Mullumbimby Community Gardens
A short documentary I put together on the local community gardens
Mullumbimby Local food Festival at the Mullum Community Gardens
Wow what a wonderful event! On the 29th October The Mullumbimby Community Garden and Byron Shire Council presented the Mullumbimby local Food Festival. There were displays of local food and produce grown by local farmers and value added products.
As well as the wonderful food, there were talks by local food activist, Helena Norberg Hodge and ABC TV Gardening Australia presenter Jerry Coleby-Williams. This video filmed by Robert Hart captures the mood and energy of the festival, including interviews with Mullumbimby farmers market organiser, Judy MacDonald, Byron shire mayor, Jan Barham, and local compost toilet expert, Garry Scott.

Mullumbimby in Northern NSW has Australia's lowest rate of childhood immunisation and some of the highest rates of vaccine-preventable infectious diseases that are often unheard of in other parts of the country. Parents and health professionals are saying enough is enough, and have formed a support group to improve local immunisation rates.
