Arakurayama Sengen Park is known as one of the best spots to view Mt. Fuji. Spring in particular is when you can capture all what Japan is known for in one shot: pink cherry blossoms, a red five-storey pagoda, and the sacred mountain in the background. A picture of this landscape decorated the cover of a former edition of Japan’s Michelin Green Guide and since then, large crowds of foreign visitors have made their way to Arakurayama Sengen Park.

2018 日本近代化の原点・長崎を訪ねて(4K) Visiting Nagasaki, Origin Of Japan's Modernization(UHD)
3月11-14日に長崎の友人を訪ねた時に撮影した長崎観光映像です。長崎を訪問予定の人の参考になれば幸いです。
Nagasaki is a port which located very west of Japan, Kyusyu area. Back in 17th century, Japan started foreign trade with Portuguese using ports in Nagasaki. Japan's Edo Government(Bakufu) constructed artificial small island called Dejima, in Nagasaki for Portuguese to reside as a measure to separate foreign people from native people. At that time Bakufu adopted the policy of seclusion and inhibited Christianity, but wanted to continue trade with Portugese to get silks from China. That is the reason why they made Dejima in Nagasaki. After Bakufu decided to stop trading with Portugues and began trade with Holland, the Dejima was used for Dutch merchant to live. Every year Two Dutch ships came to the Dejima from Patavia(Jakarta).
The Dejima was controlled by Nagasaki Bugyou(Magistrate) who was sent directly from Edo Bakufu.
At Edo era, the Dejima was the only window through which Japan can get foreign informations, goods, technologies (medicine, astronomy etc.) Many famous people(Samurai like Ryoma Sakamoto) visited Nagasaki to learn Dutch studies. Those people who learned Dutch studies began to have logical thinking and philosophy of freedom and equality which influenced the Meiji Restoration and Japan's modernisation.
Nagasaki is also famous as a place where Atomic Bone was dropped at the end of the World War II following Hiroshima.

Fujisan, Sacred Place and Source of Artistic Inspiration (Japan)
The beauty of the solitary, often snow-capped, stratovolcano, known around the world as Mount Fuji, rising above villages and tree-fringed sea and lakes has long inspired artists and poets and been the object of pilgrimages. Its representation in Japanese art goes back to the 11th century but 19th century wood block prints have made Fujisan become an internationally recognized icon of Japan and have had a deep impact on the development of Western art. The inscribed property consists of 25 sites which reflect the essence of Fujisan's sacred landscape. In the 12th century, Fujisan became the centre of training for ascetic Buddhism, which included Shinto elements. On the upper 1,500-metre tier of the 3,776m mountain, pilgrim routes and crater shrines have been inscribed alongside sites around the base of the mountain including Sengen-jinja shrines, Oshi lodging houses, and natural volcanic features such as lava tree moulds, lakes, springs and waterfalls, which are revered as sacred.

Oshino Village is one of the small village located next to Mt. Fuji.
The river is melted snow water that comes from Mt Fuji. On a clear day, the water surface reflects Mt Fuji and appears to be veiled in an almost mystic air.
These rivers provide fine-quality water, but they harmonize wonderfully with the surrounding rustic scenery.
The view of Oshino Hakkai and the view of Mt.Fuji from neighborhood are magnificent, which is popular with the people who like photographing.
Saiko Iyashi-no-sato Nemba has charming thatched-roof houses and a splendid view.
Mt. Fuji can be made into a background on the fine day, and it can look at the original scenery scene of beautiful Japan.

2016富士の絶景を求めて（4K撮影）Beautiful Scenery of Mt. Fuji, 4K UHD
富士の絶景を求めて静岡県清水港方面へ出かけました。美しく冠雪した富士の雄姿を撮影する事が出来ました。お昼近くになると、水蒸気のせいでしょうか空が白くなって来て、富士がかすんでしまったのが残念でした。ドライブのシーンは、iPhone 6S Plusで、その他のシーンは、SONY α7SIIで4K撮影しています。

2019 新道峠の富士と河口湖の新緑(4K) Mt. Fuji Viewed from Shindo-Pass & Fresh Green At Lake Kawaguchi (UHD)
富士五湖地方は5月7日の夕刻は雨で翌8日の明け方は気温もかなり下がりました。8日の朝から晴れ上がりましたが、案の定富士山には新雪が積もって美しく雪化粧をしていました。今年は、冬に雪が少なく富士山の積雪のほとんどが春先に降った雪です。そのせいでしょうか、河口湖の水も少なく水辺がかなり後退しています。５月の淡雪、直ぐに溶けてしまいそうなので、雪化粧の美しい内にと新道峠に出かけ富士と河口湖を、その帰りに河口湖の北岸の美しい新緑を撮影しました。
2019 岩本山公園の桜と富士(4K) Mt. Fuji & Cherry Blossoms At Iwamotoyama Park(UHD)
4月2日に富士市の潤井川龍厳淵の富士山と桜を撮影に行った折に、近くにある岩本山公園に立ち寄り、桜と富士山を撮影しました。午前中は綺麗に晴れ上がって、富士山もクリアに見えていましたが、昼を過ぎた途端に一気に雲が出てきて、富士山が隠れてしまいました。雲のせいで日差しも時々出なくなり、撮影コンディションとしては良くありませんでした。それでも粘って、雲が幾分上がった時に、桜と富士山を撮影する事が出来ました。この公園の桜は本当に見事で、富士山とのコンビネーションが美しいのが有名で、多くのカメラマンが撮影に来ていました。
2018 忍野八海の富士と桜(4K) Mt. Fuji & Cherry Blossoms At Oshino-Hakkai(UHD)
前回アップロードした同名のビデオの4K/UHD版です。前回のビデオは手違いによりHD版になっていました。This Video is the real 4K/UHD version of the video of the same title which was uploaded previously. Last one was Full HD version.
今年の春は暖かくて桜の開花が前倒しになっていますが、忍野八海の桜も4月13日ほぼ満開の時を迎えました。この日は朝から快晴で雲一つなく、富士山もくっきりと見えました。週末は天気が荒れる予報なので、今年の最初で最後の絶好のチャンスとばかり、忍野八海に出かけ美しい富士と桜の共演を撮影しました。
撮影には、SONYのA7SIIとRX100M5を使っていますが、昨年までと違い、Picture ProfileをPP7に設定してSlog2ガンマカーブによる撮影を行い、編集時にColor Gradingをしています。映像のダイナミックレンジが広がった結果、黒つぶれや白飛びの無い柔らかな印象の映像にする事が出来ました。くっきり感はやや失われますが、人間の目で見た景色に近い、柔らかな階調の映像に出来たと思います。特に桜の花の柔らかな美しさが良いと思います。
Oshino-Hakkai is located at the foot of Mt. Fuji close to Lake Yamanaka in Yamanashi prefecture. Hakkai means eight seas, but it is inconceivable that there are seas in the mountain area. Actually sea means small pond made by spring water. In Oshino village there are eight ponds made by spring water which came out after 20 years of filtering of melted snow in the locks made by lava underground Mt. Fuji. In spring, cherry trees planted along the river called Shin-nashogawa where spring water flows from the ponds, come out and together with Mt. Fuji they create beautiful scenery .
This video was shot at Oshino-Hakkai by Sony a7SII and RX100M5 on 13th April 2018.
I had been using PP1 for the picture profile for regular shot but when I watched past videos of cherry blossoms, I noticed that there are lots of black spots on cherry flowers because of shadow. That was caused by lower dynamic range of the brightness of the video. So, this time I tried PP7 Slog2 Profile. As a result, I could get more steps of brightness and colours and the cherry blossoms on the video became more soft just like we see by our eyes directly.

Yamanashi Koyo-dai - 紅葉台 - 4K Ultra HD
Yamanashi Koyo-dai - 紅葉台 - 4K Ultra HD : Koyo-dai, also known as Koyodai, is according to some people the best place to to enjoy Mt. Fuji in all its glory, and to be honest it would be very difficult to argue with this statement. Located on a small mountain north of Mt. Fuji, Koyo-dai offers a nice 360 degree panoramic viewing tower.
This tower is located on top of a very old, and mostly unused restaurant (that we thought at first was abandoned) operated by an old gentleman. Difficult to access by car, Koyo-dai is still highly recommended if you are interested in shooting some stunning pictures of Mt; Fuji and its surrounding area, any time of the year!

2019 月川温泉郷・花桃まつり(4K) Peach Blossoms Festival At Tsukikawa Hot-spring In Nagano(UHD)
4月28日長野県阿智村の月川温泉花桃の里に撮影に行きました。連休に入って最初の日曜日しかも、全国的に久しぶりの晴れという天気で、見頃になった花桃を見ようと多くの人が訪れていました。月川温泉郷の花桃の里は、約5,000本の赤、白、ピンクの３色の花桃が咲き乱れる文字通りの桃源郷です。僅かに残った桜、芽吹き出した新緑、そして３色の花桃の色が織りなすグラデーションは、圧巻でした。花桃まつりは、4月26日から5月9日(予定)で開催されています。

2018 冬の富士＠大観山＆山中湖(4K) Mt. Fuji In Winter At Daikanyama & Lake Yamanaka(UHD)
1月15日に大観山経由で山中湖、河口湖に行き、帰りも同じルートで帰宅しました。大観山での富士と芦ノ湖の絶景を期待したのですが、何故か芦ノ湖上空に雲が流れ続け、すっきりとした富士の景色は撮影できませんでした。しかし、雲が流れる富士の姿も趣が有ります。特に夕焼けの時間帯の雰囲気は最高でした。山中湖はここ数日の寒さで湖面が氷結していました。氷結した湖面上で身動きしない白鳥の姿が印象的でした。

例年昼間の河口湖の富士と桜の映像を撮っていますが、今年は趣向を変えて夕方から夜のライトアップにかけての時間帯に撮影しました。夕日を受けて輝く富士とピンク色に染まった桜、そして日が落ちてライトアップされた桜がその光に浮かび上がる背景に冠雪した富士の姿が暗闇に浮き上がる景色もまた変わった美しさです。

A&D Do Japan 2017! Episode Two: Tokyo, Fuji, Kyoto
In November 2017, my wife (Danielle) and I (Ace) took a two week trip through Japan! It was my second trip and her first trip there. It was a fun, whirlwind, fast paced trip and we saw a TON. If you are planning your first trip, I suggest watching this series to get a great taste of a lot of what there is to do in the country, including some uncommon stuff.
Since this was my first attempt at travel vlog, my camera and audio work can be kinda shitty at times. Apologies! Next trip will be documented better.
Episode two covers our last day in Tokyo, including a visit to the Tokyo Imperial Palace East Gardens, our stay in the Fuji-Kawaguchiko region and hike to see Mt. Fuji, our first Kaiseki meal, and arrival to Kyoto station. Enjoy!
