Keeping youth occupied and educated during the Holiday Season - Musee Heritage Museum St. Albert
Here's an option for parents looking for something educational and engaging for their youth during the Holiday Season. Take them to the Musee Heritage Museum in St. Albert to learn about Internment in Canada (1914-1920).
Few people know that about 8,500 people were pulled away from their families and into internment camps because they were from countries at war with the British Empire and who resided in Canada during the war. They were called Enemy Aliens. This exhibit features stories of the internees; who they were, the conditions they endured and the legacy they left behind. Visit museeheritage.ca for more information.

Celebrating the ROM
Renaissance ROM became the most successful cultural fundraising campaign in Canadian history with over $282 million raised in support of the Royal Ontario Museum.
This transformational project restored the ROM's heritage buildings and galleries, created a provocative landmark — the Michael Lee-Chin Crystal — doubled the number of artifacts on display in the Museum, and has sparked city-wide excitement in art, culture and the natural world.
St. Albert, Alberta
St. Albert is a city in Alberta, Canada on the Sturgeon River northwest of the City of Edmonton. It was originally settled as a Métis community, and is now the second-largest city in the Edmonton Capital Region. St. Albert first received its town status in 1904 and was reached by the Canadian Northern Railway in 1906.
Originally separated from Edmonton by several miles of farmland, the 1980s expansion of Edmonton's city limits placed St. Albert immediately adjacent to the larger city on St. Albert's south and east sides.
