Today we visit the past in the little medieval city of Murten Switzerland on the south-east bank of lake Murten. Its original appearance is preserved well throughout the years, with the picturesque alleyways and the pleasant shady arcades.
Situated on the language border between the French and German speaking parts of Switzerland, the town has a lovely lakeside promenade and offers a wide range of cultural activities.

Twelfth day of travels through France & Switzerland. We visit Bern's famous clock tower, Zytglogge-Turm. Then we visit Murten before taking the train to Basel's Euro Airport.

Murten, or Morat, is a German- and French-speaking medieval town on the southeast shore of Lake Murten, in western Switzerland. Its defensive walls offer views of the lake and the decorated arcades of the old town. The Murten Museum has archaeological finds and a multimedia display about local history. Nearby, the baroque German Church has a 15th-century wooden pulpit, a stucco ceiling and a Gothic choir.

Mehr als 65’000 Besucher am Lichtfestival Murten 2018
Trotz des zu Beginn garstigen und regnerischen Wetters wurden die Erwartungen des Organisationskomitee übertroffen. Nachdem zu Beginn des Festival mit 30’000 - 50’000 Besuchern gerechnet wurde, sind mehr als 65’000 Besucher während den 12 Tagen durch die Altstadt spaziert und haben auch das Seeufer in neuem zauberhaften Licht entdeckt.

Interaktive Fassadenprojektion mit Licht – Interventionen am Murten Lichtfestival 2018
Die zwei Aargauer Künstler Stephan Athanas und Michael Omlin präsentierten ein spannendes medienkünstlerisches Projekt am Murten Lichtfestival. Über- und Unterwasser - Bildwelten wurden als Projektion auf die Fassade des Hotel Schiff geworfen. Die Bilder luden zum Abtauchen in die Tiefen des Ozeans ein. Die Betrachter gestalteten die Szene interaktiv mit. Aus dem Innern des Gebäudes antworteten Lichter, sichtbar durch Fenster und Torbögen des Schiffs. Innen und Aussen, Oben und Unten, traten in einen spannenden Dialog, welcher durch eine kreative Klangwelt unterstützt wurde. Projektion und Klangwelt stammen aus der Feder von Stephan Athanas, die Lichtregie von Michael Omlin.

Projection interactive de façade avec interventions lumière - au Murten Lichtfestival 2018.
Les deux artistes argoviens Stephan Athanas et Michael Omlin ont présenté un projet d'art médiatique passionnant au Murten Licht Festival. Les mondes des images sur l’eau et sous-marins ont été projetés sur la façade de l'Hôtel Schiff à Morat. Les images vous ont invité à plonger dans les profondeurs de l'océan. Le spectateur a contribué de manière interactive à la scène. De l'intérieur du bâtiment, les lumières ont répendu, visibles à travers les fenêtres et les arcades du navire. L'intérieur et l'extérieur, le haut et le fond, sont entrés dans un dialogue passionnant, soutenu par un paysage sonore créatif. La conception de la projection et du son de Inside-out! viennent de Stephan Athanas, la conception de la lumière de Michael Omlin.

Mit Past and Future, einer Arteplage an der Fassade des Museums Murten, entdecken wir eine humorvolle und poetische Reise durch die Zeit. Von der Entstehung und dem Gebrauch des Lichts bis zu seinen futuristischen Visionen; Licht und Ton dieser Zeitreise wurden von Adrian Scherzinger, Filmemacher unter dem Namen edprojects, und Bobby Gertsch und David Muther realisiert.
