The Buffalo Nations Indian Museum and Bow River Falls in Banff, Canada
Banff Park Museum Video
A short film introducing the Banff Park Museum, a National Historic Site of Canada.
While searching for bears, a family discovers the Banff Park Museum. Upon entering the museum they are given a tour by Norman Sanson, the last curator of the museum. Since his retirement in 1932, much of the historical collection and original architecture has remained the same, making the museum itself an exhibit.

The Cave and Basin National Historic Site of Canada is located in the town of Banff, Alberta, within the Canadian Rocky Mountains, at the site of natural thermal mineral springs around which Canada's first national park, Banff National Park, was established. The Canadian National Park system was effectively born because of the hot springs, discovered accidentally by three Canadian Pacific Railway employees on their day off in 1883, but known to Aboriginals for 10,000 years and a special healing cave. They noticed steam escaping from a large hole in the side of the mountain. One man descended through the skylight entrance into the cave using a felled tree. Further investigation led them to enjoy a dip in the mineral-rich waters of a sulpherous-smelling spring, making them the first white men to bath in what became Banff's renowned Upper Hot Springs at Sulphur Mountain.

The Bar U Ranch National Historic Site is the only National Historic Site to commemorate the history and importance of ranching in Canada. In the Video Cowboy Singer Lewis Martin Pederson is featured This video shows how the Bar U Ranch celebrates ranching heritage and the cowboy way of life. Visit “the ranch that fed the world”, the historic Bar U Ranch. Located south of Longview, Alberta, the Bar U was one of the first corporate ranches in western Canada. The Bar U’s beef products fed Native Canadians, railroad workers, Mounties, and were shipped to cities in the U.S. and Britain. Now a Parks Canada site, the Bar U has ties to the Prince of Wales, to one of Canada’s most prominent black cowboys John Ware (48 minutes) and to the Calgary Stampede. The Sundance Kid (played by Robert Redford in the movie) 43 minutes once worked at the Bar U Ranch. Set in the rolling foothills of the Rockies. At its peak, the ranch extended over 160,000 acres with 30,000 cattle and 1000 Percheron horses.

At current and near future level, this is not a place for electric cars.
The West is the best. Once you get used to the mountains their absence is felt when not in their presence. The West haas coastline, agraculture, rainforests, resources and amazing people dedicated to keeping the land pure and beautiful as well as earning a living from the bounty available.
I love the West.

Chapter VII - Boyndie Airfield & The Shore Inn HD
Scotland's Battle of Britain **Special**
The Banff Strike Wing which operated from RAF Banff (Boyndie Airfield) in the closing months of World War II, often jointly with the nearby RAF Dallachy Strike Wing Beaufighter force, made a significant contribution to the defeat of Germany by denying them vital raw materials during its brief life on the exposed north-facing coast of the Moray Firth. Six squadrons joined forces to create an effective multi-national unit (including Canada and Norway), which denied Germany many thousands of tons of vital iron ore and other supplies during operations from RAF Banff between September 1944 and May 1945.
While on recreation from the airbase and duties, the crew of Boyndie Airfield also frequented The Shore Inn, Portsoy, itself witness to numerous spirit manifestations throughout its 300 year history. There have been more recent reports of an elderly woman, thought to be Mrs Duncan who used to live there. There have also been sightings of a small dog and a little girl who walk the main bar area, to name a few.

ABOUT THIS FEED:
Revelstoke, British Columbia, Canada, in the Canadian Rockies, is located on the Canadian Pacific Railway (CP), where their Shuswap Sub meets their Mountain Sub. The Shuswap Sub runs to the west to Kamloops, BC (towards Vancouver, BC), and the Mountain Sub runs to the east to Field, BC, through Rogers Pass.
The CP traverses the Canadian Rockies over 2 passes. Rogers Pass, which is to the immediate east of Revelstoke, and further east, Kicking Horse Pass, which is to the immediate east of Field. Rogers Pass is at 4,360 feet (1,330 meters), and Kicking Horse Pass is at 5,339 feet (1,627 meters). To the west of Revelstoke is the lower Eagle Pass, at 1,804 feet (550 meters).
Among the freight trains seen here are unit potash, unit grain, and unit coal. Loaded westbounds feature both mid-train and end-of-train DPU’s, and empty eastbounds have fewer engines, both on front and as DPU’s. Many but not all eastbounds will stop to enter the yard, which is located to the east of the museum and cameras. Also seen are manifests, intermodal, and combined intermodal/manifest..
On occasion, the gates will activate, but will soon after deactivate, with no train, which is due to the switcher in the yard proceeding far forward enough to enter the crossing's track circuit.
There are no VIA Rail passenger trains through Revelstoke, however, during part of the year the Rocky Mountaineer can be seen.
There are 2 ATCS layouts, one for each sub, but there is no server coverage. No radio feeds are available.
There’s no schedule for freight trains, but some of our more knowledgeable members will provide real-time information when it’s available. Please refrain from asking.
