While in Munich, I went to the #Nymphenburg Palace. I was truly impressed by this beautiful property! If you're ever in Munich, I recommend you spend at least half a day at visiting the Nyphmenburg Palace, which happens to be the home of the Duke of #Bavaria. It's not only a beautiful place to go see, but has a very interesting history to it as well. Great place to spend a day while in #Munich. This baroque styled palace is massive and despite a lot of work being done outside on the grounds, it was still nice to see.
If you're looking for things to do or see in Munich, I would recommend visiting the Nymphenburg Palace.

Munich Residenz, the Former Royal Palace of the Bavarian Monarchs
The Munich Residenz is the former royal palace of the Bavarian monarchs of the House of Wittelsbach in the centre of the city of Munich, Germany. The Residenz is the largest city palace in Germany and is today open to visitors for its architecture, room decorations, and displays from the former royal collections.
The complex of buildings contains ten courtyards and displays 130 rooms. The three main parts are the Königsbau, the Alte Residenz and the Festsaalbau. A wing of the Festsaalbau contains the Cuvilliés Theatre since the reconstruction of the Residenz after World War II. It also houses the Hercules Hall, the primary concert venue for the Bavarian Radio Symphony Orchestra. The Byzantine Court Church of All Saints at the east side is facing the Marstall, the building for the former Court Riding School and the royal stables.
The first buildings at this site were erected in the year 1385. The Silver Tower, as the strongest bastion, was significantly situated next to the inner walls protecting the castle against the city. This sturdy new castle, surrounded by wide moats at what used to be the very north eastern corner of the new double ring of walls, replaced the difficult to defend Old Court in the middle of the town as residence of the Wittelsbach rulers.
The gothic foundation walls and the basement vaults of the old castle are the oldest surviving parts of the palace. The Residenz's development over the centuries didn't only take place out of its main centre, but in addition grew out of several single parts and extensions. Finally, after more than four centuries of development, the giant palace had practically replaced a whole former city quarter with barracks, a monastery, houses and gardens.

Munich Residenz Palace - Better than Versailles?
Tour of The Munich Residenz Palace - it might be nicer than Versailles!! This is a photo tour of the Palace that I think really does rival Versailles in its beauty. I spent a few hours one day going through this Residenz Palace in Munich and here I will share with you all of the beauty of this place.
This tour is photos with matching background music since my camera was running out of battery but, I think this makes for a nicer tour than a bunch of video clips anyway.
I hope you enjoy! And, remember, when you are in Munich, you really must visit this Residenz Palace.

The Residenz in central Munich is the former royal palace of the Wittelsbach monarchs of Bavaria.
The interior shown here just left me in awe. Of all the Palaces I saw in Bavaria, this is a must see.
It reminded me of some of the great museums where there is just so much beautiful artwork, architecture, colour and variety that your brain just stops taking in the detail because it is blown away by the volume.
The creepy relic room is one of those things where you cannot take your eyes off it because of the horror: 'Am I really seeing that??'
There really is too much jaw-dropping stuff to see here so I highly recommend visiting.
Cuvilliés Theatre has a separate entrance so you have to physically leave the Palace, hit the street and wander around to find it (might have something to do with current building/restoration work). That alone is worth seeing. It somehow felt tiny and massive at the same time. Love to see a show or something there.

1. Päpstliche Zimmer (Papal Rooms)
Beginning in the early seventeenth century, the wives of four generations of Bavarian rulers had their apartments in this area of the Residenz. The apartments are now called the Papal Rooms, after a visit to the Residenz by Pope Pius VI in 1782
In 1666-67 Electress Henriette Adelaide, a princess of the House of Savoy, had her mother-in-law's apartments remodelled in the ornate late Baroque style associated with the Italian city of Turin. Richly carved, gilt ceilings and a few ceiling paintings are all that remain of this decoration. The last person to live in the apartments was Electress Maria Amalia, the wife of Elector Karl Albrecht, who later became Emperor Karl VII. She occupied them from 1730 to 1756 and, although she hardly altered the seventeenth-century decoration, she did install furniture in the latest Rococo style.
Remodelling in the nineteenth century and bomb damage in the Second World War have largely destroyed the grandeur and splendour of the apartments. The Herzkabinett (Cabinet of Hearts), for example, named after the cult of the heart celebrated in its ceiling painting, was damaged so severely in the war that only a partial reconstruction was possible.
2.Reiche Zimmer (Ornate Rooms)
Elector Karl Albrecht had the Reiche Zimmer, one of the most sumptuous sequences of rooms in the entire Residenz designed and furnished from 1730 to 1733 by the architect François Cuvilliés. With these state apartments Karl Albrecht sought to substantiate his claim to the Imperial throne.
Cuvilliés designed not only the floor plan of the rooms, but also their furnishings, encompassing everything from the carved wall panelling and ceiling stucco to parts of the furniture. Drawing on the expertise of other court artists, he was able to create a unique series of interiors that are works of art in their own right and were augmented by expensive furniture from Paris and by precious textiles.
3.In the audience chamber of the Reiche Zimmer foreign envoys were granted audiences in the presence of the entire court. The Elector received his guest standing beneath a red velvet canopy and in front of a chair placed on a dais covered with a carpet.
4.In the Grüne Galerie (Green Gallery) splendid gatherings took place on two evenings a week, when the Elector invited selected members of court to attend. On such occasions, the gallery and the other rooms in this sequence were brightly lit, the light from hundreds of candles increased by their reflection in the large mirrors and the gilding on the walls.
The Grüne Galerie, which takes its name from the wall hangings of green silk damask, was a gallery of mirrors used not only for festive gatherings, but also for displaying pictures.
The paintings in their elaborate gilt frames are arranged above one another in tiers of three alternating with tall mirrors. Elector Karl Albrecht chose the pictures from the extensive collections of the Wittelsbach family. They included works of the highest quality, but many of them were later moved, some to the Alte Pinakothek. Happily, in 2011 it was possible to almost completely restore the original hanging arrangement with the support of the Bavarian State Art Collections. The Green Gallery has thus been restored to its former splendour as an important electoral assembly room and as a place of absolutistic power representation.
5.In the conference chamber of the Reiche Zimmer Elector Karl Albrecht conducted political or private conversations. Only persons of the highest rank or members of his immediate family were permitted to visit him in this Secret Cabinet.
Because this room occupied a more important place in court etiquette than the other reception rooms in the Reiche Zimmer its stucco, carving and furnishings are even more ornate.
6.As one early document reveals, the state bedroom in the Reiche Zimmer served only display, not the comforts of relaxation. It was conceived solely in terms of display.
7.The architect François Cuvilliés followed French practice by adjoining two small rooms, or cabinets, to the state bedroom. The first was designed as a room for writing and relaxing, the second as a cabinet of mirrors and porcelain.
8.This tiny room, the Miniaturenkabinett (Cabinet of Miniatures), is the last of the Reiche Zimmer. The large mirror on the rear wall has a counterpart at the opposite end, in the Grüne Galerie. The mirrors give the impression that the sequence of rooms stretches out indefinitely in both directions.
