Mountain #1 : Mt. TALAMITAM (Nasugbu, Batangas)
It's my first ever hike!
The same terrain of Mt. Batulao gives rise to its ‘younger sister’, Mt. Talamitam, on another side of Nasugbu, Batangas. Although it lacks the cool breezes and grand landscapes of Batulao, it is a surprisingly wondrous mountain on its own right, with verdant cogon grass during the rainy season, and a challenging, 60-degree trail before the peak.

Day Hike to Mt. Talamitam (Nasugbu, Batangas) VLOG 3
Hello, welcome to my third vlog! :)
At last, I mustered up the courage to (slightly) talk in front of a camera. Taking baby steps at a time. Haha! This was also the first time I edited a video using Adobe Premiere Pro. Wohooo! Couldn't be more proud of myself! :D After a months of anticipatory anxiety on how it would turned out. Shout out to my sister who patiently helped me out.
Anyway, I went on a day hike with my former colleagues last October 8 (my birthdayyy!) to Mt. Talamitam in Nasugbu, Batangas. We started ascending to the summit at 6am and we were able to descend back to the jump off area past 12nn. From then, we headed to Tagaytay for a quick bulalo stop over.
Many thanks to those who will and who have watched this vlog!

VLOG #7: MT. TALAMITAM & MT. APAYANG TRAVERSE HIKE
Last month, my colleague invited me to went for a hike in Nasugbu, Batangas.
I never been there and I love adventure so I decided to give it a try.
They said that the difficulty level is easy and beginners are encouraged to join.
The mountains are called Mt. Talamitam & Mt. Apayang - the Twin Mountains.
This is actually my first time to do traverse hiking wherein you will visit two or more mountains and the catch of it is that you will hike it for one day.(sounds exciting right?)
Anyways, we depart Manila at 6:00 am and reach Nasugbu, Batangas at 10:00 am which makes the traveling time using a private car is 3-4 hours depends on the stopover and traffic.
Since we stop over at Tagaytay, we take a bit longer than expected.
After we reached the location in Nasugbu, we are brief by locals and let us register before hiking.
We start off by walking through the village and then cross the river using a bamboo bridge.
Then we start off the 3-4 hours trek.
The terrain is up and down and there's a lot of steep trails that make us catch our breath.
Every peak we reached, there is definitely a great view that you can see.
It is worth the energy and sweat!
The weather is a bit windy and foggy with a little bit of rainfall.
We reached the summit after 3 hours and nothing feels great to be on the top.
Though the weather is not in favor with us because of thick fogs that we can't able to see below.
This is the first half of our day as we venture the Mt. Talamitam.
For P100 pesos or $2, we're able to experience to hike this beautiful mountain.
Can you believe that we hike two mountains in one day?
Well, that's just pretty amazing!
When we reached the summit of Mt. Talamitam, we didn't get much of the view because is it quite foggy upon reaching it.
We take chances on taking photos when the fog is away from our place.
We take a rest for a while, enjoyed the view and savor the cold breezy weather.
Then, we proceed hiking its twin mountain, the Mt. Apayang.
Even though we are already tired; nothing keeps us from moving forward.
We hike the mountain for 20 minutes and as we reached the summit, the happiness and accomplishment are undying.
We are very happy that we are able to conquer two mountains in a day.
The view is breathtaking and you can view the previous mountain we visited on the other side, the Mt. Talamitam.
Then, we descend from the mountain afterward because we are a bit hungry as we not yet taken our lunch.
This is the easiest part and fulfilling experience when we are about to depart the mountain.
Upon the experience, I would like to share with you some tips when hiking these mountains:
* Take a heavy breakfast before hiking the mountains - this is one of the common tips that is very helpful that keeps your energy alive during the hike.
* Bring 2L of water - it is not an easy trail so better bring water to keep you hydrated.
* Bring trail mix, nuts or any mini size food - this will also keep you going and keeps your energy at most.
* Wear comfortable clothes - don't wear anything that you will not feel comfortable and it is advisable that you bring jacket, hat & use hiking shoes.
* Bring lightweight back and pack light - it is not easy to hike with heavy loads that can also make your hiking harder.
* Bring a hiking stick - this is a tip from a local tour guide and he said that it is very convenient especially when it's too steep.
* Have fun - I think this is the most important that everyone should enjoy and happy with what they are doing.
***
That's pretty sums up our great adventure in these two mountains.
How do you find this adventure?
Let me know what you think.

Mt. Talamitam Nasugbu, Batangas
Mt. Talamitam is a mountain in Nasugbu, Batangas. It is named after the talamitam trees which used to grow on the land. Standing at around 630 meters above sea-level, it is one of the easier mountains to climb around Metro Manila. The hike to the summit normally takes 1.5 to 2 hours, just right for beginners.
