Mount Kalugong is known for their famous limestone rock formations. The trail going there might be easy but climbing rocks is not for the faint of heart. Nevertheless, if you are willing to see the scenic views of La Trinidad and experience standing (or sitting) atop of a rock formation, then it’s a must to visit and explore Mount Kalugong to see what it all offers.

You will be welcomed first by their friendly eco park where you can do your picnic with your friends. We asked if people can pitch a tent and they said that they allow it! There are swings and hammock around to enjoy yourselves with. We enjoyed it as there were few to no people at all, very different from the usual crowded ‘relaxing’ spots of Baguio City. They have a coffee shop too which is pretty cool.

From Eco Park, there’s an uphill trail to see their famous limestone rock formations. Honestly, it was a bit of a challenge to climb these rocks and see the majestic view of the town of La Trinidad. Since the rock surfaces are pretty smooth and sharp, you will really be needing some good rubber shoes that don’t slip off immediately. Nevertheless, once you reach the top, you’ll know it’s been worth it!

TIPS:
1. Go there early in the morning but not before 6am.
2. Raining? Postpone your trip.
3. Bring food.
4. Bring your trash with you.

La Trinidad, Benguet - Strawberry Farm and Mt. Kalugong | DJI Spark | Iphone XS

This Video features a couple of attractions in La Trinidad, Benguet namely Mount Kalugong and Strawberry Farm.

Mt. Kalugong Eco-Park is Located at Sitio Tayawan, La Trinidad, Benguet and is about 45 minutes away from Baguio City. Upon reaching the top of Mount Kalugong, you will be mesmerized by the view of the La Trinidad Valley. There are huts if you want to go on a picnic or have a great tasting cup of coffee at the Mt. Kalugong Kape-an coffee shop .

Strawberry Farm - is located in Barangay Betag of La Trinidad Benguet and is owned and maintained by Benguet State University. One activity that is highly recommended for tourists is strawberry picking right along side the Ibaloi farmers.

We decided we needed to see a bit of nature, so we headed up to Mount Kalugong in Baguio. None of the locals seemed to know anything about the hike, but with a bit of web research we were ready to start climbing the Kalugong to Mount Jumbo trail.
It was good to see the scenery and landscape of Baguio from up high, and break away from the heavily polluted city centre.
We saw the Kalugong summit and then a cemetery up high before heading into the next town of Barangay Tawan. The trail start to Mount Jumbo wasn't as easy to find and we end up getting quite lost. So we cut our losses and headed back to town to have dinner at Cafe by the Ruins which was lovely.
A great day in Baguio!

Wazzup guys kasama ko ang dalawang kaibigan ko pumunta kami sa Mt. kalugong para ma experience yung pag akyat sa Rock Formation at pag lakad lakad sa Eco Park. Maganda yung view sa Rock Formation at sobrang nakaka relax kapag nag lakad lakad na kayo sa maraming puno sa may Picnic area/ Eco Park. Nagstay kami dun hanggang hapon para maexperience ung sunset,Pagpupunta kayo sa may Rock Formation doble ingat lang kasi matutulis yung mga bato at mejo maninipis ung mga aapakan pag lilibutin niyo talga yung Rock Formation gaya ng ginawa namin sa video. Overnight stay is P800 to P900 good for two

From Baguio, ride a jeep going to Tomay/Camp Dangwa. (Near Centermall) Ask the driver to drop you off near the road going to Mt Kalugong.. If you have a car, you can drive up to the eco-park.
On the other hand, if you choose to walk/hike, just follow the road going up. Hiking takes about 30 minutes.
