Dubrovnik is a city on the Adriatic Sea in southern Croatia. It is one of the most prominent tourist destinations in the Mediterranean Sea, a seaport and the centre of Dubrovnik-Neretva County. Its total population is 42,615 (census 2011). In 1979, the city of Dubrovnik joined the UNESCO list of World Heritage sites.
The prosperity of the city was historically based on maritime trade; as the capital of the maritime Republic of Ragusa, it achieved a high level of development, particularly during the 15th and 16th centuries, as it became notable for its wealth and skilled diplomacy.
In 1991, after the break-up of Yugoslavia, Dubrovnik was besieged by Serbian and Montenegrin soldiers of the Yugoslav People's Army (JNA) for seven months and suffered significant damage from shelling. After repair and restoration works in the 1990s and early 2000s, Dubrovnik re-emerged as one of the top tourist destinations in the Mediterranean.

The 1991 Yugoslav campaign in Croatia was a series of engagements between the Yugoslav People's Army , the Yugoslav Navy and the Yugoslav Air Force, and the Croatian National Guard then the Croatian Army during the Croatian War of Independence. The JNA was originally deployed in order to preserve Yugoslavia, and the initial plan of the campaign entailed the military occupation of Croatia and the removal of the Croatian leadership elected in 1990.The JNA intervention was the culmination of its involvement in the confiscation of weapons from Croatia's Territorial Defence, and in the Croatian Serb revolt that had begun in August 1990.From that time, the JNA had been frequently deployed to form a buffer zone between the insurgents and the ZNG or the Croatian police.

Croatian War of Independence Camouflage Effectiveness
In this video we are going to look at the camouflage effectiveness of some of the commonly worn uniforms that were used by the Croatians during their war for independence. We plan on doing a whole series of videos like this involving all the different countries that took part in the Yugoslav wars.
We will be looking at these uniforms in a woodland environment during the summer time (North Texas woods). This video will consist of numerous scenes where each will begin with a concealed stationary position (both with & without the use of vegetation), followed by a movement phase out of the initial position. The purpose of this video is to give the viewer a chance to see the individual camouflage pattern and how it looks and blends into this environment. There will be varying degrees of how much of the uniform will be exposed to the viewer. Some scenes will only expose little more than perhaps a hat, while other scenes will have virtually no vegetation covering.
BIG THANKS to my buddy Bruce for coming up with the idea for this video and really making it all possible. Please check out his channel and support him by subscribing to him, thanks!

Dubrovnik has also kept the European Cultural bet against the Ottoman Muslims in a rugged high-performance and robust basis. So Western countries with Croatia are called the breakwater of European culture. And just as our travel period was in 1991 Revolutionary War battle pictures of Dubrovnik on display. October 1991, when no one believed the war began. Only seniors who experienced the Second World War only just found out what this war. They'd had a premonition of war, and the war started, soon the younger generation did not believe that a third of the time to jyeotdago department of Dubrovnik in the war, but fortunately, the cry asking Dubrovnik watched by European intellectuals a big impact With the support of UNESCO since ileukyeotgo city it had to be restored to look now. This collection is the fact that just happened long ago, this is shocking. The bluer the sea of Dubrovnik, it is felt more red roof probably because this group endured a history of pain.

The journey to the southern end of the Adriatic Sea, the starting point, took a long time via Rome and via the Croatian capital, Zagreb. If you want to see the paradise on earth, come here, said playwright Bernard Shaw, who is a mirage in the Adriatic Sea. Built in the 7th century, this small city has earned a reputation as a center of maritime trade and has accumulated tremendous wealth. At the moment when Napoleon passed this gate in 1806, the Republic's life span is at the heart of the historic 'Fleet Gate'. When you enter the square, you can see the bustle of people in a clear view. It is a medieval hero, a Roland Garon statue, with a red shawl in a French epic. Tourists from all over the world are busy scheduling visits. I travel to the city by following strangers. It faces Croatian dramatist and literary artist Marind Droitz. He says that even non - noble people dreamed of an equal and free world to be treated. It is the symbol of the city, Lector Palace. This is the office and house of the supreme leader who was in charge of the administration of this small republic. The ruler has no remuneration, and his term is as short as a month, but he can not go outside the office during his term. It is said that the phrase concentrate on public affairs is engraved on the entrance. We walked past the 300-meter-long Placa Boulevard leading up to the square and decided to look into the small alley. In the alley there are various landscapes. The guests also seem to come from all over the world. One of the souvenir shops inside the shop, the owner welcomes his hand. It's a family business, it's made of ceramic. It is not porcelain. It was made by hand. There was a familiar handwriting among the various souvenirs. It seems that the relationship with Korea is considerable. Koreans come a lot. There are so many pictures taken with Korean people.

In this brief video you can find seven little known facts about Croatia. Split, Pula or Dubrovnik are top holiday destinations today, and Zagreb, the capital of Croatia, is a cosmopolitan European city. The sign of the Yugoslavian War are long gone and if you want to travel to Croatia you won’t be disappointed.
More information about the video content bellow:
1. There are more than 1,000 islands and islets in Croatia, and only 50 are inhabited. The country has more than 3,500 miles of coastline – though it is broken north of Dubrovnik by Bosnia and Herzegovina’s 15-mile stretch, the shortest coastline in the world.
2. From 1358 until its capture by Napoleon in 1808, the walled city of Dubrovnik was the centre of a city-state known as the Republic of Ragusa. Despite its small size, it was a trading power and became a centre of learning and culture during the Renaissance. Dubrovnik was also used as the set for King’s Landing, the capital city of Westeros from HBO’s popular TV show Game of Thrones.
3. The Museum of Broken relationship is one of its kind and it is in Zagreb. It is basically a display of love gone wrong. Its exhibits include personal objects left over from former lovers, accompanied by brief descriptions.
4. The necktie has its origin in Croatia (in Croatian: Kravata, English: Cravat, French: Cravate, German: Krawatte, Italian: Cravatta, Spanish: Corvatta) and that the word cravat came from the word Croat (Hrvat in Croatian); so called because worn by Croats in the French army during the Thirty Years' War. In their own way, with the cravat, the Croats have started conquering the world from the coasts of the Adriatic Sea from 17th century. The consequences of that conquering are today felt around the necks by millions of men worldwide.
5. On the island of Susak, the women hold the title for having the only national costume that sits above the knee in Europe.
6. Constructed by Ivan Lupis Vukic in Rijeka Istria in the 19th century was the worlds first torpedo.
7. Croatia was part of the Austro-Hungarian Empire until the close of World War I in 1918, Croatia then joined Serbia and Slovenia to form the Kingdom of Jugoslavia. Post World War II, Yugoslavia became a federal independent Communist state. Croatia declared independence from Yugoslavia in 1991. In Turanj, a town south of the city of Karlovac, in central Croatia, just 10 minutes drive south from the main highway A1 that connects the Croatian capital of Zagreb with the port of Split on the Adriatic Coast, there is one of only two Croatian military museums open for the public.
Turanj na Korani is a historic outpost south of the Austro-Hungarian fortress of Karlovac, established in 1582 to control the mouth of the rivers Korana and Mreznica against Turkish invasions. Due to its strategic position, the place was continuously under military administration for the next five centuries and become particularly important during the Croatian Homeland War, in 1991-1995.
This small, open-air museum was established by a retired officer of the Croatian Army, in 2003, on the hill at the northern entrance into Turanj, just 600m from the spot where – in the words of the guide – “the aggressors from the East were stopped”. It is housed in the fascinating scenery of the former backyard of a ruined Austro-Hungarian military base, which is still clearly showing signs of combat damage from 1991 (like many other houses in Karlovac and Turanj). The Museum is destined not only to display weapons used by the Croatian military during the Homeland War, but also to preserve the memory of the people who have sacrificed their lives to defend their homeland and their town.
Although posted at the rear of the yard, an original MiG-21bis fighter of the Croatian Air Force (Hrvatske Zracne Snage, HZS) mounted on a pylon and with its nose high in the skies is unavoidably catching the eye. The aircraft is in excellent condition and – particularly important – painted in original colours, as used by the HZS back in 1995. While proudly displaying the crest of the 1st Squadron HZS and the HZS insignia, and being armed with UV-32-57 and UV-16-57 rocket pods, sadly, it shows no serial. Visible serials were applied on HZS MiG-21s only some time after the end of the war.
Another “air warfare” relevant piece on display is posted on the opposite side of the yard: wreckage of a MiG-21bis that was shot down on 9 November 1991, by the Croatian defenders of Saborsko, another village near Karlovac. The serial of the aircraft is 17130 and it is known to have served with the 117th Regiment of the former Yugoslav Air Force & Air Defence Force (Jugoslovensko Ratno Vazduhoplovstvo i Protivvazdusna Obrana, JRViPVO), from Zeljava AB, near Bihac (nowadays in Bosnia and Hercegovina).
