Cambridge
The city of Cambridge is a university town and the administrative centre of the county of Cambridgeshire, England. It lies in East Anglia, on the River Cam, about 50 miles (80 km) north of London. According to the United Kingdom Census 2011, its population was 123,867 (including 24,488 students). This makes Cambridge the second largest city in Cambridgeshire after Peterborough, and the 54th largest in the United Kingdom. There is archaeological evidence of settlement in the area during the Bronze Age and Roman times; under Viking rule Cambridge became an important trading centre. The first town charters were granted in the 12th century, although city status was not conferred until 1951.
Cambridge is most widely known as the home of the University of Cambridge, founded in 1209 and consistently ranked one of the top five universities in the world. The university includes the renowned Cavendish Laboratory, King's College Chapel, and the Cambridge University Library. The Cambridge skyline is dominated by the last two buildings, along with the spire of the Catholic Church (Our Lady and English Martyrs) at Hills Road, the chimney of Addenbrooke's Hospital in the far south of the city and St John's College Chapel tower.

Yiddish Dance by Adam Gorb - piano duet
Found this amazingly fun piano duet piece by chance when I was browsing in a music shop in Oxford! This suite was originally written for Wind Orchestra, arranged for piano duet by the composer.
Performed by
Yukie Smith (primo)
Marie-Noelle Kendall (secondo)
Video recorded (kindly by Mako-san) on iPhone
Audio recorded on Zoom H4n
(shouldn't have positioned it inside the piano and shouldn't have added compressor/limiter either - hence some noise + no hall acoustics... hopefully will learn to do better in the future)

HMS Pinafore Timelapse
Like my facebook page here!
Poster design for Cambridge University Gilbert & Sullivan Society's production of HMS Pinafore at the Minack Theatre, Cornwall, 15-20 September 2014.
The production is set in the 1930s so we were heading for a sort of art deco-style aesthetic to this. The G&S Minack show is one of the biggest extravaganzas to come out of Cambridge student drama each year; 70 students go down to Cornwall, stay in a village hall and rehearse for three weeks before putting on the show. Essentially like a working holiday, but so much fun!
I timelapsed 123,000 frames for this one (a record!) taken at 1 per second (about 36 hours worth) edited down to about 42,000 of actual design work - Frame rate is 140 FPS - one second of footage represents just over 2 minutes of real life work - meaning what you see here represents just under 12 hours.
Music from the overture and the act 1 finale.
