Everest base camp trek with Mountain world treks
Everest base camp trekking the soaring peaks and the fertile valleys of the Everest Himalayan Region excite the imagination and calls up visions of the exotic. Few places on the earth can match the biological diversity and natural beauty of the highest, the youngest and the most fragile mountain system in the world The Everest Trekking has also nourished some of the world's most ancient cultures and religious in the region.
Everest base camp trekking start from Kathmandu to Lukla flight. While you are on the Lukla flight you will see most magnificent mountain scenery on earth. The view of Mt Everest and other mountains are awesome. And your trek starts from Lukla. Higher up the Khumbu Valley there is an awesome close up view of Mount Everest from the summit of Kalla Pattar, a hill within reach of most trekkers. The Khumbu Glacier Ice fall provides an impressive mystery for, by a trick of the light, the ice seems to spring from the head of the Khumbu valley. The Mountains of the park are geologically young and are broken up by gorges and glacial valleys. The vegetation found at the lower altitude of the parks include pine and hemlock forests, while fir, juniper, birch and rhododendron are common at the higher altitude.
The National park from the Everest base camp area is home of 28 mammal species including Red Panda, Snow Leopard, Musk Deer etc.The famed Sherpa people, whose lives are interwoven with the teachings of Buddhism, live in the region. The renowned Tengboche and other monasteries are common gathering places to celebrate religious festivals such as Dunje and Mane Rumdu.
Everest base camp trekking lies on the Sagarmatha National Park which established in 1976 and for its superlative natural characteristic, UNESCO listed as a world heritage Site in 1979. We are glad to extend our warm hospitality to make your stay in Nepal is a memorable one. If you have any queries or comments, please feel free to contact us at Mountain World Treks and expedition.

Trek to Gokyo Ri Video Details
In this episode Seth & I depart Kathmandu by air for the village of Lukla, from where we plan to trek to the summit of Gokyo Ri and see Mt Everest.
We left Kathmandu June 2, 2007 by local commuter for Lukla Airport and village.
Village Lukla, at 2846m, boasts a short and scary runway. The flight to Lukla saved us 10 days of trekking. We spent that first night in the village in order to acclimatize and to find a porter.
We set out the following day. Our Day 1 officially. We took our time that first day as we followed the Kashi river up steam to Mojo.
Day 2 started from Monzu, at 2835m. Once we entered the Everest National Park the going got much harder.
At the entrance to Sagarmatha National Park we presented our trekking and conservation permits.
Air tours are common in the area for the rich and lazy but foot traffic is also quite high.
Our objective that day was the village of Namche Bazar, at 3440m. We reached it late in the day. Namche is the last market town in the region. We spent the night there and lost our porter once we paid him for the past two days. Seems he wasn’t that interested in trekking.
Outside Namche, on day 3, we passed the 50 year anniversary monument commemorating Hilary’s summit of Everest.
Lunch was at Mong, 3975m.
At this stage we left the main trail to Everest and headed up a parallel valley to the west. This was the trail to Gokyo.
Our objective that day was the village of Phortse Tenga, at 3950m.
Day 4 found Seth sluggish and feeling the effects of altitude. We rested often and enjoyed the mountain sights, such as Kangtega (6685 m) and Thamserku (6608 m).
We ended the day at the Majermo Village camp. That night we negotiated the use of a porter for the next day.
On day 5 we set out at 8:15 am. We reached our first glacial lake at 4410 m and the use of a porter was worth the $8 expense. The next lake was Taboche Tsho at 4740 m.
We spent the day trekking higher & passing more glacier fed lakes.
In the distance we spotted a local trader using the old fashion way of moving goods (Yaks or Zoe).
Gokyo village at 15,700 ft (at last)
From the glacier above Gokyo Village, at 4790 m or 15,700 ft, we looked down on buildings and a nice warm bed. In Gokyo we paid off our porter (who immediately set off for the return to Majermo Village) and then settled down for the night.
Day 6, Early Start
Our objective on day 6 was the lookout on the top of Gokyo Ri at 5360 m or 17,600ft.
From the top we spied Gokyo & Ngozumpa glaciers and Mt Everest. The view at the top was spectacular. It has taken us six days to see the mother of all mountains. Mt Everest, 8850 m or 29,029 ft.
