Mahón, or Maó, is the capital of the Spanish island of Menorca. It’s known for its British-style Georgian houses and sheltered harbor. Santa María Church, with an ornate 19th-century organ, sits on central Plaça de la Constitució. Next to the church, the City Hall has a Renaissance facade and a clock donated by the island’s first British governor. The Menorca Museum displays art and exhibits on the island's history.
Maó-Mahón is a municipality, the capital city of the island of Menorca, and seat of the Island Council of Menorca. The city is located on the eastern coast of the island, which is part of the autonomous community of the Balearic Islands, Spain. Maó-Mahón has one of the largest natural harbours in the world: 5 km (3.1 mi) long and up to 900 metres (2,953 feet) wide. The water is deep but it remains mostly clear due to it being slightly enclosed. It is also said to be the birthplace of mayonnaise.
Mahon Port is a lovely place to visit all the restaurants and cafes, the lovely little market and all the wonderful yachts sitting in the port along with the big cruise liners that dock. You can climb the steps up to the top of the port area.

Menorca (also Minorca) is the second largest island of the Balearic Islands, located in the Mediterranean Sea. The island is split into eight administrative divisions. Menorca is a highly desirable place to visit because of its beautiful beaches, variety of holiday resorts and alfresco dining. The island has a population of about 94 383 (end of 2010).

Mahón
Damos un pequeño paseo por nuestra capital, Mahón. No os podéis perder los lugares obligatorios de esta gran ciudad. El puerto de Mahón, uno de los puertos naturales más grandes del mundo con una de sus islas, la isla del Rey. Paseo por el centro y visita de la Iglesia de Santa María, del siglo XV, tampoco os podéis perder el Museo de Menorca. La increíble fortaleza de defensa La Mola, construida en el año 1782. Un lugar escondido en Es Grau, como es l'Albufera, a tan solo 2 kilómetros, es un espacio natural protegido. No os vayáis de la isla sin antes visitar la fábrica de elaboración de nuestra bebida más popular, el Gin Xoriguer!

El llegat arqueològic d'Antoni Vives Escudero al Museu de Menorca
El Museu de Menorca permet veure des d'avui i fins al 29 de gener de l’any que ve el fons que integra l'extraordinària col•lecció de l'arqueòleg i acadèmic Antoni Vives Escudero, mort el 1925, que la seva viuda va cedir el 1946 al llavors Museu Provincial de Belles Arts de Maó. Hi trobam des d'aquesta excepcional cuirassa de bronze del segle VI aC fins a aquesta gerra ciclàdica que, segons alguns, és de procedència menorquina o aquest cap masculí en pedra procedent del Cerro de los Santos, a Albacete. Sense deixar de banda les monedes.

Menorca Cheese
Minorca is a dairy producing island and therefore it is not surprising to note that these products dominate the markets, cheeses, cold meat sausages and milk. These products have a special taste due to the strong gusts of Tramontana wind, that soak the fields with sea salt, making it a delicacy for the grazing cattle and hence the milk and the islands dairy products has that special taste.

Isola di Minorca: il faro di Cavalleria e il suo museo
Aperto nel Giugno 2015 il “Centro de Interpretación del Faro de Cavalleria” è davvero imperdibile. Il Museo si trova proprio sotto il faro di Cavalleria (che al momento non è visitabile, sebbene sia attivo) e raccoglie moltissime informazioni riguardanti Minorca. Una sala è dedicata alla formazione geologica dell’isola e presenta i diversi, splendidi paesaggi che compongono la Costa Nord (da Ciutadella ad Es Grau). Una parte interattiva permette di avvicinarsi alla diversità di flora e fauna isolane, mentre l’ultima sala è dedicata alla vita che un tempo conducevano i guardiani del faro e le loro famiglie. Il Museo si presenta con lo slogan “Cap Cavalleria: il nord del nord”, essendo il faro il punto più settentrionale dell’intero arcipelago baleare.
