The Chiltern-Mt Pilot National Park is a national park that is located in the Hume region of Victoria, Australia. The 21,650-hectare national park is situated approximately 275 kilometres northeast of Melbourne, and extends west from Beechworth across the Hume Freeway and the Albury-Melbourne railway line to the west of Chiltern.The park was established under the National Parks Act, 2002 to protect a diverse range of threatened species and ecosystems. The distinctive features of the park include the Woolshed Falls, picturesque Mt Pilot summit, culturally significant Aboriginal rock art at Yeddonba and historical relics of the goldmining era scattered throughout. The park is used for a number of recreational activities including bushwalking, hiking, trail riding, rock climbing, picnicking, camping, bird watching and prospecting.

Sunset Photography at Mount Pilot National Park

In this video I head out Mt Pilot Lookout which is located in the Chiltern Mt Pilot National Park in North East Victoria with a plan to take some sunset photos. I had some issues with cast shadow early on but managed to work around it. I used a Canon 5D Mkii, a Canon 24-105mm F4 L lens and a Vanguard tripod.

I currently use a GoPro 3 Black to record my shenanigans but I am looking to upgrade. Your suggestions for a replacement are welcome.

Albino wallaby and other animals of the Chiltern Mt Pilot National Park

Here is an albino Wallaby and other animals filmed in the Chiltern/Mt Pilot National Park earlier this week.
I am not sure if it is a true albino, or suffering from some other type of skin pigmentation issue, making it look like an albino.
Either way, I am calling it an albino for the purpose of this video.
The Chiltern Mt Pilot National Park is a wonderful place for famile and a great place for nature lovers and wildlife photographers alike.

We attempt to breach the summit of Wollumbin on a cloudy day hoping the clouds would clear (check out the circular rainbow!).....on the next day, second attempt, we climb to over 4,000 feet and achieve our goal above the majestic mountain. Chilterns, Skeleton Hill, Victoria. is under threat from mining operations due mainly to VCAT ignoring this important evidence. VCAT viewed this video at a 2011 hearing at Chiltern and in their words Under Sufferance and stated they were working from the cultural heritage management plan submitted by the mining company themselves (Holcim Quarries). They were not interested in our evidence or this video which contains compelling evidence from local Aboriginal Elders referring to stone artefacts and Aboriginal history from Sketeton Hill. This ancient ceremonial site will be blown to smithereens for a huge open cut quarry. It is situated on the Hume freeway at the gateway to the Chiltern - Mt. Pilot National Park. This imminent destruction is very disturbing and highlights how business is done in this country.
