Mu Ko Lanta National Park - Koh Lanta/Thailand
Moving on to the southern tip of the island with its lighthouse landmark of Koh Lanta and a lot of naughty wild monkeys.
Koh Lanta National Park's Cliffs, Beaches, And Lighthouse - Thailand Travel Vlog 2019
Time to put the scooter to use! We take a 50 minute ride through Koh Lanta, Thailand to Koh Lanta's National Park on the southern tip of the Island! Such a beautiful place to spend the day.
The drive was a nice a simple drive at least. Koh Lanta has one main road running through it pretty much so you don't have to worry about missing turns or dealing with busy intersections which was a plus. You drive through some smaller rural areas throughout the journey and get to see the whole Island and that a lone was worth the travelling. Scooters are so fuel efficient that might as well put a few kilometers down and see the landscape right?
After the beautiful drive, it was time to prepare the descent into the park. To get to the park you slowly climb in elevation, and then take a steep hill down to sea level where the main area and parking for the park is. The park consists of sandy beaches, a little walk up to the light house on the tip of the island, walking through the palm trees connecting the beaches, and a steeper 2 hour + hike that circles the whole park. We saw you can even book an overnight camping option for the park apparently where you rent a tent and all the supplies. That would be quite the adventure as well I'm sure.
The scenery is just so lovely here. When we were taking in the view from the hill top by the lighthouse we spotted a bunch if small and medium sized fish swimming around the rocks. Farther out I noticed a large fish also swimming through the crystal clear water. From the distance we were at I swear it could have been 4 feet long it was definitely something else to see. Unfortunately we managed to forget to grab our snorkels so we didn't get to go swimming around all the fish but still went for a swim on the less rocky, beautiful beach side of the light house. We were originally planning on doing the 2 hour hike around the park but pretty much right when we got high enough to a viewpoint of the park Alysha's sandal broke and we called that a good point to turn back. The path went from the viewpoint up in to a denser jungle. It is steep, hot and humid so be prepared if you choose to venture deep in, and pack some water!
Overall this was a great travel day compared to the usual relaxation in the main resort areas of the Island the provided a bit more adventure. It is such a fun experience driving the scooter with the wind blowing and being in control of pulling over whenever you'd like as opposed to taking a typical tour group like we tend to otherwise. Koh Lanta really was a great spot for us to get used to driving in traffic. The road had huge shoulders that people with slower scooters and families would drive on even so you can always hug the side and cars have more than enough space to safely go about their way.
After a big ol day of adventure we showered and cooled off being heading back for a bite to eat at our delicious local restaurant by the Yamaha dealer in between Saladan Pier and the 7-11 we used. We enjoyed our last bit of time in Lanta otherwise before preparing to have an early morning wake up coming up to catch a ferry from Saladan Pier and off to Phuket in next video!
So stay tuned for our goodbye leaving Koh Lanta and onward to the beginning of Phuket! (We get a scooter there as well, yay)
Thanks for tuning in as always, we appreciate you coming a long on our journeys with us! Mu Ko National Park and Nature Walk Koh Lanta, Thailand December 2019
We decided to do a Nature Walk in the National Park after lunch. It said it took a couple of hours on the sign, but we never believe signs. And to be clear, it didn't take us a couple of hours. But it was a SERIOUS nature walk. Let's call it a hike. Super steep, hip high (on Noble ????) stairs that were definitely not uniform. Keep your eyes on those ???? But like all of the other hikes we've done, after coming out on the other side, we're all happy, and so glad we did it. We're instilling in our children that a challenge is something to embrace. To overcome. Work hard. Persevere. And bring a lot of water. ????
Koh Lanta Thailand - Close Encounter With Koh Lanta Snake!
Exploring Koh Lanta Thailand island by scooter. Visiting Long Beach and Phra Ae beach, viewpoints with scenic views, Mu Ko Lanta National Park with Koh Lanta Lighthouse. Enjoy the view as first hand as I film the roads and scenery of Koh Lanta Thailand while I ride a scooter.
Enjoy beautiful Koh Lanta scenery from my motorbike ride around the island. The roads are not in the best condition so it is best to be careful. There are also monkeys running around so it is best to keep an eye out for them as well.

Best Koh Lanta Beaches - Thailand Travel Guide
Do you want to know which are the best beaches in Koh Lanta? Explore the beautiful Koh Lanta beaches with me in my Koh Lanta Beach Guide designed to help you decide where to stay on Koh Lanta!
This Thailand Travel video is part of a series of videos from Koh Lanta, so if you enjoyed this video don't forget to check out more of my Koh Lanta videos here:
This Koh Lanta Beach Guide starts at the north of Koh Lanta island with Klong Dao beach, the closest beach to Saladan Pier which will be your port of entry to Koh Lanta. Next up is Phra Ae beach, better known by tourists and travelers as Long Beach, and probably the best known beach on Koh Lanta. From here join me on a Koha Lanta beach tour heading all the way down to Bamboo Beach (also known as Ao Mai Phai) just north of the Mu Koh Lanta National Park.
Along the way there are plenty of other beaches including and Klong Nin which is a popular sunset spot for visitors to Koh Lanta and my personal favourite beach on Koh Lanta which is at Ao Nui Bay.
Other Koh Lanta beaches include Kantiang Bay which has a beautiful wide beach and caters to luxury travellers, while Klong Jark Beach has just a handful of accommodation options and Klong Khong is popular with backpackers.
