Excursie Wapenbroeders naar Museum Bevrijdende Vleugels in Best op 30 november 2018
Op 30 november 2018 bezocht de Afdeling Midden-Brabant het Museum Bevrijdende Vleugels in Best. Door twee rondleiders werd het heftige verhaal verteld van – onder meer - de bevrijding van Zuid-Nederland aan het einde van de Tweede Wereldoorlog. Het museum ligt op het terrein in het gebied waar op 17 september 1944 luchtlandingen plaatsvonden tijdens de Operatie Market Garden. Deze operatie luidde de bevrijding van Zuid-Nederland in. In de verschillende hallen werden de bezetting, de onderdrukking en de uiteindelijke bevrijding, uitvoerig belicht.

Unfortunately, the operation was not a succes. because the German panzer divisions were too strong. the museum is certainly worth a visit, as they also have very special thing as a look inside the cockpit of a C-47 and in the entire airplane.

The Wings of Liberation Museum tells the compelling story of the liberation of the southern Netherlands at the end of World War II. The museum is situated in the area where, on 17 September 1944, airborne operations as part of Operation Market Garden marked the beginning of the liberation of the southern Netherlands. The timeline comprises the entire period from the occupation in 1940 and the repression years 1940-1944, through to the liberation in the final months of 1944.

Het transport van een MIG-vliegtuig van Museum Bevrijdende Vleuegels naar Maasbracht ging vrijdag niet door, omdat de vleugels in de weg zaten.

Het Landelijk Platform voor Levende Geschiedenis (LPLG) is een overkoepelend orgaan voor Nederlandse verenigingen die zich bezig houden met levende geschiedenis en met opnieuw opvoeren 're-enactment' van historische gebeurtenissen.
Op donderdag 5 mei verzorgt de Historische Re- enactment Vereniging Nederland (HRVN) een World War || evenement aan de Uitwatering. Hierbij kunt u een Duits kampement met loopgraven zien. Verder zijn er tal van demonstraties en een heus World War || battle, een geënsceneerd gevecht waarvoor de spelers zich helemaal hebben ingeleefd in hun rol. Er komen ook een aantal voortuigen langsrijden van 'Keep them Rolling'

In museum Bevrijdende Vleugels in Best vloog een gecrashte Dakota vrijdagmiddag weer eventjes toen hij op zijn nieuwe plekje werd getakeld.
