Silverton and Mundi Mundi Lookout (Outback New South Wales Australia)
A day trip from Broken Hill took us to Silverton and Mundi Mundi Lookout, made famous of course by Mad Max 2.
The first two panning shots of Silverton I had to slow down hubby went way too fast, they don't look real flash but it is what it is. {Hubby playing with MY new drone......*sighs).
Mundi Mundi Lookout - Silverton
The day was very windy with strong gusts so was unsure whether to even put the Phantom up. Then the guys on the bikes turned up so a great opportunity to test the Phantom and get some quick footage for the guys as well. Think the Phantom did extremely well.
Hope you guys like the vid pity i couldnt have got a bit more for you.

Stand on the edge of the world
4kms out of Silverton in outback New South Wales are the world famous Mundi Mundi Plains.
You stand on the top of the hill and feel as though you are on the edge of the world. It's from this point that your breath is taken away, your eyes are opened and your mind tries to comprehend the hugeness of the Australian outback.
The plains are so wide, so flat and so devoid of trees and shrubs that you can see the curvature of the earth.
The hills in the distance, that seem relatively close, are actually more than 100kms away - across the border in South Australia!
It's a magnificent and breathtaking sight.
The premium time of day to visit Mundi Mundi is at sunset. The colours change every minute and grow in intensity as the sun finally dips below the horizon.
It's an unforgettable Australian outback desert experience.
Take the time to drink it all in - sit down, relax in a chair with a chilled drink and just enjoy. There are no facilities - no tables, no benches, no shade, no toilets. You probably won't get mobile phone service and, apart from other people pulling into the lookout, you're unlikely to see a passing car.
For photographers, it's a dream. Set up your camera and go nuts. In the area, you'll see emu's, kangaroos, Sturt's Desert Pea and Emu Wrens, but mostly you'll see the best sunset that you're likely to ever see.
For those who are fans of Mad Max II, Priscilla, Queen of the Desert or Razorback - the Mundi Mundi Plains is a popular movie location and was used in these movies.
Mundi Mundi Plains lookout is located 29 kilometres north of Broken Hill or four kilometres north of Silverton.
Bring with you:
a hat
sunscreen
insect repellent
byo water and drinks
some snacks
your camera
binoculars
and wear sturdy shoes if you want to walk around the area - there are lots of prickles!
If you are staying past sunset, be very careful on the road going back to Broken Hill - it can be slow going with all of the kangaroos that come to the roadside at night.
Broken Hill is a remote city in the New South Wales outback. Although in New South Wales, the city is very close to the South Australian border and uses the same time zone and phone area code and receives Adelaide TV and radio stations.
The city is 1,160km (721 miles) west of Sydney and 511km (318 miles) north east of Adelaide
