but a heavy traffic jam has occurred on the surrounding road.

Ride To/From Work (From Chichibu to Otaki) - over 2 hours :)
This is a 2 hour + movie showing the route from my home to and from a school located deep in Okuchichibu mountains where I teach. It is a route I do once or twice a week this year compared to up to 5 times a week in previous school years. The ride is always a pleasure cutting through sleepy mountain villages with spots that look like it was 1964 and not 2014 as well as beautiful views all around. However recently I've been threatened by a monkey troop leader whose group usually hangs around a small forrest road at about the I ride through. They are not there all the time and unfortunately on the day I filmed the route, they weren't, But when they are it is a bit stressful. Apart from that it is a beautiful route to ride although for some part I have no choice but to follow the national highway that is used by trucks going across these mountains to other prefectures.
