The Mugie Story - Mugie Conservancy Laikipia, Kenya
Mugie Conservancy is a wildlife sanctuary in Laikipia, East Africa.
It supports some of the most precious biodiversity on the planet. From the tiny rodents to some of Africas largest animals, each paying an important part in #landscapeconnectivity and the ecosystem.
For me, this was a passion project to help aid the amazing work conservancies like #Mugie is doing in East Africa. I had the most incredible few days filming whilst learning about animal & #wildlife conservation. Situated around 6hrs from Nairobi. The long drive to Laikipia was well worth it! I saw so much wildlife in the few days there, from exotic endangered birds like the grey-crowned crane, to a pride of 10 lions!
My learnings: Never underestimate what the impact can be on environmental disruptions even if it appears insignificant. Everything is connected and is there for a reason. We need to be more environmentally conscious and respect animals & the earth.

RHINO CHARGE 2019 IN NANNAPA CONSERVANCY-THE GAUNTLET SPECIAL
The Rhino Charge is an annual off-road 4×4 competition held in Kenya in which entrants are required to visit 13 points (guard posts) scattered over approximately 100 km² of rough terrain within a 10 hour period. Entrants are supplied with a 1:50,000 scale map of the venue, co-ordinates of the 13 guard posts and their start position the night before the event. Each competitor must plot the guard posts on the map and decide his/her route. The winner is the competitor who visits the most guard posts in the shortest distance (GPS measured).
The event is organized in order to raise funds to support the activities of the Rhino Ark Kenya Charitable Trust, an NGO which works towards a noble cause: the conservation and protection of Kenya’s mountain range ecosystems, the so-called “Water Towers”.
A FILM TO (AND FROM) LAIKIPIA, KENYA
We spent a week away from the craziness of Nairobi in the peace of Laikipia, and on the way we stopped by the most beautiful lake I've seen in a long time.
Huge thanks to Canon for making this happen, and of course to Bobby for his logistical awareness and all his help throughout this trip.

Ranch invasions trigger travel advisory to Laikipia
The Kenya Tourism Board met Tourism sector stakeholders and security chiefs to find ways of easing tension and unrest in Laikipia West.
The Nanyuki meeting with owners of conservancies that have been raided by herders is aimed at finding a solution as Kenya faces losing billions of shillings in tourist fees after countries like the United Kingdom recently issued a travel warning to its citizens in the Laikipia area.
President Uhuru Kenyatta in a recent tour of the region urged neighbours to live in peace whilst urging pastoralists to respect private property and avoid cattle rustling, that is not only causing loss of property but loss of life.
