Visiting the TAJ MAHAL a WORLD WONDER + Day Trip to Fatehpur Sikri | Agra, India
On my fourth day in India I teamed up with Tours by Locals to explore the Taj Mahal and Fatehpur Sikri. Tours by Locals in Agra:

The best way to get to Agra from Delhi is to take the high speed train which is called the Gatiman Express. It take's only 90 minutes to get to Agra. The train runs everyday (except Friday) at 8:10 am.
When I arrived Shanoo my Tours by Locals guide picked me up and took me straight to the Taj Mahal. This is the most beautiful building in the world! It is my 4th wonder and it was truly amazing!
After that we went to Handicraft Marble Industries to see how the same families that made the Taj Mahal still put inlays in to marble. This is definitely a must visit after seeing the Taj Mahal.
Lastly we headed to Fatehpur Sikri a UNESCO World Heritage Site that is located around a 45 minute drive South West of Agra. Fatehpur Sikri was founded as the capital of Mughal Empire in 1571 by Emperor Akbar, serving this role from 1571 to 1585. It was abandoned in 1610. If you have two days in Agra then you have to go visit Fatehpur Sikri!
I hope you loved this video! Have you ever been to the Taj Mahal or any other of the seven wonders of the world or Fatehpur Sikri?

EVERYTHING TO SEE in Agra BEYOND the Taj Mahal | Agra, India
During my second day in Agra we headed out to see everything beyond the Taj Mahal. From the Baby Taj to Agra Fort, there is so much more to see in Agra!
TRAVEL HUSTLE REPEAT GEAR ►
MY FILM MAKING KIT ►
Our first stop of the day was the Baby Taj also known as the Tomb of I'timād-ud-Daulah. The tomb of I'timād-ud-Daulah is often regarded as a draft of the Tāj Mahal. It is a beautiful building and place most people skip when visiting Agra.
Next we headed to the Mehtab Bagh which is also known as the royal gardens. From here you get some of the best views of the Taj Mahal. Sunrise and sunset are the best times to visit the gardens.
The last site on our tour was Agra Fort, it was the main residence of the emperors of the Mughal Dynasty till 1638, when the capital was shifted from Agra to Delhi. The Agra fort is a UNESCO World Heritage site. Agra Fort is a wall city with many palaces within it.
To end our tour we headed to The Master Chef restaurant to try some Petha. This sweet is famous in Agra. It's a translucent soft candy. usually rectangular or cylindrical, it is made from the ash gourd vegetable. It's extremely hard and sweet!
This is really everything you must see beyond the Taj Mahal. Most people only visit Agra for a day but I recommend you spend two nights to be able to see all the main sites and the Taj Mahal.

Places To Visit In Agra | Where To Go Other Than Taj Mahal | DesiGirl Traveller
In this video, I have explored several monuments of Agra. We all know that Taj Mahal (one of the world’s wonders) is in Agra and many people come to the city to witness this beauty. However, the beauty of Agra city is not just limited to Taj Mahal. There’s a lot to explore in this city. I have visited a few of the beautiful monuments and forts in Agra including Taj Mahal, Agra Fort, Fatehpuri Masjid, Mehtab Bagh etc. Everyone knows about Taj Mahal. It doesn’t need an introduction. We know that this monument is one amongst the World’s Wonders, one amongst the UNESCO World Heritage Sites, a legend of eternal love of an Emperor for his favourite Queen. Well, Taj Mahal has distinctions much beyond just these. Therefore, it surely deserves your visit once and more.
.
Agra Fort is another monument which you must visit when you are in Agra. This fort was built in the year 1573 by the king Akbar - one of the greatest Mughal Emperors. It is said that in-total 4000 workers worked for 8 years to complete the construction of this fort. This fort was built with an idea to make it the main residence of the Mughals. The architecture of Agra Fort which is also known as Red Fort of Agra is simply brilliant. This fort houses many impressive structures inside it including Khas Mahal, Jahangir Mahal, Diwan-e-Aaam, Diwan-e-Khaas, Moti Masjid, Machchhi Bhawan and a lot more. This fort is just 2.5 kilometers away from the Taj Mahal and is also a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
.
Other than Taj Mahal and Agra Fort, Fatehpuri Masjid and Mehtab Bagh are the few places where tourist can visit in Agra. So, guys, that was all from my trip to Agra. I have done a few other videos on Agra, putting the links below. I hope you enjoy this video. Keep spreading love and share your travel stories with me. Loads of Love.

Agra is located very close to the capital city of the country - New Delhi and hence is highly accessible. Delhi and Agra together with the Pink City of India- Jaipur in Rajasthan forms the golden triangle package which is undoubtedly one of the best tourist package tours offered in India.
The most prominent tourist attraction of Agra is the Taj Mahal, which is built entirely of white marble. This white mausoleum was built by the emperor in the memory of his dear wife Mumtaz Mahal. The construction of this building took over twenty years and it is one of the finest examples of Mughal architecture that combines elements from elements from Islamic, Indian and Persian architectural styles. The dome like structure along with the four tall minarets, the intricate carvings, sculptures and wall paintings inlaid with stone work, makes the Taj Mahal tour a dream. Taj Mahal has thus earned its name in New Seven Wonders of the World.
Agra is also popular for various other tourist destinations, all of which depict the rich culture and heritage of the Mughal Empire. Some of the popular tourist destinations that you could cover in the Agra Packages are Sikandra, Fatehpur Sikri which once used to be Akbar's capital, The Buland Darwaja, Palace of Jodha Bai, and Panch Mahal, Itmad-Ud-Daulah's Tomb, Agra Fort, Jehangir Mahal and Chisti's Tomb.
The various Agra trips also entail trips to the various beautiful gardens and parks which is indeed a great delight and they exemplify the Mughal culture. Some of the must see beautiful gardens of Agra includes the Alasi Bagh, Anguri Bagh, Ram Bagh,Dayal Bagh, and the Mehtab Bagh to name a few. These gardens truly give you the best time of your life.
The popularity of the Agra package tours can also be accorded to the fact that reaching Agra is extremely convenient as its well connected with the rest of the country by air, rail and road. The Delhi Agra highway is one of the finest and hence Agra travel from Delhi is a piece of cake. The luxury train - The Palace on Wheels, covers the Golden Triangle Destination of Delhi, Agra and Jaipur which is by far the best tour packages that you could imagine.

BAGH-I-GUL AFSHAN (THE FLQWER-SCATTERING. GARDEN
BAGH-I-NUR AFSHAN: (THE LIGHT-SCATTERING GARDEN
OR RAM-BAGH (1526-30; 1615-19 A.D.) ?
NOW KNOWN AS RAM-BAGH, THIS GARDEN WAS ORIGINALLY FOUNDED BY BABUR THE FOUNDER OF THE
MUGHAL DYNASTY IN INDIA. HE LAID IT OUT, IN 1526, ON THE PERSIAN TERRACED AND CHAR-BAGH rFOUR-
QUARTERED) PLAN. HE HAD SEEN SUCH GARDENS AT SAMARQAND. AT KABUL, HE FOUNDED Si VERA
SIMILAR GARDENS AS BAGH-I-VAFA, BAGH-I-KALAN, BAGH-I-BANAFSHA, BAGH-I-PADSHAHI AND BAGH-!
| CHENAR, INDESCENDING TERRACES WITH A HILL-SIDE SPRING, WATER SOFTLY RIPPLING FROM ONE TERRACE
TO THE OTHER IN A SERIES OF WATERFALLS. THOUGH NO HILL-SIDE OR A NATURAL SPRING WAS AVAILABLE
HERE, THIS GARDEN WAS ALSO MADE IN THREE DESCENDING TERRACES. WATER WAS DRAWN FROM THE
+ RIVER JAMUNA BY A SERIES OF WATER-WHEELS (REHANTS) AND IT FLOWED INTO A NET-WORK OF CANALS:
CASCADES AND TANKS, DESCENDING FROM ONE TERRACE TO THE OTHER. EACH CASCADE HAS STAIRS ON
BOTH SIDES AND ENDS IN A POND, ALL BUILT OF RED STONE. LARGE PLATFORMS, PATHWAYS, TREE-AVENUES.
. FLOWER-PARTERRES AND CHHATRIS WERE PROVIDED AT REGULAR INTERVALS SO THAT THE GARDE!
PRESENTED ALMOST AN ETHEREAL ATMOSPHERE. THUS DID BABUR, THE PRINCE OF GARDENS, FULFILL HIS
IDEAL OF A GARDEN (BOSTAN). HE WAS MUCH TORTURED BY THE HEAT, HOT WINDS (LLOO) AND DUST OF AGRA
AND, AS APROTECTION AGAINST THESE, HE ALSO BUILT A'COLD-BATH'IN THE BASEMENT OF THE UPPERMOST
TERRACE, ON THE RIVER-SIDE. EVEN IN SUMMER, IT WAS SO CHILY THAT ONE 1S ALMOST, COLD, AS HE
RECORDED IN HIS MEMOIRS.
THIS GARDEN WAS RENOVATED BY HIS GREAT-GRANDSON JEHANGIR BETWEEN 1615 AND 1619. WHILE THE
LOWER TERRACES, WITH THEIR ARCHITECTURAL WATER-CHANNELS, CASCADES AND TANKS, AND PATHWAYS,
AND THE RESPECTIVE FOUR-QUARTERED GARDENS, WERE RETAINED IN THEIR ORIGINAL FORM, TWO
BEAUTIFUL SUITES WERE BUILT ON THE NORTHERN AND SOUTHERN SIDES OF THE OPEN COURT ON THE
UPPERMOST (MAIN) TERRACE, OVERLOOKING THE RIVER. EACH SUITE IS COMPOSED OF DALANS AND ROOMS
WHICH WERE DECORATED WITH FIGURATIVE PAINTINGS, TYPICAL OF JEHANGIR'S AGE. SWAN BRACKETS ARE
USED TO SUPPORT THE COURT-SIDE CHHAJJAS. A LARGE STONE MASONRY TANK, WITH FOUNTAINS AS
INLETS, IS THERE IN THE MIDDLE OF THIS COURT. IT HAS AN ISLAND-PLATFORM (MAH-TAB), WHICH IS
CONNECTED TO THE EASTERN SIDE BY A STONE BRIDGE. WATER FROM THE TANK FLOWED DOWN TO THE
SECOND TERRACE AND TO THE THIRD TERRACE THROUGH SERIES OF CANALS AND CASCADES. THE RIVER-
* BANK WITH COOL AND FRESH BREEZES, DENSE GREENERY OF TREES AND COOL SHADES; AND RUNNING
Wavsn THROUGH CANALS AND. CASCADES MADE IT AN EXTREMELY PLEASANT, LOVELY AND ROMANTIC
ESORT FOR RELAXING IN THE HOT CLIMATE OF AGRA AND JEHANGIR WAS VERY FOND OF THIS PLEASURE-
GARDEN. HE STAYED HERE WITH THE LADIES FREQUENTLY, AS HIS MEMOIRS RECORD. HE RENAMED IT 'BAGH-I-
NUR AFSHAN'. IT WAS INCLUDED IN NUR JEHAN'S JAGIR (ESTATE). HER RIVERINE SARAI (INN) WAS JUST
ATTACHED TO IT -ON THE NORTHERN SIDE. WHERE HER OFFICERS COLLECTED DUTIES ON GOODS
TRANSPORTED BY THE RIVER. IT WAS ALSO GREATLY LIKED BY THE BRITISH WHO REPAIRED AND CONVERTED
IT INTO A FULL HOLIDAY-RESORT DURING THE EAST INDIA COMPANY'S RULE (1803-1857). THE GARDEN SOON
BECAME FAMOUS AS 'RAM-BAGH', EITHER FROM V.'ARAM' (REST) OR SANSKRIT 'ARAM' (GARDEN).
SUCH EXOTIC FRUIT TREES AS SHAH-ALU, ZARD-ALU, SHAFT-ALU, ALUCHAH, KOKACHAH, ANJIR, NASHPATI,
SAIB, BADAM, BIH, TUT (SHAH-TUT), BAIDANA (ANAR), NARANJ, KHAJUR AND KOLAH WERE PLANTED IN THIS
GARDEN, ALONG WITH SUCH INDIGENOUS FRUIT AND FLOWER TREES AS AM, AONLA, AMRUD, AMALTAS, BEL,
