मुक्तेश्वर महादेव मंदिर उत्तराखंड के नैनीताल जिले के मुक्तेश्वर के सर्वोच्च बिंदु के ऊपर स्थित है । यह मंदिर “मुक्तेश्वर धाम या मुक्तेश्वर” के नाम से भी जाना जाता है । मंदिर में प्रवेश करने के लिए पत्थर की सीढ़ियों से पहुंचा जा सकता है और यह मंदिर समुद्र तल से 2315 मीटर की ऊँचाई पर कुमाऊं पहाड़ियों में है । मुक्तेश्वर का नाम 350 साल पुराने शिव के नाम से आता है , जिसे मुक्तेश्वर धाम के रूप में जाना जाता है , जो शहर में सबसे ऊपर , सबसे ऊंचा स्थान है। मंदिर के निकट “चौली की जाली” नामक एक चट्टान है |

पुराणों में शालीनता के रूप में, यह भगवान शिव के अठारह मुख्य मंदिरों में से एक है | यहाँ एक पहाड़ी के ऊपर शिवजी का मन्दिर है जो की 2315 मीटर की ऊँचाई पर स्थित है।

यह मंदिर ‘मुक्तेश्वर महादेव मंदिर’ के नाम से प्रसिद्ध है। इस मंदिर तक पहुंचने के लिए लगभग 100 सीढ़ियां चढ़नी पड़ती हैं |

मुक्तेश्वर महादेव मंदिर के बारे में यह कहते हैं कि शिव अक्सर इस स्थान में तपस्या में लीन रहते थे।

Mukteshwar Temple l Nainital

Mukteshwar temple is situated 51 km ahead of Nainital in Uttarakhand State. It is a beautiful hill station developed by British for mainly vetiniary reaeerach purpose.

Only mode of transportation is taxi/cab/bus. It is always advisabke to take ur own cab to reach there. For stay, one can book online govt guest house available. Inspection bungalow of UK govt is awsome to stay if one can manage to book. Otherwise, there are other options to stay there in small mukhteshwar market.

There are two or three imp places to visit in mukteshwar. 1st, chauli ki jali. It is a cliff situated near mukteshwar dham temple. It gives a awsome view of the kumaun range and whole city. For photographers, it's a must to visit place.

Second one, mukteshwar temple. One can visit it and have some peaceful time there.
Third place, according to me, is a treking track situated at distance of 1.5 km from IVRI, Mukteshwar. Adventure lovers can go n enjoy treking.

In my view, if someone want to spend leisure time with utmost calmness and peace, may visit mukteshwar during summers.

MUKTESHWAR :- This beautiful place is 2286 meters (7500 feet) in altitude and 51 Kms. from Nainital, 72 km from Haldwani, and 395 km from Delhi. It is the celebrated scenic spot overlooking long ranges of Himalaya. An old temple of Lord Shiva exist on the top of a rock.

Mukteshwar Temple - Mukteshwar Mahadev Temple - Mukteshwar Dham -

Mukteshwar gets its name from an 350 year old temple to Shiva, known as Mukteshwar Dham, situated atop the highest point in the town. The Mukteshwar temple has a white marble Shivling with a copper yoni. The Shivling is surrounded by idols of Brahma, Vishnu, Parvati, Hanuman, Ganesh and Nandi. As narrated in Puranas, it is one of the eighteen main temples of Lord Shiva.

Since ancient times the Mukteshwar Mahadev Temple has been a place of worship for iron ore miners as Agaries. The followers of Maheshwar community who worship Lakulis as their god and conducted important rituals and ceremonies here. It is also believed that couples longing to be blessed for a child with mud lamps in their hand also offer prayers here.

Mukteshwar Temple is at an altitude of 2,312 m and can be approached by stone stairs.

Chauli Ki Jali - Chauthi Jaali

Nice scenery can be viewed from Chaulli ki Jaali, where rocks jut out from the hill face at a bizarre angle.
Chauli ka Jali is situated adjacent to the Mukteshwar temple in the hilltop of the calm and seclude city of Mukteshwar. as per mythology, it is believed that a Demon and a Goddess fought a battle in this place, and there are faint outlines of a sword, a shield and a trunk of an elephant which stands as the testament of the battle.

I have visited this place on 12-August-2018 and the trip was totally marvellous because on that day temperature was 10°c, We felt very well.
Best season is to visit Mukteshwar Mahadev Nainital March-October, Because November-February whole area remains covered with snow, so, there could be higher chances that you heared, road is closed.
