Greece Winter - Part 2 [ Nafplio ]
If you've not watched Part 1, watch it with the link below :
Part 2 starts off with Nafplio after the 477km drive from Kalampaka. We went to visit the Ancient Mycenae Citadel (20+km if I'm not mistaken) and the Treasury of Atreus. After that we bought some oranges on the roadside which coincidentally had an Art Gallery which sold us some souvenirs. Them we went to the Palamidi Castle which was on top of a huge mountain. It brought us breathtaking views throughout our whole visit there as you can see through the stills i added inside the video. Next, we went down to the Nafplio Port and took some photos. At night the little town was filled with Christmas lights which made it look magical. The next day we left early as we had to drive back to Athens to catch a flight to Santorini which you'll see in Part 3. On the way to Athens Airport, we stopped to see the Corinth Canal. It is a man made canal for huge ships and boats to pass through.
Part 3 and 4 are done, I'll post them soon :) Stay Tuned.
Please subscribe if you've not, like it and share it with your family and friends.

Song Lyrics: Back in the medieval age
Rumors've been spreading like disease
Ignorance was controllin' the minds
The trodden was the way of peace
No progression, just salvation
What the holy fathers preached
God will judge upon your sins
If you're spoiled, you're in the pit
Scientists and savants sentenced,
Members of an evil breed
Illuminate with their pyre
What's unholy, set to extinct
They abuse the words He preached,
Ordered by the evil creed
In disguise, Devil's rites,
Invoked God's truest lies
Writings of our ancestors
Burned to placate Creator's wrath
Thought this way we could avoid
To swerve to that dark path
For almost 500 years
This persistence was reaping souls
Mothers, daughters, fathers, sons
Victims of a holy war
Burned in fires of redemption
Harvested the sinner-souls
All these crimes had been done
In the name of Father, God!
They abuse the words He preached,
Ordered by the evil creed
In disguise, Devil's rites,
Invoked God's truest lies
BURN...BURN...BURN...
BURN THE WITCH
Burned in fires of redemption
Harvested the sinner-souls
All these crimes had been done
In the name of Father, God!
They abuse the words He preached,
Ordered by the evil creed
In disguise, Devil's rites,
Invoked God's truest lies
They abuse the words He preached,
ordered by the evil creed
Inquisition, Holy Mission
fight the heretic's beliefs

Ioannina, Greece ( Ιωάννινα, Ελλάδα ) - What to see in Ioannina Greece
Ioannina, Greece ( Ιωάννινα, Ελλάδα ) - What to see in Ioannina
Ioannina or Yannena is one of Northern Greece's most atmospheric cities. Built at the banks of lake Pamvotida is a place full of history and art. The city is fascinating, ideal for vacation throughout the year. Ioannina has everything: important archaeological sights, a lake and a small island in its middle, surrounded by mountains, intense nightlife and an excquisite traditional cuisine. Ioannina is also known as the city of silversmiths and as gastronomical paradise. It is the perfect blend between history of the old and a sprawling modern city infrastructure built to accommodate tourists of all nations. For centuries, Christians, Jews and Muslims coexisted in the alleys of this oldest, walled part of Ioannina. Ioannina still has cobblestone streets and interesting architecture. As you wander these atmospheric streets, fascinating attractions will catch your eye.
The castle town of Ioannina is the oldest byzantine fortress in Greece and is one of the few castles that is still inhabited. Some important monuments inside its walls are the Its Kale Acropolis there you will see the Fetiche Mosque where you will learn about the story of Ali Pasa and the role that played in the history of the city. The Fetiyie mosque is built at the highest point of the acropolis, where, according to historical sources, previously stood the metropolitan church of Archangel Michael during the late Byzantine period. The Fetiyie mosque became the religious centre of the acropolis throughout the 18th century. Its current form is result of the restoration works carried out during the reigh of Ali Pasha from 1795 onwards. In front of the Fetiyie mosque there are the tomb of Ali Pasa and his first wife. His decapitated body was buried there in 1822, next to his spouse Emine. Other sites that worth a visit are the Byzantine museum with an extensive collection of Byzantine icons, the ammunition depot and a Byzantine silversmithing collection.
Other interesting sites inside the castle walls are the remains of a turkish library, the tower of Bohemond, the Seraglio of Ali Pasha, the Treasury…. and much more.
The whole realm of Ioannina is just breathtaking; it is the perfect picturesque getaway for romantic couples or for a memorable family vacation. And it never gets boring, the clubs and bars are open all through the night with university students thronging in to catch fun. Ioannina boasts of wonderful restaurants and master chefs who would make you delicacies you would live to remember for a long time. Let yourself be captivated by the legends surrounding this beautiful city in Epirus.

IOANNINA: A TRIP TO THE LAKE AND ITS LEGENDS
Mosques, monasteries and memories reflected in a shimmering lake
Myths surround the city of Ioannina. They hover in the mist that often hangs over its lake and the island in its centre. This time, the myths don’t revolve around gods and heroes, but rather historical personalities. Chief among them is Ali Pasha, the maverick 19th century Turko-Albanian ruler and his court. Intertwined with Ioannina’s history, in this corner of Western Greece, other myths haunt the old, walled district, the Kastro, the citadel of Its Kale, the Byzantine monasteries on the Island and the rich museums.
They are an inseparable part of the city’s life and you will feel their presence even in its green parks, in the little shops on Independence Street, in the groups of lively university students and their hangouts, in the lakeside restaurants, bars and cafes. You’ll catch glimpses of them in the peerless work of Ioannina’s famed silversmiths. And they may even follow you up to the cave at Perama, the theatre at Dodoni and the Zagorohoria mountain villages. Let yourself be captivated by the legends surrounding this beautiful city in Epirus.
What to do in Ioannina
Lake Pamvotis: a 20,000-year-old attraction!
City life revolves around this romantic lake. Get to know it by strolling along its banks, taking a boat ride, fishing, rowing, or having a drink on the lakefront. According to geologists at Cambridge University, it was formed between 20,000 and 26,000 years ago.
Nisi: the Island, a Byzantine realm
It’s only a short boat ride to the Island, but once there, you’ll have to walk. Make sure you visit the Byzantine monasteries (Agios Panteleimon), which all have wonderful frescoes. And then take some time to learn about Ali Pasha, the Lion of Epirus. Regarded by Napoleon as an equal, he was erratic, hosting a great number of foreign dignitaries in his palace, including Lord Byron. Finish your visit on a lighter note with a feast of local specialties, such as grilled trout and eel, at one of the island’s tavernas.
A walk by the lake with the mist for company
In early morning, a curtain of mist invariably hangs over the lake. When it lifts, the figures of cyclists, fishermen and strollers emerge on the lakeshore path, like paintings amidst the scattered sculptures by Epirot artists. You’ll walk in the shadow cast by the Kastro’s two mosques – Aslan and Fetihe.
The Kastro, a melting pot of religions and cultures
For centuries, Jews, Christians and Muslims coexisted in the alleys of this oldest, walled part of Ioannina. And their children played amongst Muslim monuments and synagogues. Today many of their pastel-coloured Macedonian-style houses are still lived in or have become boutique hotels. As you wander these atmospheric streets in the shadow of its sturdy walls, fascinating attractions will catch your eye; the Old Synagogue, the House of Pasha Kalou, the 18th century Soufari Serai, the Turkish baths (hammams) and lots more.
Its Kale, the Kastro’s inner citadel in Ioannina
Just sit in the cafe, encircled by the impressive buildings and walls of Its Kale with the lake beyond them, and you’ll feel transported back to another era. Then go explore the citadel in depth, for here are the Fetihe Mosque (which Ali Pasha built for his seraglio’s worship), the tomb (where his headless corpse was interred), the exceptional Byzantine Museum, the resplendent Treasury, the Arcades and Bohemond’s tower.
Ancient Dodoni: oracle and theatre
A spectacular narrow valley, just 22km south of Ioannina, is the site of Dodoni, one of Greece’s most important archaeological sites. A centre of worship for the father of gods, a renowned oracle. The site’s most impressive attraction is the celebrated theatre from the 3rd century BC. With a capacity of about 18,000 spectators, it is one of the country’s largest.
The Perama Cave, pride of the Balkans
A mere 4km from Ioannina, this cave ranks among the most extraordinary in the whole of the Balkan peninsula. Geologists date its age at 1.5 million years. See if you can discover all 19 different types of stalactites. Noteable spectacles within include the large ‘hall’ of the ‘mythical palaces’, the Statue of Liberty and Santa Claus, and a chamber with breathtaking subterranean pools.
Hidden gems of Ioannina
The fine art of Ioannina’s silversmiths
Handmade jewellery, flatware, trays and ecclesiastical objects all display a standard that comes from generations of experience crafting silver. Silversmiths were among the traditional occupations in Epirus from the 18th century on, with Ateliers at the Tzoumerka villages of Kalarrytes and Syrrako.
The wonderful museums of Ioannina
These include the Byzantine Museum in Its Kale, the Municipal Folk Art Museum, the Archaeological Museum and the Athanasios Vrellis Wax Museum, at Bizani.

Archaeological Museum of Ioannina
It is located in a prominent position on the hill called Litharitsia, in the center of the city of Ioannina.
The collections of the Archaeological Museum are displayed in seven halls, the central aisle and three atria, covering a total area of 1,200 square meters. Exhibits cover a wide time span, from the first appearance of humans in Epirus during the Lower Palaeolithic, 250,000 years ago, to late antiquity in late Roman times (3rd century AD).
It is structured around three different axes: chronological, geographical and thematic. These interwined axes underpin the museum's narrative in an attempt to highlight the area's distinct character and history during antiquity.

Lyrics:
Our lives
So priceless and sacred
Worthless and profane
In a wondrous nothingness we reign
Roaming in this barren wasteland
Fleeting and eternal
We submit our will
To the Gods we vowed to kill
Baptized in freedom
But our choices are imprisoned
Enslaved beyond any reason
Killing our rights,
The greatest wrong they ever did
Corraled into this neatly safe reality
Deluded thoughts of immortality
A magnificent liberal kingdom
Of eternal darkness rises
Clocks are running backwards
Our downfall has begun
Baptized in freedom
But our choices are imprisoned
Enslaved beyond any reason
