The name of the mountain was derived from the saw-toothed shape carved into the cliffs due to the frequent mining of high-quality Boshu stone which took place from the Edo Era into modern times. There is a ropeway to get to the peak of the mountain and from the observation point, the ocean, the mountains and, if you are lucky, even Mt. Fuji can be viewed. Mt. Nokogiri has Nihon-ji Temple which attracts many visitors.

Hiking Mt. Nokogiri in Chiba Prefecture, Japan
Went hiking Nokogiri-san and the Nihon-Ji temple with the greatest stone carved Buddha statue in Japan!
It is really nice, a lot of things to explore, but also slightly confusing. Check it out if you can.

Mt. Nokogiri Sawtooth Moutian | Chiba, Japan
We went to Mt. Nokogiri, or better known to some as Sawtooth Mountain. We took the Tokyo Wan Ferry from Yokosuka to Chiba. You can take the cable car or hike it like we did (it was a fairly easy hike). Once you're at the top there are all sorts of things to see, like the Hyaku-saku Kannon, or the Buddhist Goddess of Mercy, the largest Daibutsu in Japan, and the 1,500 stone Arhats, and of course the view of Hell's Valley from the saw itself.

Located in Chiba prefecture on the Boso peninsula by Tokyo bay and roughly facing Yokohama, Mount Nokogiri, or in Japanese Nokogiriyama, is a 330m tall mountain featuring the Nihon-ji Temple (Nihonji). Established over 1,300 years ago, Nihon-Ji Temple is actually one of Kanto area’ oldest temples and features many important Japanese cultural artifacts, including the 30m tall carving of Hyaku-Shaku Kanon, depicting the Buddhist Goddess of Mercy (1966), 1,500 statues of Buddhist disciples (rakan) and finally, the crown jewel of Nihon-Ji, the 31m tall Daibutsu (Big Buddha) carved in 1780 from the mountain itself.

Situe dans la préfecture de Chiba, sur la péninsule de Boso depuis la baie de Tokyo, et faisant face à Yokohama, le mont Nokogiri (Nokogiriyama) s'élève sur 330m et dissimule le temple Nihon-Ji. Construit il y a plus de 1300 ans, le temple Nihon-Ji est en réalité un des plus vieux temples de la région du Kanto (Chiba, Tokyo…) et contient de nombreux artefacts culturels japonais, dont une sculpture de Hyaku-Shaku Kanon, la déesse bouddhiste de la pitié (1966), haute de 30m. On y trouve également 1500 statues de disciples bouddhistes (rakan) ainsi que le trésor de Nihon-Ji : un grand Bouddha (Daibutsu) de 31m sculpté en 1780 sur le flanc de la montagne.

Chiba is the capital city of Chiba Prefecture, Japan. It sits about 40 kilometers southeast of the center of Tokyo on Tokyo Bay. Chiba City became a government-designated city in 1992.
Chiba is famous for the Chiba Urban Monorail, the longest suspended monorail in the world. Some popular destinations in the city include: Kasori Shell Midden, the largest shellmound in the world at 134,000 m2 (160,000 sq yd), Inage Beach, the first artificial beach in the nation which forms part of the longest artificial beach in Japan, and the Chiba City Zoological Park, popular on account of the standing red panda Futa.

Mt Nokogiri, Japan - Mavic Pro 2 first flight
I have to leave the house on my days off or else I get cabin fever, so the day trip from Tokyo, Mt Nokogiri, was the perfect place to spend it. Hiking, chilling and flying the new Mavic Pro 2 for the first time is a great day imo.
Trust me, NO ONE is more annoyed at the little spots on the screen than me. It's strange that they only appeared when filming in M1 (24fps) on my Sony a7III and not M2 (120fps) but the problem seems to have gone now. Anyways, sorry about that!

千葉県に住んでいる友達を訪れた。田舎だけど色々なことが出来る。友達の街はスタジオジブリ見たいから大好きだ！超綺麗だった。次は一緒に成田山新所持に行って、素敵なお寺、公園など見られた。千葉県で東京ディズニーがあるので行かなきゃならなかったんだ。最後に大きなイオンモールに買い物をしに行った。千葉県はとても楽しかったよ。動画で楽しんでくれるといいな！

Mt. NOKO~IRI-Famous for Scenic Beauty
The Precinct of the temple, with many picturesque spots, with
18 wonders, 36 sights, is designated by the CHIBA prefectures as a
place of extraordinary beauty. The maginificent spectacle of the
Three Peaks are named after the famous followers of Buddha, RURI,
NICHIREN and GATSURIN. The panoramic splendor from the mountain
top of the whole KANTO area, Tokyo Bay below, and Mt. FUJI beyond,
is breathlessly exquisite. It takes two whole days to see and admire
all this magnificence. Besides being a place of scenic beauty, Mt.
NOKOGIRI is also a valuable treasure-trove for academic researchers.
Geologists and naturalists speak of this mountain as a great museum
made by nature.

Nokogiri-yama (鋸山) | Adventures in Japan
Mount Nokogiriyama (鋸山) is a 330-meter tall mountain along the western coast of the Boso Peninsula. Spread out along the slopes of the mountain is Nihonji Temple (日本寺), a Soto Zen Buddhist temple, which was commissioned about 1300 years ago, making it one of the oldest places of worship in the Kanto Region. The temple complex is extensive and consists of multiple areas. A network of walking paths connects the areas, and it takes over an hour to explore them all.

Chiba - home to the busy Narita International Airport (yep, it's not in Tokyo!) and not exactly a popular tourist destination, but Torii and I decided to spend a weekend getaway there to see what we could find.

Summer Roadtrip to a beach in Chiba Japan
It's been a long while since I've made a video and even been longer since we left the house, but after a roadtrip to Chiba I am back on track. It was quite the eventful day with BBQ, onsen, and a fresh sushi dinner.
