Happo-En - Tokyo - 八芳園- 4K Ultra HD
Happo-en is far from your average gorgeous hidden Japanese garden in central Tokyo. While its history still eludes me, it is said that Happo-en was the cherished mansion of Ōkubo Tadataka throughout his life 1560~1639 (also known as Ōkubo Hikozaemon). It is however after 1951 that Happo-en became what it is today and took its current name. Many people incorrectly translate this name to “a garden beautiful from any angle” while in fact, the most accurate translation is “Garden of Eight Views”.
Now what’s different about Happo-en is that this garden is in fact just the visible tip of the iceberg, while in fact, the core business of the location is to celebrate weddings and others events with a wide selection of facilities made to please those people looking for something more traditional.
You can rest assured that you do not need to participate in a wedding nor any other kind of special event to visit this park, indeed the park is open all year long and with free access to anyone. If you are curious about Japanese culture and need either to enjoy a traditional Japanese tea ceremony or you’re looking for a traditional Japanese lunch in a unique environment, be sure to contact one of the Happon-en staff to make a reservation!

The Broad (/broʊd/) is a contemporary art museum on Grand Avenue in Downtown Los Angeles. The museum is named for philanthropist Eli Broad, who financed the $140 million building which houses the Broad art collections. The museum offers free general admission to its permanent collection galleries. It opened on September 20, 2015.
Since 2008, Eli Broad and the Broad Art Foundation had been considering different sites for a museum for the art collection. In November 2008, the news surfaced that Broad had approached Beverly Hills about building his museum at the southeast corner of Wilshire Boulevard and Santa Monica Boulevard. In January 2010, he revealed that he was considering a 10-acre parcel on the campus of West Los Angeles College in Culver City. Meanwhile, in March 2010, the Santa Monica City Council approved an agreement in principle to lease the city-owned 2.5-acre parcel next to the Santa Monica Civic Auditorium to Eli Broad for $1 a year for 99 years while also contributing $1 million toward design costs. Broad would have paid the rest, an estimated $50 million to $70 million.
In August 2010, Eli Broad announced formally that he would build a museum in Downtown Los Angeles. He agreed to pay $7.7 million for a 99-year lease. Officially characterized as a grant, the money subsidized affordable-housing units at The Emerson, a high-rise residential tower next to the museum. The agreement also includes an $8.5-million government share of the cost of the museum's outdoor plaza and government payments of up to $30 million to reimburse Broad for building the museum's underground parking garage. Under that buy-back provision, the garage eventually will be government-owned.
In an invited architectural competition for the project in 2010, six architects were asked to present preliminary designs. They included Dutch architect Rem Koolhaas and his firm Office for Metropolitan Architecture; Swiss pair Herzog & de Meuron; Christian de Portzamparc from Paris; Japanese duo Ryue Nishizawa and Kazuyo Sejima of SANAA; and Diller Scofidio + Renfro from New York. Diller Scofidio + Renfro were eventually chosen by Broad to design the approximately 120,000-square-foot museum, which includes exhibition space, offices and a parking garage.
In February 2015, Eli and Edythe Broad hosted a public preview of the new building, attracting some 3,500 visitors.
The museum was opened by Broad and his wife on September 20, 2015. Celebrities in attendence included Bill Clinton, Reese Witherspoon, Matthew Perry, Heidi Klum, and Larry King, among others.

PATTAYA, TERRACOTTA ARMY WARRIOR SOLDIERS, Vihara Chinese museum, Viharn วิหารเซียน-พัทยา
One of my favourite cultural experiences here in Sattahip District in Pattaya and it’s Chinese to boot. If you enjoy sculpture and art, this is a must-see museum as it houses a huge collection of Chinese art including the only collection of original Terracotta Warrior figures held outside China! Also know as the Terracotta Army, The Terra-Cotta Warriors, (วิหารเซียน-พัทยา)
This is where you will find the only DISPLAY OF TERRACOTTA WARRIORS FOUND OUTSIDE OF CHINA
Vihara Sien is both an architectural masterpiece and a museum of rare archaeological artefacts, donated by the Chinese government. Up to 60 granite sculptures, depicting various gods and goddesses, as well as Chinese zodiac dolls and animal figurines, stand sentry on the ground floor.
A major highlight is the exhibition area, in the style of an ancient Chinese palace hall. Here, the collection of artefacts range from earthenware pottery, ancient musical instruments, paintings, brassware and the golden throne of an emperor and the horse soldier figurine (dated more than 2,000 years old) excavated from Emperor Qin Shi Huang’s tomb in Xian.
There’s also an exhibition area for showcasing Thai cultural artefacts, such as wooden models of traditional Thai houses from the four regions, classical Thai instruments, Thai puppets, Khon masks and other hand-carved wooden sculptures. The third floor is dedicated to a collection of Buddha images, from both the Mahayana and Theravada sects and wall murals
Recommended for tourists who love Chinese arts
There’s also a shrine outside where you can pay respect to the gods.
Entrance fee 50 baht and the car park outside the building.
