Presentation by Mr. Eric M. Kamwi Electoral Commission of Zambia Legal Secretary/ Legal Counsel to the ECZ Provincial Electoral Officers and District Electoral Officers Briefing on Preperations for the August 11th, 2016 Zambia General Election
On Tuesday 5th April 2016, the Electoral Commission of Zambia ECZ held a briefing of Provincial Electoral Officers and District Electoral Officers at Mulungushi International Conference Centre in Lusaka.
Present at the briefing was the ECZ commission Chairperson Hon. Mr. Justice Esau Chulu, Chairperson of the Local Government Service Commission Ms. Christah Ursula Kalulu, Electoral Commission of Zambia and Local Government Service Commission Commissioners, ECZ Director Ms. Priscilla Isaac, heads of ECZ Departments, Town Clerks and Council Secretaries.
The briefing included presentations on the status of preparations for the 2016 General elections in relation to the Amended Constitution, presentations on the Election Timeline, Inspection of Provisional Registers and other issues such as preparations for Voter Education, Publicity and Financial Management.
Mr. Kamwi's presentation touched on constitutional provisions which relate to holding elections in Zambia in light of Constitutional amendments.
