MOG || museum of Goa ( Pilerne - Goa )
Museum of Goa (MOG) is an endeavor to take art to the masses. It seeks to break social and cultural barriers and make art accessible to all.
This inclusive space for the Arts will bring together artists, curators, collectors, art enthusiasts, educators, students and audiences from all walks of life. It will host exhibitions, as well as workshops, residencies, lectures, talks and art courses. MOG intends to be a platform for contemporary Indian and international artists, building a cultural network for exchange and interaction.
Envisioned less as a repository of objects and more as a laboratory of ideas, MOG welcomes multidisciplinary art forms – painting, sculpture, photography, design, moving image, music, theater, poetry, installation, and others – to have constant dialogue with one other. Contemporary art is a universal language of sharing and communication today. Through MOG, Goa is positioned in a global conversation, and is placed on the international art map.
MOG offers 1,500 square meters of space to display art and is centrally located in Pilerne Industrial Estate, Bardez, Goa. The three storey structure is designed by the well-known architect Dean D’Cruz. Standing between industries on one side and forestland on the other, it houses galleries, an Art Store, a café, an auditorium and studios for artists.

Goa in Monsoon | Part-4 | Goa Chitra Ethnographic Museum | Ancestral Goa | Benaulim | DesiWanderers
The #GoaChitra is an ethnographic #museum based in the former #Portuguese colony (and now India's smallest state) of #Goa. It has a large collection—over 4000 artefacts—focusing on Goa's traditional agrarian technology and lifestyle.
Goa Chitra is based in the coastal Goan village of #Benaulim. It was founded and is run (2010) by the artist-curator-restorer Victor-Hugo Gomes. TimeOut Mumbai has described the museum as [o]ne of Goa's most charming attractions and add that this little rural complex houses thousands of traditional implements, vessels and tools that evolved over centuries in the agrarian heartland of Goa in the service of farming and other traditional trades.
