The Museo ng Kasaysayang Panlipunan ng Pilipinas provides a glimpse of Filipino social history in the past and today. It is housed in the mansion built by Mariano Pamintuan and Valentina Torres in 1890 as a wedding gift to their son, Florentino. The mansion has since served various uses:
Headquarters of General Antonio Luna in April 1899;
Seat of the Philippine republic in May 1899;
Site of the first anniversary celebration of the declaration of Philippine independence on 12 June 1899;
Headquarters of General MacArthur in November 1899;
Station occupied by Japanese Kamikaze pilots during the Second World War;
Club house of the United Services Organization, Inc. between 1946 to 1947; and
Hotel in 1949.
The mansion also changed hands. In 1959, the Pamintuan’s sold the mansion to Pedro Tablante, who leased the property to the local government in 1964. The Central Bank of the Philippines acquired the house in 1981 and used it as its regional office from 1993 to 2009. Through a memorandum agreement dated 17 June 2010, the ownership of the mansion was transferred to the National Historical Commission of the Philippines, where it now stands as a museum

VISITA IGLESIA PAMPANGA 2019 | Philippines Vlog # 309
Good day #kabungGUYS!
Every Holy Week in the Philippines, there is a tradition that we follow yearly and it is known as Visita Iglesia. The general practice is to visit seven churches either on Maundy Thursday or Good Friday and recite the Stations of the Cross.
I was actually clueless what churches to visit in Pampanga since we have a lot of beautiful churches here. What I did was, I googled Visita Iglesia Pampanga Guide and the top suggestion by Google was a website/blogsite which is the PinoyAdventurista.com
Disclaimer: I did a revision on the itinerary instead of going to Apu Mamacalulu Shrine which is a bit farther inside Angeles, we went to Carmelite Monastery.
Since we are from Dau, we headed south to San Fernando via North Luzon Expressway and exited at San Fernando toll gate. For us to be quick and be familiar with the exact location of the churches that we'll go to, we used Waze which made our life easier and gave us the fastest route going to those churches. Here is our itinerary:
1. Metropolitan Cathedral of San Fernando (City of San Fernando, Pampanga)
The Metropolitan Cathedral of San Fernando formerly Cathedral of Our Lady of the Assumption is a neo-classical church. It is the seat of the Archdiocese of San Fernando.
2. San Guillermo Parish Church (Bacolor, Pampanga)
San Guillermo Parish Church is named after San Guillermo, the patron saint of Bacolor, Pampanga, where the church is erected. On September 3, 1995, lahar flow from the slopes of Mt. Pinatubo which erupted on June 15, 1991, buried the church at half its 12-m height prompting its more than 50,000 town residents to evacuate to safer grounds in resettlement areas.
3. St. James the Apostle Parish Church or Betis Church (Betis, Guagua, Pampanga)
The St. James the Apostle Parish Church commonly known as Betis Church is a Baroque style church under the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of San Fernando. The church was established in 1607 and dedicated to Saint James, the Apostle.
4. Immaculate Conception Parish Church or Guagua Church (Guagua, Pampanga)
The Immaculate Conception parish church, also known as the Guagua Church, is a 17th-century Baroque church. In 1982, a historical marker bearing the brief history of the church was installed on the facade by the church by the National Historical Committee, precursor of the National Historical Commission of the Philippines. Today, the church is under the care of the Immaculate Conception parish of the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of San Fernando.
5. San Agustin Church or Lubao Church (Lubao, Pampanga)
The San Agustin parish church, also known as the Lubao church, is a 17th-century Neo-classic, Spanish stone and brick church. In 1952, a historical marker bearing a brief history of the structure was installed on the facade of the church by the Historical Committee of the Philippines, precursor of the National Historical Commission of the Philippines. In 2013, the church has been declared by the National Museum of the Philippines as an Important Cultural Property.
6. Carmelite Monastery and Church (Angeles City, Pampanga)
This is a monastery and church few blocks away from Holy Rosary Parish Church. This is located at Sto. Rosario St. in Angeles City. The Carmelite Monastery in Angeles is home to the Carmelite nuns.
7. Holy Rosary Parish Church or Sto. Rosario Parish Church ( Angeles City, Pampanga)
The Holy Rosary Parish, formerly known as Santo Rosario Church, today fondly called by locals as Pisambang Maragul (Big Church) stands in the epicenter of the old Culiat town, now Angeles, Pampanga, Philippines. The church has recently been recognized by the National Commission for Culture and the Arts as a national historical site. It has a Modernistic Spanish Architectural Design and was noted as the oldest church in Angeles City.

Angeles City - Exploring the Beauty of Pampanga
Angeles is a city in the Philippines. Dotting the Santo Rosario District are period buildings, such as the colonial Holy Rosary Church, built in the late 19th century. Housed in a restored 1920s building, the Museo Ning Angeles explores local history. City landmarks include the opulent 1890s Pamintuan Mansion and the stone Founders' Residence, built in 1824. West of the city is the active volcano Mount Pinatubo.
When you visit, expect to see lots of historical memorials honoring American forces and plenty of neighborhoods that were once the stomping grounds for American troops. When the air force base closed down, many Americans stayed. That is why you’ll find a heavy expat community here and plenty of American food, restaurants, and shops that cater towards western desires.
Formerly home to the largest American Air Force Base outside of the states, Angeles city has been hyper-kicked into full urbanization. There has been a lot of international influence here throughout modern history by the American Air force, WWII Japanese invaders, and Spanish conquistadors. You’ll see this reflected in monuments, street names, food, and more.
The climate here is categorized as “Tropical Savanna” and “Tropical Monsoon”. You’ll find the wettest times of the month between May and October, with the remainder of the year relatively dry. The hottest month that Angeles City experiences is June- it typically reaches around 90 degrees Fahrenheit.
