A Mountain 1hr from Tokyo?! MOUNT TAKAO - Japan vlog
Amazing day trip from Tokyo - climbing Mount Takao! Beautiful scenery, super-fun chairlift, waterfall & watermelon ice cream! This was one of the highlights of the trip & I hope you enjoy the vlog!
Mount Takao is less than an hour from Tokyo by train, and it's the most climbed mountain in the world. However there weren't many foreign tourists there, and it's not in many lists of things to do near Tokyo, so I wanted to share it with you! You can take a chairlift or cable car up the mountain, and there's a choice of trails on the way up and down. I'd highly recommend it! Mt. Takao is accessible in around 1 hour from Tokyo.
It offers a view of Mt. Fuji on clear days, old temples, fresh air, and beautiful sceneries.
It is about 50 minutes by express train from Shinjuku Station of the Keio Line.

Standing 599 metres (1,965 ft) tall and located within an hour of downtown Tokyo, it is a popular hiking spot, with eight hiking courses and more than 2.5 million annual visitors. The Tama Forest Science Garden is also located at the mountain's base.
Mount Takao is closely associated with tengu, minor kami from Japanese folklore, and the daitengu Naigubu. A Buddhist temple, Takaosan Yakuōin Yūkiji, is located on the mountain.

Lets Visit Mount Takao (高尾山) 2017 WINTER
Yeah!!! Decided to hike at Takaosan so I waked darn early in the morning before meetinh my fwend at Shinjuku. Took an hour long train to Takaosanguchi Station and just continue on the adventure. There is multiple trails up the mountain and eventually all will end at the summit and you can pay to take the chair lift or cablecar up to around 1/3 of the mountain. You should try the chair lift cos I loved it a lot. The place is nice and a good change from the busy parts of Tokyo.

2019/10/31 Mt. Takao Hiking : Tatsuo Yasufuku (nicknamed: Clenty or Clen) who wore a HARD ROCK Cafe (Sentosa, Singapore) cap enjoyed hiking of Mt. Takao (Takaosan). He took a course of Inariyama Course to get to the top of Mt. Takao (599 M above the sea level) . At the top of Mt. Takao he encountered a group of young people from Singapore with two flags: Singapore National Flag and a flag with a discription Northbrooks. Clenty took videos of the joyous Singapore people full of young energies. They agreed that Clenty post their videos on YouTube.

I went to Mt.Takao which can enjoy the Buddhist temple in the neighborhood very much from Tokyo-to center. There is history in more than 1000 in Mt.Takao. It was very mysterious. There were slightly too much people because I had gone in a holiday: (
In the weekday when I have few people if I go!
You can go from Keio Line Shinjuku Station to Mt.Takao for only 380 yen by train. Moreover a special express arrives in 50 minutes. A hot spring also forms near the getting off station in October, 2015 and soba noodles of a specialty can also enjoy itself. Japanese culture of common people found to have here.
Even usual clothes are the low mountain which can be climbed quickly, so if I'd like to experience Japanese temple culture and mountain worship, please have by all means!

Mount Takao DAY TRIP!
Mount Takao is a short train ride from Tokyo and an amazing place to watch the leaves change colour and also go hiking during the autumn/winter months. We went on culture day which is a public holiday in Japan, hence the crowds.
Sadly I wasn't able to narrate this video due to having a cold when it came to editing... and no voice at all. So I came up with a different way of describing the day trip.

I think I chosen the wrong route to descend the mountain but eventually I still make it to the foot of the mountain. It a LONG SLOWASS journey. Took me around an jour and a half and the route was rocky and treacherous!! One of my most eventful morning trip I had for this Japan Trip.

Mt. Takao is located about 50 minutes away from Shinjuku by train, close enough for a day trip of leisurely hiking on the mountain. The Japanese have regarded it as a holy mountain since the Edo period.
The area is famous for its tororo soba, which is made with buckwheat noodles and grated yam.

Achasan Mountain(아차산), South Korea | Relaxation place to relieve stress

I went to Mt. Achasan in Seoul. The climbing trail was moderately well organized so I could walk easily. It is close to the Han River, so I liked it because the cool wind kept blowing. There is a Achasan Station near the mountain and it is easy to go by public transportation. I recommend you to go to Achasan by subway on weekends.

Achasan Mountain (alt. 287m) stretches from Seoul to Guri City and is an extremely popular hiking spot for residents of Seoul and Guri City and the surrounding area. Towards the top of the mountain (about 40 minutes into the climb) a panoramic view of the Han River and Seoul unfolds at the mountain base.
During the Joseon Dynasty, what are now Bonghwa and Yongmabong Peak and the Manguri Cemetery were considered part of Achasan Mountain. Twenty bastions were discovered along Achasan Mountain that were originally estimated to date back to the Three Kingdoms Era. Further research indicated that some of the remains were actually part of a military fortress built during the Goguryeo Era. In light of these findings, it was officially designated a Historic Site No. 455 (2004).
