日本三大急登に耐えてあり着いた合戦小屋のスイカが甘くて美味しかった。
二日目は大天井岳方面へ1時間程の絶景稜線歩きを楽しみ下山の途へ。
下山後の温泉と気狂い蕎麦を満喫。

2010年9月11日、天気が良かったので、蝶ヶ岳へ行ってきました。残暑厳しい日でしたが、山頂付近は好天で涼しい心地よい風が吹いて快適でした。

On 19 May 2016 , we reached the Summit of Mt. Fujimidake
(富士見岳 h=2817m) and Mt Kengamine (剣ケ峰 h=3026m)
of Norikura Mountain Range.
Mount Norikura (乗鞍岳 Norikura-dake) is a potentially active volcano located on the borders of Gifu and Nagano prefectures in Japan. It is part of the Hida Mountains .The Norikura Plateau borders the mountain on its northern side in Nagano Prefecture. The mountain, whose name means riding saddle, received its name because its shape looks like a horse saddle.
After Mount Fuji and Mount Ontake, Mount Norikura is the third tallest volcano in Japan. It is a stratovolcano and hardened lava flows can still be seen near the peak. There are eight plains and 12 crater lakes on the mountain that were formed by volcanic activity..

It's a pity I couldn't record the crucial moments when we were hiking across the snow, chunky rocks, streams, passing the godzilla backfin, up at the top feeling awed by the misty alpine view, but! I have them captured in my heart. Thank you Ogura sensei, Hori&Taira guides and my dear hikemates~ Thankful for the rain- for not raining when we were on our way up! Thankful for the mist-for the beautiful mystic scenery (and also making the hiking less scary than it was ????)
Kamikochi and Yakedake
Kamikochi is a resort in the Northern part of the Japan Alps in the Nagano prefecture. One of the easiest ways to reach this area is by bus or car from Matsumoto.
Yakedake is an active volcano within Kamikochi and is what we hiked during this trip.
There are many benefits of being in nature, whether it is on a hike or a simple walk.
1) Encourages physical activity
2) Reduces stress and anxiety levels
3) Feel good endorphins for overall better mood
4) Can even help short and long term memory

Climbing Mt. Jonen-dake, Japan's 45th Highest Mountain
My hike to the top of Mt. Jonen-dake, elev. 2857m, in the Northern Japan Alps on Aug. 22, 2010. Includes the beautiful Ichinosawa Valley & mountain stream, the Jonen-goya mountain hut, and the most stunning view of Mt. Oku-hotaka-dake & Mt. Yari-ga-take I've ever seen. My interactions with the very lively Japanese hikers start around the 2:48 min. mark.
