Mumbai Monorail NEW 2019 Full HD Tour Vlog | First Time In India Phase 2
#monorail #mumbaimonorail #mmrda #fullhd World's 3rd largest monorail network. Phase 2 was inaugurated in 2019 and it connects Jacob Circle, Parel to Wadala. Phase 1 connected Wadala to Chembur. The 20 km route is India's first monorail system. Its a 4 coach train and the entire 17 station route has been built at a cost of 3000 crore. The MMRDA plans to operate 120 services with 7 trains. I made a vlog about my first time on this unique mode of transport which has been aimed at reducing traffic and connecting distant parts of the city with the primary network of trains, buses and metro. School kids, parents, college boys and girls were primarily eager to experience it, the day it launched. 23,000 traveled on the second day of inauguration, revenue of 4 lakh. I reached the Ambedkar Nagar monorail station near Haffkine institute, at the back side of KEM hospital in Parel in the afternoon. The ticket to Chembur costed me 30 Rs. The security here is quite good, their attire seemed quite similar to the CRPF jawans/soldiers. They were quite helpful in guiding me and instructing other passenger about safety and directions. I boarded the train in and was pleasantly surprised with the interior of the train, it was clean and futuristic. The doors were automatic and the train was full air-conditioned which made it very easy and comfortable to travel in the sweltering heat of Mumbai, it will be of great help to a Mumbiker in the summer season. Now coming to the main part, the scenes and sights of Mumbai! Yes, this was the best part as I got to see Mumbai from point of view that was never seen before for over 25 years of my life! I saw such beautiful and diverse landscapes that for a second I could not believe that this was Mumbai, it really looks so new and different from above. I also saw a great deal of economic disparity, houses of the poor and sky scrapers of the rich. There were beautiful lawns, gardens and golf courses, luxury buildings as well as dumping grounds, industries, truck stations and slums which seemed poles apart from each other but existed in such a unique kind of harmony that it was amazing to see it from such a new perspective. After I crossed Wadala, I suddenly realised that there was so much open land in Mumbai! Acres of land which has not yet been used for housing projects or entertainment purposes. However I think that it is owned by the Reliance group, headed by Mukesh Ambani. If not all, most of it is owned by the petroleum Jio Billionaire who plans to make this one of the best ports in the World in future! As I reached Chembur I was satisfied with my first time experience and sure do hope to visit again soon. Overall I feel India is well on its way to beat China and Japan when it comes to trains and other allied modes of transport. Hope you enjoyed watching the video. An Evening with the Mumbai Monorail - From Outside and the Driver's View Too!
Today evening I had gone for a walk and I was in the region of the newly inaugurated Phase 2 section of the Mumbai Monorail which has been extended from Wadala to Jacob Circle.
I was walking under the Monorail tracks from Mint Colony station to Ambedkar Nagar station and managed to capture one Monorail bound for Jacob Circle and another one bound for Chembur. I then went up to the platform of Ambedkar Nagar to wait for a train to Jacob Circle. While waiting I got a video of the arrival and departure of another Chembur bound train.
Finally after a long wait, my train came. I walked to the front, just behind the pilot's cabin and from there took a recording from Mint Colony till we terminated at the last stop Jacob Circle. Just have a look at the fantastic acceleration from Lower Parel and how we reach 70 kmph in no time while racing over the traffic on the streets below.
Overall the Mumbai Monorail is a good way to travel and once the frequency increases, it will really be beneficial to many Mumbaikars.

Mumbai monorail: From game-changer to failure
It has been over six months that the first phase of monorail has been non-operational. In fact the second phase that has also witnessed several delays, missing almost 12 deadlines over the past three years and is yet to be opened for public use. The MMRDA claims that the safety certification and other approval are almost complete but has refused to provide a date for its operations to begin. Remember almost Rs 2400 crore of public money has been spent on it.

India's FIRST- Mumbai MONORAIL - First day Journey.
Enter the world of Mumbai Monorail. Country's first monorail service launched couple of weeks ago.
This monorail present two amazing contrasts of Mumbai. When in cab, it feels like you are in a foreign country. With posh stations and AC cabs. And the moment you look out of window, there is another stark reality, the slums, the dirt and grit.
Monorail is a representation of the two India's, the rising, the shining vs the poor and illiterate India.
Anyways, enjoy the video. Hit like if you feel you are on a virtual journey. :)
Mumbai Monorail
India's first monorail tested in Mumbai, the trail run of the MonoRail took place between Wadala to Chembur. The Mono rail would connect Wadala to Chembur (8.26 km) in Phase-I and Jacob Circle to Wadala (11.28 km) in Phase-II, will reduce travel time between the two localities from 90 minutes to 44 minutes. The tentative fare structure on the stretch, according to MMRDA, will range from Rs 8 to Rs 20.
The first phase of the project is expected to be completed by November 2012. The project is being implemented by MMRDA, with Larsen & Toubro (L&T) and a consortium of Malaysian infrastructure Scomi Engineering
MUMBAI MONORAIL
VERY CONVENIENT AND VERY AFFORDABLE RIDE..MUMBAI MONO RAIL.
Mumbai Monorail Full Ride (2019)
Mumbai Monorail extends from Chembur to Sant Gadge Maharaj Chowk (Jacob Circle) in south Mumbai, covering a distance of approx. 19½ km and 17 stations. The phase 2 segment from Wadala Depot to Jacob Circle was opened in March 2019. Mumbai Monorail is the fourth longest (after Chongqing, Daegu and Osaka) urban transit monorail line in the world.
Although no interchange facilities exist with the suburban train network or Metro 1, some of the stations eg Bhakti Park, Jacob Circle and Chembur station are easily reached by various BEST bus routes. The Lower Parel Monorail and suburban railway stations are only 300 m apart.
The rolling stock has been manufactured by Scomi Engineering of Malaysia. Each train consists of four coaches with a gross capacity of approx. 570 passengers.
The acceleration of the train was surprisingly good and the track had some tight corners too. A very pleasant (albeit slightly bumpy although this is a characteristic of monorails) and comfortable experience!
