This is a walk through of this aviation museum and rather than explain all, this is set to music to give a lyrical look and feel of what these aircraft were in their day of flying.
There's a Mirage jet fighter; a Transavia Airturk which you may recognise from the MAD MAX movies; Gyro Copters; Helicopters; model aircraft, Wheeler Scout, Circle CW, male and female uniforms and even a Bofors Gun. Is that the Red Baron somewhere?

Aussie Army Tiger Taming at Oakey -A38
The Australian Army has the Eurocopter Tiger as it's Armed Reconnaissance Helicopter and flying training is done at the Oakey Army Aviation Base in South-east Queensland. Lots of open farmland to play over. This footage was shot during a fly-in for the Army Aviation Museum in October 2009. Note that there is a lot of wind noise from 0.30 to 1.52, so you may prefer to turn the sub-woofers down for this, then back up. Also the strobing effect from shutter speed and screen refresh may cause the rotor to appear to turn backwards. Obviously that didn't happen.
Australian Army Aviation Corps Groundcrew
The Australian Army soldiers who make up the Australian Army Aviation Corps are highly skilled and dedicated professionals who are capable of maintaining and operating our various helicopters in the most challenging environments in order to help Army fight and win on land as well as support the Australian community and communities overseas in emergencies.
Australian Army Aviation Corps pilots, loadmasters, technicians and other ground crew are typically posted to the Army Aviation Training Centre at Oakey in Queensland or one of Army’s three flying regiments: 1st Aviation Regiment in Darwin, 5th Aviation Regiment in Townsville and 6th Aviation Regiment in Sydney.
Army aviation traces its origins to the Australian Flying Corps, which was created just prior to the First World War in 1912 to best employ fixed-wing aircraft on the battlefield.
Today, the Australian Army Aviation Corps operates Sikorsky S-70A-9 Black Hawk, Boeing CH-47D Chinook, Eurocopter Tiger armed reconnaissance and MRH-90 Taipan multi-role helicopters.

Queensland Air Museum on the Sunshine Coast
#visitsunshinecoast Unless you're an avid aviation fan, you might be surprised to learn that one of best air museums in Australia is located on the Sunshine Coast.
Queensland Air Museum has an impressive collection of historical military and passenger aircraft, aircraft engines, equipment, photographs, models and books.
Collections highlight the aviation history of Queensland and Australia, such as displays on Charles Kingsford Smith, women in aviation, World War II, the Korean and Vietnam wars, Qantas Airways and the Royal Flying Doctor Service.
The centrepiece is a General Dynamics F-111, which is on loan from the Royal Australian Air Force. The F-111s were best known for their fiery dump and burn exhibitions at air shows around Australia. They could fly at two-and-a-half times the speed of sound and when they retired were still one of the fastest strike aircraft in the world.
The museum also has operational aircraft and engines dating from the 1940s.
The sound of a 1500-horsepower 14-cylinder radial engine powering up is an unforgettable experience. You can hear the engines roar to life at the museum's Aero Engine Run Day on 28 September 2013 (10am to 4pm). Scheduled run times are 11am, 12.30 pm and 2pm. The Army at Oakey DPR/TV/1519
One hundred and two miles west of Brisbane on the lush rolling plains of the Darling Downs lies the small prosperous township of Oakey. Since its settlement last century Oakey (population 2,100) has been a dairy and wheat farming area. However over the past three years the township has assumed importance nationally as the eventual home of the Army Aviation Corps. On the outskirts of Oakey, on 570 acres which encompasses the old civil airfield, the Army Aviation Centre is gradually taking shape. Begun in 1969 the Centre will cost $8 million to build and will eventually house all major operational headquarters and administrative elements of the Corps including the present School of Army Aviation at Amberley. By the time the Centre is completed in 1974 there will be accommodation for 600 married and single men and maintenance and hanger facilities for 70 fixed wing and rotary wing aircraft. Sandwiched between the Bunya Mountains to the east and the Great Dividing Range to the west the Army Aviation Centre at Oakey is a mixture of temporary prefabricated metal buildings and the partially completed multi storey steel and concrete structures that will be the new Centre. The present huts serve as the administrative offices and the aircraft engineering and servicing workshops. The huts will be phased out as each new building is completed. At present there are more than 50 Army families from 1 Aviation Regiment and ancilliary units at Oakey. All the families live in married quarters in the town. Many of these families have developed strong social and sporting links with the towns people. Some are active members of service clubs such as Lions, Jaycees and Rotary and the RSL. Others are active in youth clubs like the Scouts and the National Fitness Council. Army teams play in the local football and cricket competitions. In football the Army field teams in both the Rugby League and Australian Rules competitions. Many of the 270 Army personnel at Oakey are actively helping in the welfare of the town. The young Army doctor at the Aviation Centre spends his spare time teaching first aid to the local ambulance association. Some of the young single men work as voluntary life guards at the town's swimming pool during their leisure time. Others give up their spare time to coach school children in cricket and football and tennis. Everywhere there is an effort by the men from the Aviation Centre to participate and contribute to the very fabric of life in Oakey. The Army has members in the local Chamber of Commerce and on the Agricultural Show Committee. Army wives are also taking an active part in the town's life. Two wives are teachers. One teaches at the High School and the other at the Primary School. Three other wives work as nursing sisters at the local District Hospital. Still another plays an active role in the running of a local kindergarten. To the Army men and their families Oakey is their town and they intend to contribute to its development. Oakey is not an isolated case of an Army base integrating into the social and business life of the community. This happens in varying degrees at all Army establishments throughout Australia. Where ever bases are established, particularly in the country areas, new jobs are created and economic benefits flow on to the local business houses from the influx of Army personnel and their families. Also identified: 166901 Sergeant (Sgt) Brian Francis Spilsbury, 27, a fireman, his wife Annette, 24, a nursing sister; 5715740 Sgt D. J. Price, 25, a stores clerk; Sgt Page; Nurse Ann Hitchener; Matron Rita Hele; Major David Millie of Hawthorn, Vic, former OC of 16 Aviation Squadron; Captain (Capt) Richard Neville, 26 of 16 Aviation Squadron, wife Sharon, 22, teacher; 15903 Sgt Brian John Lewis, 32, of Brisbane, Qld; Corporal Phil Clark of Salisbury, SA; 42780 Capt Robert Warren Thomson, 31, of Sydney, NSW; Capt Don Trick.
RARE! Royal Australian Air Force Airbus A330-203MRTT @ Toronto Pearson Int'l September 20, 2017
IN THIS VIDEO:
Hello everyone! Welcome to this video!
Lets start military week on my channel! From Monday-Friday, I will be uploading all the military catches that I caught during the time the 2017 Invictus Games were held here in Toronto.
The very first 2017 Invictus Games military movement was the Australian Team arriving on a Royal Australian Air Force Airbus A330-203MRTT. This flight was somewhat expected by us since a few of the spotters I knew noticed that Airshow London 2017 had this exact aircraft invited for static and we knew that the Aussies had to come for a much more legitimate reason. So we presumed that they would come to drop off the team and then head to London a few days later. Well, that's exactly how it happened.
On Wednesday evening, I headed out to Toronto Pearson Int'l after seeing a Royal Australian Air Force Airbus A330-203MRTT, ASY636 flying east over the United States on radar. And sure enough, it did end up here in Toronto. The flight took off from Sydney with a stopover in Honolulu before continuing on and arriving on RWY 06L in Toronto where they parked at the Hotel Gates where the Australian Team was offloaded.
Enjoy the video everyone and I'll catch you all in the next one!
