Dunwich Dynamo 2019 Cycle Restrictions on regional trains

There are restrictions for cycle carriage during the Dunwich Dynamo 13/7, 14/7, 15/7.

SATURDAY 13 JULY AND MONDAY 15 JULY
The policy of up to 4 bikes per train Lowestoft - Ipswich and Lowestoft - Norwich applies, first come, first served.

SUNDAY 14 JULY
Bicycles will not be carried on Lowestoft - Ipswich (includes Darsham station) or Lowestoft - Norwich trains. This applies to all forms of bike, bike frames, folding bikes, bike parts, bikes in bags. Bikes will also not be carried on any rail replacement service if in operation.

This is to provide a punctual and reliable service for passengers.

Bicycles will be accepted on the Norwich - London route on Sunday 14 July but you must book a pace via the Greater Anglia website,

BVR 'Wroxham Broad' at the R&ER

Visiting from the Bure Valley Railway 2-6-2 'Wroxham Broad' passes 'River Mite'. 'Wroxham Broad' was visiting for the steam gala earlier in the month. The sight of the blue tank engine certainly pleased the children present!

Riveting being undertaken on the underframe of Pullman Car 54

It was raining heavily that day, and the new Operation Undercover Phase 4 (OP4) maintenance shed at Horsted Keynes was thus a huge benefit!

Whitehaven

A visit to the harbour town of Whitehaven in the Western Lake District makes a perfect day out. Once one of Britain's biggest ports, second only to London, Whitehaven today offers a 1.8 mile scenic walk along the marina, perfect for exploring the town's rich history, which starts at the Whiting Shoal sculpture on the Millennium Promenade and leads around the Old Quay overlooking the magnificent Solway Firth.

Beyond the marina you can wander through Whitehaven's attractive streets and discover the local heritage of this Georgian 'gem town', uncover maritime tales at The Beacon, browse the delightful independent shops or simply just take some time out to relax!

Around Burnmoor Tarn by mountain bike

A loop around Burnmoor tarn from the Camping and Caravanning site at Boot in Eskdale. Stony hike a bike bridleway up from Boot, High mountains reached reasonably easily. Some woodland singletrack at the end into Eskdale green and can then run back up the Eskdale mountain bike route to Boot. All Bridleway.
