Las Palmas is a capital of Gran Canaria, one of Spain's Canary Islands off northwestern Africa. A major cruise-ship port, the city is known for duty-free shopping and for its sandy beaches. Playa del Confital (Confital Beach), southwest of the peninsula of La Isleta, is a natural extension of Las Canteras Beach.
The Museo Canario is located in the historic district of Vegueta. Founded in 1879, it is an international partner of the Council for Scientific Research (CSIC). The Casa Museo de Colón is in the Plaza de San Antonio Abad, behind the cathedral of Santa Ana. The Casa Museo Pérez Galdós is located in the Triana neighborhood of the city. It is the birthplace of Benito Pérez Galdós. The Museo Néstor is in the neighborhood of Garden City. Dedicated to the modernist painter Néstor Martín-Fernández de la Torre. The Teatro Pérez Galdós was designed by the architect Francisco Jareño y Alarcón in 1867. The Cuyás Theater, on the stage of the former Cine Cuyás is a work of rationalist Canarian architect Miguel Martín Fernández de la Torre. The Atlantic Center of Modern Art (CAAM), opened in 1989, is one of the most important references for the cultural and artistic life of the Canary Islands.

El Pueblo Canario es un complejo arquitectónico ubicado en el barrio de Ciudad Jardín de la ciudad de Las Palmas de Gran Canaria (Islas Canarias, España), compuesto por un conjunto de casas inspiradas en la arquitectura tradicional canaria.
Con la idea de interesar a los turistas por la cultura de Gran Canaria surgió el Pueblo Canario. Las primeras trazas de su diseño, realizado por el artista local Néstor Martín Fernández de la Torre, datan de 1937. Su construcción fue encomendada a su hermano, el arquitecto Miguel Martín Fernández de la Torre, a quien el ayuntamiento de la ciudad encargó la redacción del proyecto técnico y la delimitación del conjunto. Las obras darían comienzo en el año 1939 en un solar ubicado dentro del Parque Doramas en el barrio de Ciudad Jardín, cuya urbanización Miguel Martín había planificado unos años antes.
El Pueblo Canario constituye la plasmación del ingenio artístico de ambos hermanos. Está conformado por una plaza irregular cerrada por varias edificaciones que ambientan un rincón típico. El complejo ocupa un área total de cerca de 3.500 m² y dentro de él se encuentra una gran plaza central que organiza el conjunto, y donde se ofrecen espectáculos folclóricos al aire libre. La plaza está rodeada por tiendas de artesanía local, una ermita, que recuerda a la que antaño estuvo ubicada en el mismo lugar, y un bodegón canario, donde se sirve una representativa muestra de la gastronomía canaria.
En el Pueblo Canario también se encuentra el Centro de Iniciativas Turísticas y el Museo Néstor, dedicado a la vida y obra del artista modernista, Néstor de la Torre.

Ethnografisches Museum Casas Cuevas de Artenara
Der Ort wurde von uns im November 1016 besucht.
Das ethnografische Museum liegt in einer alten Höhlenwohnung, die wahrscheinlich bereits von den prähispanischer Bewohnern dieses Ortes benutzt worden ist.
Die Höhle wurde 1962 von Santiago Aranda erworben, der sie wieder bewohnbar machte und dabei die Charakteristiken eines typischen traditionellen Wohnraums des Dorfes beibehielt.
Nach ihrem Erwerb machte die Gemeindeverwaltung ein Museum für heimische Ethnografie daraus.
Der Innenraum ist mit sehr typischem Mobiliar ausgestattet. In ihren Unterkünften findet man Eisenbetten mit Überwürfen aus heimischem Handwerk, Kästen aus Zedernholz und Kienspan, Stühle und Hocker in strengen Linien sowie weitere Einzelheiten mit dem eigentümlichen ethnografischen Charakter der rustikalen Wohnungen des Ortes.
Die repräsentativsten Berufe von Artenara werden hier ausgestellt.
Ein einzigartiger Raum, geschaffen, um uns an den Wert und die Schönheit des einfachen Lebens zu erinnern. Ein Ort, der nette Erinnerungen erwecken und uns zurückgeben will, der aber auch daran erinnern will, dass man ohne so viele materielle, manchmal überflüssige Dinge leben kann.
Geöffnet jeden Tag des Jahres von 11:30 bis 16:00h, der Zutritt ist kostenlos.
Nach der Besichtigung lädt Artenara Sie ein, sich im Innenhof des Museums Casas Cuevas niederzusetzen und die Stille und den Gesang der Vögel zu genießen und den breiten Panoramablick über die Barranco Grande, und die kleinen Erinnerungen, die diese Höhlen in Ihnen erweckt haben könnten.
