“Forgive This Eternal Wandering Jew!” - Oligarch Boris Berezovsky’s Letters to Putin REVEALED!
Subscribe to Vesti News
The heady air of the Foggy Albion is quite toxic for those inclined towards political adventures. The runaway oligarch Berezovsky is among those that didn't end well, having tried to undermine Russia while living in London. Last year, a well-known Russian banker Pyotr Aven published a hefty book The Time of Berezovsky. The head of Alpha Bank shared his personal accounts of those times with Nailya Asker-Zade in the program Actors. The program will air on our channel tonight after midnight. Here's a fragment.

Russia: places to visit | Tula is the capital of Russian weapons
This is our first video in our “Must See” series where I’ll tell you what things in Russia are worth your time to see and what should be avoided at all costs.
↓↓↓↓ Must See ↓↓↓↓
In this episode, we are visiting Tula. Some call it the “city of craftsmen” because ever since Medieval times a lot of tools, weapons, and other goods were made right here.
You’ll definitely feel the productive spirit in Tula at some of its museums, especially the Tula State Museum of Weapons. It is impossible to not notice this unique helmet shaped building that houses the Arms Museum, which is one of the biggest of its kind in the world. If you are at all interested in melee Russian weapons, hunting and sport rifles and/or hardcore military tech then coming here would be a good idea. You will definitely get inspired. If you want to know more about the history of when those weapons were used in medieval Russia then check out the Tula Kremlin right smack in the middle of downtown.
It may seem like Tula is all about arms which are only partially true. Tula is also the home to the totally non-violent Pryanik cookies and inside the Tula Kremlin, there is a museum where they will show you how to make one of these Russian sweets with your own hands. And since they seem to last forever they are a great gift to take back home. Locals consider their Pryanik cookies to be the supreme Russian biscuit with a totally unique flavor that you can only get here in Tula.
Tula may have a unique taste but it also has a unique sound, the sound of accordions! Tula is still a leader in accordion production to this day. Not only can you see accordions but hear them and learn to play songs for yourself. Who knows maybe you can take one home to impress (and/or annoy) your friends and family around Christmas?
All this and more will be in our next video. After that, we will have our first “Must Eat” where you’ll experience the best food that Tula has to offer and see where you absolutely must stop to eat while visiting this fantastic city. Food and vacation go hand-in-hand so our Must Eat series should be a great help to those who want to experience Russian food the right way!

Primorsk: The Sunken Soviet City
For this project I've chosen the place, which is an iconic symbol of all the destruction and recession in Abkhazia even 15 years after the end of the war with Georgia. It's a story of people, not only stuck in an isolated place, but stuck in time and forgotten by civilization. Although now there are no fights there, and no one dies of hunger, I try to prove with the pictures, that the situation of this people is still a big human drama.
Once a Soviet industrial enclave in the republic of Georgia, built to serve the needs of the Ingouri power plant, and a role model Communist city, the Black Coast city of Primorsk, is today overgrown by weed and swamps. Those 60 ethnic Russians out of 5000, who decided not to leave Primorsk, survive on subsistence farming in the most dangerous area of Abkhazia, the so-called lower zone, bordering Georgia, where, officials say, Georgian guerillas have the easiest access to Abkhazia. These people have to walk for 22km by foot to the regional center, Gali, to pick up 100-roubles ($3) Abkhazian pension, do not have proper IDs to leave for Russia and do not even have a chance to send their children to school. Moreover, they are now attacked by a channel they had built with their own hands for the needs of the Ingouri plants. Mile by mile, it is seizing the land. One of abandoned Soviet sanatoriums has already been under water, but now the houses are in danger. In fact, nothing really happens in Primorsk today, people just survive. The times when people had to hide their children in potato bags to protect them from being raped by both Abkhazian and Georgian gangs in the afterwar period had gone. But one can read the sense of isolation and despair from their eyes, that's why I decided to shoot Holga, whose quality of picture lets me stress more on emotions I feel each time I come to Primorsk rather on what's going on. This makes project a bit arty, but I still consider it photojournalism, because I tell the story of these people via their portraits and the pictures of their environment.
