Takeo Trip (Takeo, Japan) Travel VLOG 04
My trip to Takeo was amazing! We walked through Mifuneyama Rakuen, a garden that sadly was not in bloom yet. After Mifuneyama we made a quick trip to the Takeo Shrine where we visited a 3,000 year old tree. Then we toured the Saga Air and Space museum which had three floors full of fun and interesting things. We left Takeo and headed to Hotel Lorelei, here locally in Sasebo, where we finished our day off with a visit to my first Onsen and a nice dinner.

Mt. Mifune in Takeo city is also known as Mt. Karafune which literally means Chinese ship

花の名所、佐賀県武雄市、御船山楽園で開催する花まつりから、20万本のつつじが織り成す花の絶景です。武雄温泉のシンボルでもある標高210メートルの御船山を背景にすり鉢状の谷となっている「つつじ谷」では色とりどりの久留米ツツジや平戸ツツジが咲き誇る風景が楽しめるほか、夜には幻想的な光に包まれる躑躅のライトアップも行われます。
今回の映像では、過去に公開した4K映像の構成を変更すると共にカラースペースの変更と画素補完処理を行い、8K動画にアップコンバートいたしました。

The garden offers different scenery during each season.
This wandering garden spanning over 150,000 square meters including Mt. Mifune, took roughly 3 years to build in 1845.The garden is made by 28th Takeo lord Nabeshima Shigeyoshi.
This garden is designed by professional painter of Kano who is invited from Kyoto,
and has been certified in the country registered monuments in the prefecture's first.
Flowers such as cherry blossoms and azaleas, wisteria bloom in spring, evergreen and maple dyed crimson and make a stunning landscape and rocks of Mifuneyama, autumn you can enjoy the beautiful nature through the four seasons.

御船山楽園紅葉まつり Mt. Mifune Autumn Light-up
Mt. Mifune’s 210 m rocky face looks over a pond on the edge of Takeo City, a perfect place for a garden. The park dates from 1845, and each November, the vast area is lit up at dusk as the maples change from green into yellows and reds. One giant maple is as old as the park itself.
The gardens are also especially popular during the spring for the azaleas and cherry blossoms. Here’s a glimpse of the autumn colors.

Kyoto Festival: Autumn Leaves Festival at Jishu Shrine (Momiji Matsuri)
Jishu Jinja is a small shrine located on the grounds of the famous temple Kiyomizu-dera. Always bustling with visitors despite its modest size, Jishu Jinja is well-known as a love shrine, and many people drop by to ascertain their love fortunes, say a prayer, buy an enmusubi love charm, or walk between the two love rocks.
In November, the shrine is the site of the Momiji Matsuri (Autumn Leaves Festival). In a ritual, the shrine priests and shrine maidens give thanks to the enshrined gods for a good harvest and to the love god for his blessing, praying for prosperous businesses and safe families for those gathered. In an offering performed for the gods, a shrine priestess performs three dances: the Momiji no Mai, Tsurugi no Mai and Ōgi no Mai. In closing, the priests perform a hitakisai, a small fire ritual, as the sun begins to set over the Kyoto mountains.
Though the rituals last only an hour or so, the Momiji Matsuri at Jishu Jinja is an interesting opportunity to view Kiyomizu-dera's autumn leaves, pray for luck in love, and observe traditional dances as part of this autumn festival.

An afternoon and evening ride on a clear day when the cherry blossoms in the area where in full bloom. Areas visited were Yahazu and Niwaki dams in Takeo city, Arita River in Imari, Ryumon and Arita dams in Arita city. And night time viewing at Mifune park in Takeo city. Kyoto Festival: Cultural Performances at Nashinoki Shrine (Hagi Matsuri)
During the hagi (bush clover) season worshipers at Nashinoki Shrine near the Kyoto Imperial Palace write poetry on pieces of paper and tie them to the numerous bush clover plants on the shrine grounds. A haiku society meets at the shrine before the main festivities in order to compose, but the main attraction of the festival is the variety of performances presented on the main stage over the course of four whole days.
Nashinoki’s Bush Clover Festival offers more than most, presenting a program that includes ikebana flower arrangement, a performance of Ōkura style kyōgen, solo dance performances by several different schools of female dance, bugaku, musical pieces on shakuhachi flute and koto, as well as a kyūdō archery demonstration! Our team had the pleasure to capture some of the highlights of the festival period, and hope you have the chance to drop by and view it for yourself one day. There are not many other places you can treat yourself to such a wide range of cultural theater and arts, and the blooms of the hagi bushes surround the stage in a lush sea of green and red-purple. Sit back and enjoy what the Hagi Matsuri has to offer!

Just as they do with the viewing of the cherry blossoms in the spring, the people of Japan look forward to the colors of the autumn leaves.
In autumn, this small and narrow island nation becomes dyed in shades of red, and the beauty of these colors have captured our imagination since ancient times. During the Heian period it was common practice to enjoy the changing colors of the mountains from afar. But from the Edo period, people would lay out sheets under the autumn leaves and bring bento meals and sake for festivities that were comparable to those of cherry blossom viewing parties.
日本人は春の花見と同様、秋の紅葉狩りを楽しみにしている。
秋になると、この狭くて細長い島国をみるみる紅く染めていく、その美しさは古から私たちを魅了してきた。平安時代は紅葉の山を遠目に見て楽しむのが一般的だったが、江戸時代になると紅葉の下に幕を張り、お弁当やお酒を持ち込んで花見同様どんちゃん騒ぎをするようになった。
撮影場所の御船山楽園は第28代佐賀藩武雄領主の鍋島茂義が３年の歳月をかけて１８４５年に完成させた１５万坪を誇る池泉回遊式庭園。造園にあたっては、室町時代から江戸時代まで幕府の御用絵師を勤めた狩野派の絵師を京都より招き、今でいう完成予想図を書かせた。この庭園の秋の風景は昼もすばらしい美しさだが、特に夜のライトアップはその幻想的な美しさで広く知られている。

Judo (柔道 jūdō?, meaning gentle way) is a modern martial art, combat and Olympic sport created in Japan in 1882 by Jigoro Kano (嘉納治五郎). It highlights the competitive element, where the objective is to either throw (flip) or takedown an opponent to the ground, immobilize or otherwise subdue an opponent with a pin, or force an opponent to submit with a joint lock or a choke technique. Strikes and thrusts by hands and feet as well as weapons defenses are a part of judo training, but only in pre-arranged forms (kata, 形) and are not allowed in judo competition or free practice (randori, 乱取り). A judo practitioner is called a judoka.
