Mulafossur Waterfall in the Faroe Islands - Aerial Tour
Take a journey into the magical world of the Faroe Islands. Gásadalur, a town with less than 20 residents, is nestled in between the highest mountains on the island of Vágar. It is connected to the rest of the islands by a narrow tunnel that stretches almost two kilometres through the depths of the mountain. However, one of the most striking features is Mulafossur waterfall which plunges from the edge of a cliff into the ocean below. Legend says that a rock in Gásadalur is occupied by dwarfs so be sure to keep a sharp eye for the unexpected.

Faroe Islands: Gásadalur and Mulafossur Waterfall (Travel Vlog Day 2)
Gásadalur is a magical tiny town (only 18 residents) about 6 km from Sørvágur, very isolated, and one of the most important places to visit when in Faroe Islands. I am exploring the area, looking at the famous Mulafossur Waterfall which at this time of the year, in Faroese winter weather, is a wild and powerful element of nature. Then hiking back to Sørvágur. Thank you Limberg for driving me and for teaching me some Faroe Islands language! Amazing day!!!

Mulafossur Waterfall in the Faroe Islands of Denmark | A Natural Masterpiece
This used to be one of the most isolated villages in the Faroes. After all, before 2004, villagers had to do a strenuous hike over 400 to 700-meter mountains every time that they want to get in and out of Gasadalur. (The other ways to access the village were by boat or by helicopter).
Because of this limited accessibility, its population fell dramatically: in 2002, there were only 16 people that lived there! By 2012, the total population increased to only 18 people and several of the houses in Gasadalur actually stand empty today too.
That being said, building the tunnel in 2004 — which was blasted through one of the mountains, thereby allowing car travel and easily connecting this remote location to the rest of the island by road — the villagers hope that this will continually help increase their numbers
Visiting the #FaroeIslands of Denmark last year was like stepping right into a fantasy tale — every where I looked, there would be something that will draw my breath in awe, as I constantly question myself if I was still on planet Earth… Without a doubt, the landscapes there were extremely majestic, and one of the islands’ true wonders would be the village of Gasadalur which is home to one of the most surreal waterfalls that exists in this world: #Mulafossur #Denmark

We drove from Vagar to the town of Gasadalur in the Faroe Islands to see this amazing waterfall.
The Mulafossur waterfall in the Faroe Islands is one of the most beautiful in the world. Easily one of the best things to do in Faroe Islands and a must for anyone doing landscape photography in the Faroe Islands.
It is not close to the popular Kallur Lighthouse, so you'll need to plan this for a different day, but it is very close the famous Faroe Islands lake above ocean. They can both be done on the same day.

Faroe Island waterfalls - Saverio Pepe
These enchanted islands are of volcanic origin. They are rugged and rocky with giant and steep coastal cliffs up to 880 m high that flow to the sea dramaticaly, some elevated peaks and deep fjords. Basalt has been transformed into magical sculpted shapes and forms. It has a “out of the world” landscape, with magnificent bird cliffs, breathtaking waterfalls, and offers fantastic hiking and bird watching opportunities.

???????? Driving to Mulafossur in Faroe Islands ????????
Nature At Its Best! Just me, myself and few good looking sheeps I met and shared the roads with. Such a rush... such excitement driving across the idiosyncratically beautiful landscapes of the Faroe Islands. Although I have to admit, driving alone into a dark oneway tunnels were a little intimidating ????.
My 10 Days Solo Travel in the Faroe Islands. It is one of nature's heaven on earth. Sometimes I just need to go off the grid on my own to unplug and reconnect with nature. I get to reflect on life and connect to the source within.
Múlafossur is breathtaking, the waterfall just falls off the island. It's one of the biggest tourist attraction on the Faroe Island. The climate is cold, wet ☔️, and windy throughout the year.
