Outback Trip to MUNGO NATIONAL PARK - New South Wales
Mungo National Park is located just over 1000kms west of Sydney. It would take approximately 13,5 hours to get there by car. The last 60kms of the trip will be on dirt road. Access to the park may be closed in the wet season.
The closest town is Pooncarie, 81kms away. There will be no phone reception in the area. If you plan to go there, make sure to have enough water, good spare tyre(s) and a reliable vehicle. A 4WD is recommended due to the corrugation, although a reliable hatchback could also get you there.
There are 2 campsites in the area. But if you prefer a little bit of luxury, there's a very limited small cabins with air con near the Visitor Centre.
This site is full of historical value. Lake Mungo, which shown as a large lake on the map, is no longer have any water. In fact, it has dried since 40,000 years ago.
There's a 70kms loop track around the Lake Mungo that will bring you across to some viewing platforms to the Walls of China.
This is a perfect spot for those who'd like to experience Australian Outback, like nowhere else in the world.
For photographer like myself, this spot is a true photographer's heaven. The Walls of China, the outback scenery, the wildlifes, the open skies for astrophotography, you name it!
If you'd like to see Australia other than the beaches and the bush, I will highly recommend a visit to this corner of New South Wales.
And if you do go ... please Keep Australia Clean!!!

no.

In a trip to Mungo National Park in outback NSW on top of the moveable sand dunes, the strings of the Ukulele was magically played by the wind.
The wind is so strong at some points you have to listen carefully to hear it moving across the strings.

Episode 36 - Mt Meharry, WA (11/5/19 - 12/5/19)
...
Whilst in Karijini National Park in the Pilbara region we decided to climb Mount Meharry the highest peak in Western Australia, and spend the night at 1248m above sea level. Located in the Hamersley Range the summit is around 30km from the Great Northern Highway. The first 20km is easy going along a gravel road servicing a few of local mine sites. The base of the mountain and the beginning of the track is marked by a sign '4WD ONLY' you soon find out why. The track quickly becomes steep, loose and much more challenging. It's here where the Troopy comes into her element.

Wadbilliga Loop
We had a great winters day drive this month out in the Wadbilliga back country. With all the recent strong winds lately we had a few trees down over the track to deal with. We traveled up and down the ridge lines to complete a big loop enjoying the great views along the way. We had a lot of new faces and well set up 4wdrives this trip. It's also great to see more and more people coming along, getting out and enjoying the hard work our committee puts in to making this a success. Enjoy

{Bong Bong Pass}
This now obscure walk, was one of the busiest thoroughfares in times gone past, a popular cattle track joining the rich pastures of Bong Bong to the Illawarra. But even before then, the local Aboriginal tribes travelled this pathway.
