It's the fall foliage season in Minakami-machi. From the top of Mt. Tanigawadake, we've captured a patch of the crimson foliage that can be seen beyond the sea of clouds. The mountain lodges are closed on November the third. Tanigawadake soon turns into a snowcapped mountain. The Tone River basin is ablaze with fall colours of the leaves. Joyful days of hot springs are missed by everyone when Minakami-machi prepares for the upcoming winter.

It's August, and Minakami-machi is in the height of summer. The mountain stream is full of spirited children who came to play in the water. When they catch trouts, they grill them with salt and eat them on the spot. However, when you reach the Tenjintaira station on the ropeway, there is already a nip of fall in the air. The trail up the mountain bustles with mountain climbers consisting of men and women of all ages.

水上町 (Minakami) 位於日本群馬縣的北部，從東京乘坐新幹線前往，車程大約一個小時。海拔 1,977.6 米的谷川岳 (Mount Tanigawa) 是日本百名山之一。
雪山是我從未踏足過的領域，這次由居住當地的福山正和先生帶領登上谷川岳，走進茫茫飄雪當中，我終於明白到雪山的魅力，亦體會得到為甚麼福山會如此喜歡這裏。

Mount Tanigawa is a 1,977m mountain on the border of Gunma Prefecture and Niigata Prefecture in Japan. It is one of the 100 famous mountains in Japan. As of December 2014, since its initial exploration and route-finding in the early 1930s, a total of 805 people have died on Tanigawa-dake.

Tenjindaira ski resort is small gem of a ski field. If your hunting for powder this ski resort is more than often your best bet.
It only has 3 lifts plus 1 rope way, but wow, what a great place.
On a week day and we practically had the whole place to ourselves.
