Location County
Elvas is a county located in the southern district of Portalegre, Évora District bounded by and Spain, with 630 square kilometers in area, 25 000 inhabitants and 11 parishes.
Although the geography Alentejo not mistaken, the Municipality of Elvas has two excellent plans of water in dams Alqueva and Caia. Therefore, the occupations are fishing and nautical attractive offers, in addition to hunting.

Obwohl die Geographie Alentejo nicht irre, hat die Gemeinde Elvas zwei ausgezeichnete Pläne von Wasser in Talsperren Alqueva und Caia. Daher sind die Berufe Angeln und Wassersport attraktive Angebote, die neben der Jagd.

Sofia Areal (1960)begins her studies 1979 at the Hertfordshire College of Art and Design in St Albans, UK. In Portugal she studied etching and painting at Ar.Co. (Art and Visual Communication Center).
Her first group exhibition was in 1982 at the 1ª Mostra de Artes in Lagos, Portugal and her first solo show was in 1990 at Alda Cortez Gallery, Lisbon. Since then, Sofia has exhibited in various countries individually and collectively. She had a retrospective exhibition covering the last 10 years of her career in 2011 at the Galeria da Cordoaria Nacional the exhibition was accompanied by a monograph published by Babel, with texts by Emília Ferreira, Jorge Silva Melo, Luís Campos e Cunha. In 2012 Areal illustrates the literary magazine published by Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation, Colóquio Letras. In 2013 launches a book together with Harvard Professor, Allan Hobson – “ Creativity” and exhibits for the first time in Mexico. Followed by an exhibition in China (Macau S.A.R.) in the end of 2014 and in Oslo in 2015. In 2016 exhibits again in João Esteves de Oliveira Gallery when of the premier of the movie Sofia Areal: An anti-pain practice by Jorge Silva Melo.

Safekeeping of the typographic heritage in the Book Art Museum of Łódź - Boris Kosmynka - ATypI 2017
A country’s typography is heavily influenced by its native languages, and each has a different type case layout serving as proof. This is not unlike typographic history, which, in Poland, hints at a colorful past that is yet undiscovered.
In the basement of the Book Art Museum in Łódź lies a treasure that was almost lost. In 1992, the owner of the museum, Janusz Tryzno, acquired the inventory of the National Type Foundry in Warsaw after the typecasting and classic printing industry collapsed. From the scrap heap, Tryzno saved a quarter of a million matrices along with—literally—tons of metal type. Cases full of letters and typecasting machines (and dust!) were brought to Łódź for safekeeping.
A documentation project on this treasure began in 2016. What’s more, these amazing machines are still operational and being used by contemporary designers. In addition to serving as a living museum in the form of a typecasting and letterpress workshop, a series of experimental projects and the digitization of important typefaces is ongoing. This important piece of Polish typographic history holds a legacy to be shared—one that is inspiring passion throughout the design community.

SACO7 Contemporary Art Festival / 2018
Seventh edition of SACO Contemporary Art Festival Origin and myth deployed twelve exhibitions in its museum without a museum exhibition circuit, calling 24 thousand visits between Antofagasta and San Pedro de Atacama.
School without a school included lectures by Luis Camnitzer (Uruguay), Tiago Pinto de Carvalho (Portugal / Mexico), Rodrigo Gómez Rovira and Fernando Godoy (Chile); offered the audience a curatorial panel with members of all the exhibitions of the circuit and a colloquium on the relations between education and art, with presentations by Pablo Rojas and Jorge Padilla (Chile); invited local artists to review portfolios, carried out by Margarita Sánchez (Cuba) and Rodrigo Gómez Rovira; he organized a talk for mediators with Luis Camnitzer; two sound art workshops by Fernando Godoy and Rainer Krause (Germany / Chile); a workshop in León & Cociña (Chile), which promoted, not for the first time, the local emerging production. Classroom encounters were held in Antofagasta, given by Juan José Alfaro (Costa Rica), Teobaldo Lagos (Chile / Germany) and Thiago Guedes (Brazil); in Calama led by Gonzalo Reyes (Chile / Germany), Chan Sook Choi (Korea / Germany) and Shingo Yoshida (Japan / Germany); in María Elena given by Juan Castillo (Chile / Sweden) and participants of Intervened Deserts II; in Mejillones with Valeria Fahrenkrog (Chile / Germany); and in San Pedro de Atacama with Jacqueline Lacasa (Uruguay). Two international residences deepened themes of an intense presence in the region: Teobaldo Lagos studied the migratory phenomenon in the city and Jaqueline Lacasa deepened into archeology and anthropology in San Pedro de Atacama, both being in situ research processes that ended with an exhibition project.
In the transitory premises of the Museum Gustavo Le Paige in San Pedro de Atacama, an encounter between scientists and artists was held, trying to find a common language.
As every year, the team SACO and their guests met with the teacher and students of the basic school of Quillagua to hear how, against any logic, grows The driest place on earth. Finally, the deserts of Taltal, Pedro de Valdivia and Ollagüe were intervened in an ephemeral way, places where a minimal gesture, frequently intuitive, transforms a piece of nothing into something, for a moment.

How does photography deal with sculpture and vice-versa? Seeing the work of Jean-Luc Moulène from the middle 90s till now, it offers us a wide spectrum of thinking about this relation. Moulène is interested in the space between: photographing the consuming products from the non-existing country Palestine, the thirty-nine “Strike” objects which the workers produced during their period of strike or the “Les Filles d’Amsterdam”, portraiting their identity, their body and their working-tool. A catalogue is published by Culturgest on the occasion of the exhibition: Jean-Luc Moulène: Opus (1995-2007) Documents (1999-2007). The exhibition, curated by Miguel Wandschneider is to be seen until the November 25, 2007 at Culturgest, Lisbon / Portugal in the Gallery 2.
